Just picked up my heat shield. Reading the instructions it does not look to bad. My only question is Do I have to unplug all the wires to the headlights etc.. or just the clips to drop the subframe?

My dealer said it needed to be adjusted. Not sure what they did but it has not come on for over a year now. Nothing added to the SL system it is stock.

Hmmm, I find they are the same price. Not knocking SM but if I can buy from my dealer for the same price why would I buy from SM?

I was hoping to find a better deal but Alpha must have an agreement not to undercut their retailers. I saved $100 on the Ingen CAI so was wishful thinking.

I'm just curious if you can buy Alpha accessories directly from them? My dealer is selling the same Alpha accessories for the same prices as SlingMods. So where are they getting these? Obviously if they can sell them for the same price they must be getting them from the mfg'r.

The Polaris seats are $699. I like the looks of the stock SL Red seats. I did 1100 miles only stopping for gas and never had a problem with them. Since that ride I have been using a pillow for lumbar support. Rode yesterday a few miles with just the stock seat no pillow. I must have been on drugs! The seats do not offer any support. I am waiting for the dealer to get a set of these new seats in so I can try them before buying. I like that they have the same profile as the stock. Just wish the red stripe down the middle was there.

Wow 220, I could not imagine since we only had half that many last year. Sounds like a big success, congrats.

Someone on here wired into a dash switch. Would that be easy to do in your opinion? I like having it right in the dash.

Does anyone know how many Slingshots were registered?

I cannot find this kit by polaris anyplace. Does someone have a link?

I don't have any complaints with OEM lug nuts. Changed my rear tire and had no issues. Just use common sense when removing and installing.

I use my MC stop&go plug kit which included an air compressor. I also carry a rope plug kit just in case the plugger does not do the job.
-
No swing table. I just placed it under the frame on the rear and lift it a few inches. Man if the frame bends there it would tell me Polaris did a cheap ass job building this thing. I have not raised the front since the tires will go another season.

I jack it up myself. Take the tire to my car dealer for mounting. $130 for tire, $23 for mount & balance. I jack the SL up using my Pit Bull motorcycle jack.

I just installed the Injen CAI. It uses the existing sensors. Based on this install my question is "Why can't someone create a modification to the current OEM system that would eliminate the top, do some cutting of the plastic is necessary and add a new filter like other CAI's. When you consider the cost,it does not seem like you really are getting much if you just want a better air intake system." If the sensors were replaced and that was an improvement over the OEM system than I could see the reason for some of the prices. Looks aside, I paid $245 for the Injen and it does not look like the Alpha but it claims to have the same performance increase.

Rear at 16,700, still had tread but wanted to get ready for the season. I figure a new tire each season on the rear like my mc takes. Fronts still have plenty of tread and will probably go 30,000+. I replaced with Kenda which I have no complaints about. Bought 2 for $260 including shipping.

Thanks for the replies. I will was it real good tomorrow or maybe have the wife wash it. Springs are all fastened and tight and I did not feel or hear anything rattling in the muffler when I tapped it with a rubber mallet.
