So far a wipe of the area with Plastic Prep (see pic) and Gorilla Super Glue Gel has worked well for my LED strip applications. Time will tell how long it holds!! Note - in the pic the headlight eyebrows show as purpleish. Actually they are cool white.

Got it solved. Thanks to getRdun.

Voltage issue? Looking around in various forums suggests to me the voltage of the OE LEDs is less than 12v. So perhaps I need a couple of 5 volt relays triggered by the turn signals to provide 12 volt power to my strips. But I cannot figure out why everything (including the new strips) works if the ignition switch is ON, but not when it is OFF (using the 4way flasher).

More info. I have only done the left side so far. When the ign is OFF and 4ways are on, if the new LED strip is connected, it (and all other left lights) flash once then go out. The right side flashes normally. If I turn the ign ON, both sides work correctly. As does the left turn function. Its like a breaker trips when the ign is off.

Hooked up right side. Same issue. Ign OFF, turn on 4way switch, get a quick flash then nothing. Ign ON, everything works as it should.Ok. It seems like a current draw issue. Putting a short strip with only a couple LEDs on it works fine in all conditions. I guess the 15" strip must be too large a load? So its time for relays perhaps. Other ideas please?

Adding amber LED strips to front to supplement factory turn signals. They work fine as turn signals and 4ways when ign switch is on. But nothing at all when 4 ways are on and ign is off. Disconnect them with ign off and 4 ways work as they should. What is up?

I have lots of relays in the garage and bought some extra dash switches from a forum advertiser. So I guess I can tackle it tomorrow.

Thank you. Didn't know about the fuse and relay issue. I sure hope my Service Manual gets here soon. The electrical schematic would be handy. Is there an online one somewhere?

Finally got the stereo installed. Jensen VX7012. With a storage bin above. Thanks to Rab for the idea a month or two ago.

2016 base - Canadian. Two questions. Has anybody experienced cooling issues when a LED bar is placed in the lower opening at tge front. I didn't yet install it but am concerned about the reduced air flow to the rad. Comments?? Secondly, on both sides at the front, there is a blue connector, each with a yellow and a black wire. No power there on either low ir high beam. What are they for? I was hoping to use one for the light bar.

Plans changed today. Was the nicest day of spring so got up and installed battery boost terminals and trickle charge connector. Then off to a nearby vineyard festival. Can install stuff on crappy weather days. Gotta ride (drive??) on the good ones.

Got the SS (Base with dealer installed windshield and muffler heat kit) home Thursday afternoon. Since then: Wink mirror, convex stick-on mirrors, Stebel horn (with relay), fuse block, detachable D steering wheel, speaker pods and speakers, cup holder, floor mats, short shift kit and weighted knob, coil cover, Sling Dynamics roof, rear view camera. Today will try to figure out the stereo (single DIN Jensen) install (the wiring is easy, its the dash kit that's tuff). After that is four point harnesses, cat delete, LED light bar, side mirror mounted LED running and turn signal lights, maybe some underbody LED strips (I bought them but am not sure I will use them), LED strips around front lights, rear wing (bought one but not sure I will install it. With the roof - looks kind of busy back there with the wing). No performance or handling stuff planned yet. Need some wheel time to figure what I want/need. However all the stuff listed above is how I stimulated the US economy while in Fl!!!

Ha! Too late for that advice!! Spent about $4000 while in Fl before I ever saw my own SS.

I'm not really sure. I gave it a blast of Blaster, and it worked. Or maybe the phase of the moon changed when it worked on my last post midnight try!!!

It is 1250am where I am right now (Nova Scotia). Just got a note from Chris at Demon where I bought my steering wheel. Problem fixed. Now that is great customer service!!!

Unfortunately, my dealer really is that far away. But I do agree that short errands could easily turn into something longer. Got started on installation of stuff today.

No trips planned. Did 3.5 hours today coming home from my dealer. A nice run.
