My 2016 SL makes the same slow roll sound (almost a small popping sound). The belt is tracking correctly on the inside portion of the pulley, but not so far over to have a rubbing issue there so that isn't the issue. Gonna try to give the belt a good cleaning over the weekend to see if that helps. Shop tech is talking to Polaris about it now and thinks they will tell him to open up the right angle drive to check it out as a solution since I have a pretty good gear whine issue going at speed in addition to the low speed sound you describe above, but still waiting on final word back from them on next step.

Best to have one with you just in case. Just last week Huntsville, AL PD rolled up beside me for not having my helmet on and I was stopped by a trooper a few months ago down by Ditto Landing. The law was changed and helmets aren't required now, but they were when SS were first released and many police officers still go by that initial guidance. if you get a ticket the judge will throw it out, but if you are coming from out of town you probably don't want to hang around for a court date. Best insurance is to have a helmet and a good attitude and most likely getting nothing but a warning anyway. The autocycle classification change requires seat belt, but not helmet use in AL. If you decide to make a run up to Jack Daniels in TN you will need one for that ride since TN is still a helmet state.

Does anyone know whether Alabama recognizes SC's CWP license

From the Madison County (AL) Sheriff's webpage:

Pistol Permits ALABAMA RECIPROCAL PISTOL PERMIT (CONCEALED CARRY) AGREEMENT WITH THE FOLLOWING STATES:

The State of Alabama recognizes concealed carry pistol licenses or permits issued by other states; however, the carrier must observe all applicable laws while in Alabama. (SEE THE ABOVE LIST). Also, a person may carry or transport a long gun (rifle or shotgun) without a permit. A person may lawfully transport a firearm, including a handgun, from one state in which they are legal to possess to another state without a permit as required under Alabama law, provided the following conditions are met:

    1. The firearm is unloaded.
    2. Neither the firearm nor any ammunition being transported is readily accessible or is directly accessible from the passenger compartment of such transporting vehicle.
    3. In case of a vehicle without a compartment separate from the driver's compartment, the firearm and ammunition shall be in a locked container other than the glove box or console. Title 18 U.S.C, section 926A

What is the helmet law in AL?

When they first came out you had to wear a helmet just like a bike. AL Autocycle ruling changed that so no helmet required (seatbelts are required to be worn). That being said I've been stopped once by an AL state trooper for not wearing helmet last fall, but I have one with me so he let me go with warning. If you are coming from out of town I recommend just having one with you in case and you shouldn't have a problem. Judges throw the tickets out all the time since the current law doesn't require them (verified by my father in law that is a retired police officer), but not something you want to fool with if you are visiting and don't plan on coming back for your court date. "yes sir/ma'am and I have a helmet right here" will go a long way to avoiding the hassle of a ticket. You can do what I did and stop and take if off as soon as I got around the next bend in the road heading in the opposite direction from him...

I would be very interested in this. Guy in my riding group has a mean sling sport top and it is just too low in the front for me and not compatible with my baker air wings (which are key to getting air flow in the passenger compartment in the summer). This looks like a perfect solution to those days when the sun is beating down and a little temporary relief is all you are looking for. Moved to slingshot from riding bikes no absolutely no interest in having top on all the time, but this is a great idea that I'm sure many other "no top for me" riders would be interested in.
