I should have said 89 & above octane (sorry about that). I usually buy my Premium at Sammy's Club, so I know that there a plenty of folks pumping it (they only have regular and Premium grades). My SS is stock. If I'm on a ride or something or out of town, I always use the highest octane I can find.

Anyone using 87 octane in their SS on a regular basis. I've had a couple mechanics tell me that it is ok to use 87. Their argument is that 91 and above usually just sits in the storage tanks too long. And that the SS motor can run fine on 87 with no additives. Any thoughts? If this has come up before, sorry I didn't look through every page on this site. Im always used 91, but want to hear any discussion.

I mounted a set of Baker cargo carriers on a buddy's SS yesterday. He has already put them to the test

Did a little driving around town over the weekend with my son-in law - He loved the SS. But sorta of a sad weekend too - I sold my beloved 05 GW Trike. Had her for 8 years, but with the SS (and my 2000 Honda Valkyrie), I hardly ever rode it, so I hope the new owner has as much joy with it as I did. At least I got what I was asking for it with no negotiations from the new owner.

Wife and I got some wind therapy yesterday going about 50 miles to a Memorial Day ceremony in Searcy, AR. About 15 CVMA members got together for the ride ( 3 stops to pick up different riders). Being in the SS, I'm an official tail-gunner. Always great to honor our vets, both past and present. (Yes we social distanced on the road and at the cemetery) With this virus, the state did not hold an open to the public ceremony at the Ark State Veterans Cemetery (But the Governor was the keynote speaker there - it was live cast on FB). But I was able to put a flag on my dad's grave there on Sat.

I just took mine out around the town, wife wanted wind therapy. Then, we made the mistake of going car shopping - Damn, we ended up buying a minivan (but still have the SS lol)

2000 Honda Valerie, 2005 Honda Goldwing Trike Love the Valk, smoothest bike I have ever ridden. But now both are getting dust from not being ridden often enough.

I bought mine new, have not regretting it a bit. I know that it will depreciate, but I know that from mile 3 to when I sell it, everything that has been done to it and every mile driven was by me.

But only on good days lol Sometimes few and far between during springtime in Arkansas. I stopped at a convenience store this morning on my way to work (6 am) There were about 10 police there getting coffee and such. I maintained my social distance (thanked them for their service) and one asks me if thats my SS in the parking lot. I said yes (thinking "Oh crap, what did I do now?" )and he said that he wished that he had one as a patrol car lol. They gathered around it for a few minutes and then I said I had to get to work. Good guys on the front line for us (as long as I don't get a ticket lol)
