@drfubar Missed that had I seen he was from Florida I would have expected he was from my part of the state. They don't seam to understand what yellow lines are for. But he probably just didn't know what a curve in the road was we don't have many.

Yeah, I see them all year long in the mountains especially the dragon and the cherohala. They come to these great curvy roads and want to straighten them out by cutting corners.

Hey drfubar , you didn't call or text me that you were coming to Ellijay, could have joined you at least for lunch???

I'm going your way one of these nice days?

    Enjoy your videos also !!

Sorry... It was set up a few days in advance too. I won't forget you next time. We ate at the Cajun Depot. The food was good but the service was beyond bad. We won't go back.

I was noticing that he might want to drive on his side of the road in those curves. The one he was completely out of the right lane. A lot of drivers around here have no clue what the yellow line means.

He? You mean the fella from FL in front of me? I did make mention of that.

Not my favorite road but the view is pretty good from the top. Tire snakes, uneven and rough pavement take away from this ride but ending up in Ellijay for lunch was great.

Heck, I first looked at this and thought "Dude! You're on the wrong side of the highway! And about to head on!" Took me a minute . . . . .

LOL, I looked at it that way for first time and you are right... HEAD ON!!!!

This road is Hwy 84 in Tennessee, better know by it's local name of Calf-Killer Hwy. I kinda like Cat-Killer Hwy better but when I say it my Wife gives me the look. Road goes from Sparta, TN to Monterey, TN.

Had a bud on his GoldWing stay at the house Friday night, drank a little bourbon and planned a ride thru Tennessee into N Carolina and then south into Georgia. Before we headed out I made contact with another bud from Georgia and he met us about 80 miles into the ride in Hiwassee GA. Had lunch at the "SandBar" open restaurant overlooking Chatuge Lake. From there we headed south on RT 288 to RT 17 just NW of Helen GA we continued SW on Rt 75 over to Rt 129 just north of Cleveland GA and then west to Rt 19, (south end of Blood Mtn), and then north on Hwy 60, stopping for a break at T.W.O., (Two Wheels of Suches | Motorcycle Campground & Lodge in Suches, Georgia). My bud from Gainesville, GA headed back home from T.W.O. and my other friend and I stayed on 60 all the way back into Tennessee, back across the Ocoee road and home. 298.8 miles later I was backing into the garage. I started with a full tank of gas and I planned on filling back up about 2 miles from my house but everyone was out of gas, (FOOKING HORDERS!). Soooooooo I headed up the mountain to Mary's Ridge and just before I turned into my driveway the SS started to sputter a bit. It picked back up and as I said I got it into the garage. What a beautiful day! Well, aside from almost running out of gas, (FOOKING HORDERS!), or did I already say that. Got a chance to test out my new hydration system and it worked pretty good and the new Michelin's stuck to the road like glue through the twisty's. Who'd a thunk the SS would go almost 300 miles on a tank. The digital mileage readout said 30.2 mpg when I got home so that would be pretty close to correct. Anyway, looking forward to more adventures this summer. I've got plenty of video too which I might download later this morning. Stay tuned!

drfubar , thanks for the information and your help, I just didn't realize that your new Michelin was a Run Flat tire ?

Yep, that model is a ZP only. I really wouldn't get a run flat because of what I've heard about being more stiff and more stiff ride. I haven't noticed that at all. I put 298.8 miles on it yesterday in the mountains and I'm more than satisfied with it. I'll buy it again.

You’re right and I won’t. I don’t drive 85mph and I only take my Slingshot out in warmer weather - have other vehicles for that. :)

It's funny you should say that. With a tall windshield on your SS it is just like riding in one of those other vehicles to me. If I don't want the wind and feel of riding my motorcycles in the day, I'd be in my truck. Besides, my Wife and I wear helmets and have intercoms in them. We talk normally and hear quite well. If I'm alone and listen to the music, I can hear it just fine either thru the intercom in my helmet or I can hear it thru the SS speakers and I haven't added speakers or put in an upgrade to make it louder. Everyone gets something else out of their "ride". I love the wind, always have. It gets well into the 90's here in TN and the humidity sometimes gets pretty high too. The wind certainly helps... Ride on!
