Looks like for $600 you can get the power of an R model in your standard sl.

Thanks Wokka, it’s just 4 bolts and pull toward drivers side tire and hood will come off? Looks like a fun project. May wait until it cools down a little as you know how hot it’s been in Texas, that humidity is killer lol.
-
So the whole hood does not need to be removed to install the headlight? I bet those hood cables were a bear to get to with the hood still on. As far as brightness with just the upper drls it is way brighter at night compared to the stock yellow halogen bulbs. I am sure if you replaced the stock h9’s it would be brighter then the drl’s.
I meant to ask, on the bottom uas gap fillers do they actually bolt to something underneath or is everything held together with screws and zip ties? -
No problem wokka, I messaged slangshot7 because he kept the factory nosecone. He did so because he did not want to tear his hood apart either.
What was today's Sling project-Mods , goodies....?
I remember when I took off my hood inserts to install the painted blk pearl inserts and they were a pain to pull off. Think I broke just about every one of those tabs on those textured blk inserts lol. I do not want to take a chance on breaking these painted ones.
Maverick I do not have that bracket yet, there are only two companies that I know of that make that bracket. Just trying to decide if I want gap fillers next or headlight. Thanks again for all the information.

So I am guessing you just trim the backside because it touches the light? Any idea how much?
-
Please correct me if I am wrong but from what I have read you can modify the factory nosecone without tearing the hood apart. The headlight or gap fillers will be my next mod. I just used factory oem parts for the upper drl’s.

Trooper, it is all factory oem parts. I used Ricky Wrights video,
His part numbers are not what I came up with. I used 5454399 lh and 5454400 rh for the housings. I ordered from adept powersports, but I just looked and tms powersports is a little cheaper. Got everything shipped for around $320. It was pretty much unplug factory lights and plug these in. Next will probably be the center headlight then bottom drl’s with gap fillers. I know the uppers are just drl’s but they are way brighter at night than the factory orange round bulbs. I was hoping the bottom drls were plug and play also but I don’t know of any way to make that happen. Are the bottom drl’s the same plugin as the top one? I am thinking about making a plug that plugs into the factory harness at the top drls then having two males plugs that will plug into the uppers and lowers, basically a y plug 1 female to 2 males.

That looks awesome trooper. How do the bottom driving lights wire up?
-
Love it, I was waiting for someone on this forum to install this kit. How hard was the install? I have also seen a few facebook post of people using all oem hardware but I have heard that some trimming is required. Also when ordering what is the controller? Is there much splicing/wiring involved? Would really love as much information as you can give because this will prob be my next mod.

Thanks for letting us know what the problem was. Glad you got your sling back going.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles out of the shadows. When they are breaking shredder out of the police van they use a slingshot. Pretty cool chase scene with a slingshot.

Mine took a dump today
Found a replacement here
Very nice, does it come with the pulley already installed? Same belt?
-
Sounds like clock spring to me. You could also look at the horn wires and make sure sure they are not shorting across to each other making the horn blow. The Dorman 525-108 will work you just have to change to ends.
-
I do think these are the best looking gap fillers. Will look awesome with that light.

Ddm works billet gas cap black metallic
Black pearl hood accent panels
Black pearl rear hump covers

Wow that is so awesome, he is about to have a lot of fun. That sling looks great in that black matte finish.

It’s kind of hard to tell from the pics but it looks like it is only on the accent hood panels. If it was chemical I would think it would have affected the rest of the wrap. I cannot tell if the hood accents have the wrap on them or not. If they do you should be able to remove just the hood accents and remove the wrap on them and then bolt them back on. Would still look good in my opinion.

Yep, give Dan a shot. That’s who I use for my slingshot insurance.

Here is the link that was requested. Very quick shipping from slingmods.

Amazing what a difference little items like this make.
