I noticed that Polaris has a new software update for the Slingshot ride command. Has anyone installed this software on the 2018 models? I noticed the update could cause problems with loosing information that you might already have. Has anyone installed the new software? Any problems or new updates that makes it worth loading new software?

I was thinking about upgrading my headlights with LED’s. Went back and read threads on the forum for pros and cons. Most of the information was a while back, but one of the things I read was that LED headlights cause static on the radio. I was planning on purchasing the HD Elite LED Headlight Conversation Kit from SM. Does anyone have these LED’s? Are there any issues with static or any other issues with these LED’s? Thanks in advance for any feedback!!:/

Thanks for your input on the ride command gps. I don’t like wires everywhere either. That’s one of the reasons I was looking at this gps. As for as the sun visor , I have the slingshade. Never had any glare issues with this expensive sun visor.

I have a 2018 SL with the ride command. I was thinking about adding GPS. Is anyone using this GPS unit? If so, what are your thoughts on this GPS? Pros or Cons

Sounds like fun. I am going to try and make it. Will be at Disney with the grandkids part of that week. Should be back home late on 8 November. Probably come up late Friday or early Saturday depending on how bad the grandkids wear me out. Do y’all think rooms will still be available at the Murphy Motel? Guess I could call them when I return and see what’s available. Hope to see all of y’all soon!!

I know that removing the inserts from the dual exhaust would may the sound tone much louder, probably more than I want. I heard that the inserts can be cut about an inch at a time to change the tone. How much of a difference does this change make in the sound of the exhaust?

I got my seatbelt recall notice today also. I took delivery of my 2018 SL on the 31 January 2018. This is the 3rd recall since I have owned the SS. That’s 1 recall every 3 months. Polaris must have zero quality control where they build the slingshot. With that said, I am going for a ride and put a smile back on my face.

I was thinking about purchasing the Status Transmission Tunnel covers. I really like the look. But before dropping the $$$, I was wondering how well they work blocking heat from the transmission. If any of have this mod, please let me know what you think of them good and bad.

Has anyone installed the cool air vents that mount to the SS fender? If so does it help on hot days? Is rain water getting into the vents a problem?

I had the same issue with people wanting to get in my Slingshot. I started doing some research on security alarms. My Slingshot is a 2018 SL and the Polaris OEM alarm won’t work due to Polaris changing to the ride command radio in 2018. I contacted Scorpio customer service and told them what I wanted. I settled on the Scorpio SRX-900 with perimeter sensor. I also have the Neutrino fuse box. I use the RED wire coming from the neutrino with the inline fuse. This wire will provide constant power to the alarm. Easy to install, only three wires, power, ground, and switch. You can also adjust the perimeter sensor to your liking. I have had the alarm for around 3 months and I really like it. It’s fun to watch people’s reactions when they get to close. You can add GPS tracking to this alarm for a extra cost. Give Scorpio customer service a call if you are interested, they are very helpful. Hope this helps with your decision.

I have installed halo lights on my 2018 SL. I was wondering if I could hook my headlights to my neutrino fuse block. Then I could run my halos as daytime running lights and program the headlights through the neutrino to come on around sunset. Has anyone tried this? Do you believe this can be done?If so what would be the process to make this happen? Thanks in advance for any information.

I was thinking about purchasing a Sena half helmet with the built in Bluetooth so I can talk with other riders. Has anyone had experience with this helmet, good or bad?

Thanks to all for welcoming me to the forum. Look forward to meeting y’all at some of the slingshot events in the near future. As for the mod-flu, I already have a severe case of it. Can’t seem to shake it off.

New to Slingshotinfo. Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Have gotten some good info from this site since becoming a Slingshot owner in January 2018. Any members or clubs near Anderson South Carolina? Would like to meet and go on some rides if possible.
