I had an iPhone 12 last summer, and never had any issues connecting to the head unit in my 2019 SLR. I now have a Samsung S22U, and it doesn’t want to pair with my RideCommand. I put both in pairing mode, but the phone does not see the Sling, nor does the Sling see the phone. Tried rebooting the phone, nothing. Any ideas? My phone connects fine to the Android Auto head unit in my car, as well as other Bluetooth devices. The phone connected to my PedalCommander, but the Slingshot doesn’t show up on the list of available devices.

We’ve gone from winter to the rainy season in NH… temps are finally 50+ but it’s kinda soggy out there… I was really afraid that taking the Sling out of storage would cause blizzard conditions, but so far so good.

** Spoke too soon. We had flurries this morning. Doh!

Speaking of bags, I did a thing yesterday! Between the usual New England winter (which lasts well into April some years) and some medical issues, I didn’t get to this until yesterday.

Got the racks at SlingMods last year on sale, then stashed them in the garage waiting for a warm day. They look slick, and the rack part is easy enough to remove if I need to. I got the matching bags to go with them.

Unfortunately, as I feared the ZZP GoPro mount won’t work. It fits, but the rack mount prevents the camera from tipping upwards enough to see anything other than the passenger seat. Blargh… I need to either come up with an extender bracket or move the GoPro to a dashboard mount of some form.

It showed the same on all of ours i believe, if i can remember correctly you have to reinstall it to get it to update to the screen that matches the unit, than all will be fine.......

Thanks, that did it! It now shows the correct screen. I thought maybe I downloaded the wrong app, but I was only able to find the one. Not sure why reinstalling worked but I won’t argue with success. :P

Old thread, I know… those of you who run a Pedal Commander, did the phone app match the settings? My Pedal Commander controller shows Eco, City, Sport, and Sport+, but the iOS app shows Off-road, Track, Race, and something I can’t read. The app is set to use English, and it did connect to the PC, but it puzzles me as to why the two don’t have the same settings.

Love your knight Rider light! I have been wanting one, but keep forgetting to measure the width of that opening. Did you use one of the standard 22" long kits? Since I now have the TD Ultimate Slingshot Bumper, I guess I'll still need to measure the center opening on the bumper.

The kit is as it comes from slingmods. I didn’t take any special measurements.

Finally got around to installing the fuzeblock today. Hardest part was snaking the hot wire from the battery to the engine compartment. The guy on the installation video said it took him about a minute to run the wire. BS. Took me 5 minutes just to find the spot he was talking about. There is a hole near the frame behind the driver’s seat that the wire can fit through, but I banged my head against the battery tray at least 5 times trying to find it. Finally ran a snake wire from the cockpit to feed the hot wire (and tube covering) through. Along the seat, up behind the speaker pod, and into the engine compartment. Probably took 5 minutes once I figured out how to get it through there. Did I mention that I had shoulder surgery a month ago, and laying on the ground was not helping? Anyways… the wire from the accessory plug in the glove compartment was easy, and I grabbed ground off the frame where the brake fluid fill is attached. I just did not trust taking one of two bolts out of the hood latch. My luck the thing would fly apart all over my driveway. I did mention to my wife (who actually was a big help with this) that I was well aware that one wrong snip and I would render a $27k vehicle useless. But, it’s in there and works!

I know it works, because I tested it on the other mod…

I had a video but it was too big.

The GPS can be controlled from the Boss radio. But that’s why a lot of cars now have volume and “Previous / Next” buttons on the steering wheel, so you can fiddle with that without taking your eyes off the road. Anything more complex than that should be done while pulled over.

I’ve found it easier to use the “Now Playing” app on my watch to change songs than to poke the buttons on the dash unit. Having an extra controller is a nice feature.

I put a set of those on mine two months ago and I am glad I did. I never felt safe changing from the left lane to the right no matter how I adjusted the mirror. I could never see everything. Now that I have the convex mirrors, I can finally see everything on the right side of me. No issues with fit, they are on there and not going anywhere under their own power.

Thanks, hopefully he sees this (and sorry, I didn’t mean to hijack the thread.) I am looking at various harness kits and am getting confused as to what I need. Part of the problem is I can’t find any pics or videos of what the current speaker connections even look like, just references to a 32-pin connector that goes on the back of the Ride Command head unit. I probably need that as well. Then there are speaker harnesses from Metra, some 2 wire, some three wire. I can’t tell which one I need. I see wiring kits from various places labeled “2014 and up” or “2015 and up” but then there are comments from people saying “didn’t fit my 2018” so I dunno what to trust. I used to install car radios and thought maybe I could do this myself, but that was 35 years ago. Apparently the wiring is a lot more complicated now. I didn’t want to pay the local dealer $90/hour to do it but it would be better than risking screwing it up.
