Side panel templates. I used a reasonably rigid type of plastic I bought from as scrap from a local sign shop and cut them with a sharp X Acto or utility/box cutter knife. About 1/8" thick. I painted them using Rustoleum 2X that is suitable for use on plastic. Flat black for the inside, and Red Apple as my body colour. Some plastics need to be prepped prior to painting (might get fisheye if not cleaned). Left and right are mirror images.
The rearmost panel is the first in the file. I have never posted a multi image scan before, so you will see the key dimensions and can confirm what you print is the correct size. On the rear ones there are two fold lines. 90 deg each. 3m 2 sided emblem tape goes on those folded areas (the body colour side) and will adhere to the underside of the lip on the inside top edge of the textured body panel. Geez - I hope this makes sense when doing a trial fit!! The left and right side folds need to be opposite to each other. The tab at the top slides between the body colour panel and its corresponding interior panel. That and the tape on the fold below keep it in place. To make a precise fold, lightly score the opposite side along the fold line before bending it. Practice that move on some scrap first.
The front panel has three 1/4" holes for zipties. When you do the trial fit, you will see they line up with the tubular frame. And those zipties hold the front panel in place. I sprayed body colour paint into the rattlecan top and brushed it on the zipties where they are exposed on the body coloured panel.
I chose to have my frame tubes remain exposed, so the panels generally fit in a manner that leaves them visible. It would not hurt to cut yours a bit larger then the templates and trim them gradually until you achieve the desired fit.
PM me if you need help making this story seem logical!!

Tomorrow evening I will post the templates and a description

I’m taking the SS to Cycle Springs in the morning for a brake light warning issue (hopefully just the common switch issue) and seat frame recall. Noel Hughes at Cycle Springs likes to make things. If he likes my filler panels he (or anybody else) is welcome to take my idea and run with it.

I think I saw clear diamond plate in plastic somewhere. As long as it has a bit of flex they would work.Templates would be free - I would post them as an attachment. I’m retired -no more business activity for me!!

Re cupholder - i don’t remember the brand. Took them off my E Glide when I sold it. Used P clamps to mount them to the SS. Great for holding a water bottle. One on each side. Using the SS cupholders were too hard on my elbow!!

- Thanks for the compliment. I am pretty happy with them. I would be happy to scan and post templates if anybody is interested in making their own. Really simple to create (X-acto type knife) and install (2 zipties per side and 8” per side of 3M 2 side emblem tape).

What time is it??? It is beverage time.

I liked the look of the first filler panels, so I made two more. One for each side to the rear of the others. Again, cheap and easy! That could well elicit a Tripod response though!

I recently have been getting the dreaded brake warning light. I just kill the ignition while driving and it is gone until (usually) after 3 or 4 brake applications. Just flick the key off and back on even while driving. An appointment was booked today at Cycle Springs to get it fixed. And to check out my seat frame weld recall issue.

I certainly can share the template. Can scan mine in two pieces if anybody wants it. I painted the inside flat black, and the outside with the trim (red in my case) color. Three holes and two zip ties later, each side is installed.

$10 at a sign shop for some plastic, 4 zip ties and rattle can red paint.... My wife said seeing structural pipes is kind of what a SS is, so I made a filler panel instead.

My SS is a Canadian model. Re tapping into the high beam circuit to trigger the relay, I do not recall exactly where I did it, but likely it was at the headlight itself. Re the light bar, I bought it on Amazon. I do not know its light output or power consumption. While I do have some improved distance lighting I installed it primarily to make my SS more visible to other traffic. The attached pic shows its mounting location. It is behind the grill under the nose.

I did exactly what you are planning. I powered the LED bar from a fused battery feed and used a relay triggered by the high beam circuit. I also put a dash switch in the circuit in case I do not want the bar on for some reason.

Hmmm. We have a Sentra in NS, and 4 extra base fronts w tires in Fla. Maybe I should take them north with me next month!!!

Shifthype. In Orlando.

He did say the driver seat couldn’t move ahead with that pod.

I sent a note to the guy who has them. Made by an outfit in Orlando. He said no issues about getting in or out, but I don’t know his size. I also had the concern as I am about 6’3”. But if it was molded tight to the pipe, and swooped down to the textured side panel, it shouldn’t affect access and egress. But I am talking about it being a body filler panel rather than a speaker pod. When I get home to NS I expect I will play with the concept.
