This post is long overdue because I had been searching for the words...when THANK YOU is so inadequate, it just doesn’t cut it. It’s hard to even process that someone could love you so unconditionally that they would leave their family to drive almost 7000 miles to give you a hug; and unload an unthinkably large amount of goodies from such a confoundingly small space. @KayTwo had thought of everything and everyone when he came to Sundre Slingfest. He slept in miserable conditions while he visited, worked his tail off and each gift, each gesture, each conversation left everyone here knowing they were in the presence of a real life hero. Impossible to list all of the gifts he’s given our family, not only during his visit but through this entire last year, none more important than hope (and hugs!). So many Canadian Hearts will be broken if he doesn’t come back next year!!!
@Bu11sh1t came strolling into Sundre, with a huge personality and an even larger gift sac than Santa Claus. Almost everyone he came in contact with left with something- either a gift, a huge smile or a really good laugh. While the sling parts were a plenty, the silver bells left a huge impression. Especially with a lonely gentleman, grieving the loss of his wife of almost 50 years, who was shyly admiring the slingshots, was pulled into Harvey’s emanating, welcoming presence and walked away with that precious silver... (he’s still talking about it of course). There is no one, not even our local police force, who didn’t fall in love with him & his wife.
I didn’t get a bell, or sling parts, heck I didn’t even get to see his slingshot’s lightshow! Instead he paid extortion rates for lemonade that Milez made just for him & proceeded to collect donations and sell tickets to cover some of the shortfall of the event. He & Diana also brought some of the most adorable clothes for baby Kingzley, some of the most delicious chocolate ever and what appears to be half the contents of their pantry- precious, homemade deliciousness... and begrudgingly, the container they were transported in. My favorite though, was having THEM, in person, to hug, to hear that voice in person that had been so comforting & made me laugh in the darkest of times. (he Thought he could fool me pretending to be someone else- then he spoke lol!).
It’s impossible, really, to list all the gifts these two so generously pour out into the world on a daily basis, both material gifts and just loving on, believing in and breathing life into everyone they come into contact with. So glad they stayed another day- so sad when they left, (there may or may not have been tears), still mad I never got to see the “alleged” lights
Thank you so much for all the love... I sure do appreciate it! Hugs & kisses to all! Xoxo
happy birthday - now that the dirty 30s are behind ya, you can settle into your grove - have a terrific day
hmmmmm so no freaky forties?
Ugh. You crazy Americans just gotta do everything BIGGER. You left a big hole in Slingfest, that can only be filled... by y’all. We will forever be changed. Your love, support, kindness & generosity is appreciated more than you know. Can’t wait until we meet again!

I would have loved to be there but its a long haul from here too, just over 2100 miles each way , and that's going the short way, down around lake Michigan , Chicago instead of the Canadian route , up over lake Superior
Are you a man or a mouse? I believe in you! You can do it! Huge huge thanks for chipping in a prize anyway, we sure do appreciate it!

One young man looks like he'll be ready to ride in a week or so. Hope everyone is healthy....
We had a scare a couple weeks ago- the antibodies were winning. He got very very weak, sick and losing weight. Then the following week, he came back swinging and started winning the fight! This is his last week in the danger zone, then those pesky antibodies will be gone. He is getting so strong! Thanks for thinking of us @EjFord
Got a box full of @Bu11sh1t! Thank you so much my Indiana Angel. Now Kingzley has his very own race seat and a fly new wardrobe. More than anything, it’s the LOVE in that box that was the greatest gift. So grateful for the SS family!
Both orders are packed and ready to go out first thing in the morning. Thank you so much for supporting the Slingshot Garage’s diaper fund! We sure do appreciate the business!
I’ll shoot a set out to you right away! PayPal $25 to: thessgarage@gmail.com
Make sure to include “Ecu” and your shipping address. Thank you so much for your interest!
Wow! That looks amazing!!!! I love it!!

It’s not my pregnancy stash @KayTwo!!! Men... this is all stuff that is truly Canadian... our cheezies... ketchup chips- Maynard’s.. Glosettes- these are Mark’s favourite thing on earth and Malteasers yummmmm. Let’s not forget that I’m breastfeeding over here- I gotta truly love you @Goats_Hogs to part with my treasured snacks! (Although I clearly ate all dark chocolate before sealing the box). Thank you so much for your support that got us through- so much sweeter than anything I could’ve packed in a box! Xoxoxoxoxo
OK, I got Mark's permission before posting this. Several of us ordered SlingLenz from @Slingshot Garage and @SundreSlingQueen back in the winter. At that time, Shawna was about to head to the hospital for an extended stay. None of us were really in a hurry, as the good riding season wasn't here at that time. Well, we got our package yesterday. The Lenz came with some extras.... looks like I'm going to have to start my diet after these thing are gone! Thanks Mark and Shawna! Blessings on you both!
@EjFord....
Round here we start em young...
This is our last little fella- Milez at 3 years old, hitch in a ride with daddy @Slingshot Garage in his car seat of course. Until he got his own ride...
Kingzley will be in there even sooner I’m sure. Lol!
Made my heart melt and brought tears to my eyes... @Stairgod and his wonderful wife sent us this beautiful card. I never cease to get excited about “it’s a boy! Blue”. Inside was an astounding $100 for handsome new threads for the little fella. Once again, I’m left speechless. This happened to come when I found out that I lost my contract while I was in the hospital/RMH. Nothing like angels on Eastep to remind you that you’re being cared for from above.
There’s no adequate way to thank you enough for the love Shortreeds! Xoxo
