We are going on this ride today. Found this website awhile back and going to try it out. Pictures to follow.

The SS's first three months.

These things can be built for pennies compared to what race ramps wants. I am buying a new trailer, once I do I will start on ramps. I am going to build them for dual purpose. I am going to build them to get SS on and off the trailer as well as jacking it up for maintenance.
-
I will custom build my own the next weekend day it rains and I can't get in SS. I can custom build them for my application out of wood, metal, or aluminum. Wood will be heavy but it will be free. I have enough scrap to do it for now and over the winter I will come up with a more permanent solution without dropping that kind of money.

Ouch. I was looking right now at the ramps at Harbor Freight that are $39.99 but I just realized they will not work. I will have to purchase ramps in order to get my SS on the trailer. Ugh!!!

I raise mine on the corner of the tubular frame and then set a few 2x6's under the tires for added safety. I would look on youtube and see how Sam Owens suggests to do it. His videos have helped me allot as I am relatively new to my SS as well.

Cathedral Falls on route 16 just a few miles from the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia. You literally pull off the road and walk right up to it. Waterfall is 50 feet from where you park. It was a good ride yesterday. 450 miles round trip.

Hey John we have a place in Hays NC just a few hours from that area - let me know when you head out that way. If we are up at the cabin maybe we could meet in the middle for dinner or somethinGive me a shout when you head out if you have free time. @123hotdog maybe we will get to meet you before the Clarksville event. The only catch is I can't get my sling up to the cabin so I will be in the truck.
Its a shame you can't bring the sling. Hays NC is only 90 minutes from Marion Va which is the start of the "Back of the Dragon" and is one of the best rides I've been on. It's almost as good and as technical as the "Tail of the Dragon" but allot less crowded.

Very nice pics!!! I'm in Virginia Beach, but I am originally from Kingsport, TN. I will be back in the Kingsport area in September. I have a few projects I need to get done to my house down there. I'll shoot you a PM when i firm up the dates!!! Again, mighty fine pictures!!!!
GO TRI-CITIES!!!!Thanks, we do allot of riding that are one day and two day trips around here. We just got home last night from the New River Gorge Bridge ride. Over the winter I am going to print off all the pictures and post them in my office. I might be able to refer some people to you for your house projects if you need (people who will do a good job and are not six months booked out). How funny you are in Va Beach. I worked for years for a company based out of Va Beach called BurgerBusters Inc.

Great input about the winch Boomer. My current cab over NPR has a winch that I use for work in case a mower breaks down. I will definitely add a winch first thing. I will have to go with 14 feet however. I use a 14 footer now in my work and it is already hard enough to get in and out of some places. Luckily my pull truck has a camper top on it and I will be able to store anything I need there. i,e, ramps ect.

I take a verbal a** whipping for this allot of times but I own over 100 pieces of equipment and/or vehicles that require gas or diesel and motor oil. I use Supertech Oil and Filters from Wal-Mart ever since Wal-Mart went to their own brand. They use to have purolator till a few years back. I have never lost or rebuilt a motor since then.

The little woman and I are headed out today to ride the New River Gorge Loop.
Scenic Route to New River Gorge in West Virginia | West Virginia Motorcycle Roads and Rides | MotorcycleRoads.com
Will take some pictures. Gonna make it a two day event. -
Thanks av8ingtom for your input.

Wanted to post some pictures of a great ride we went on about a month back. It's about a two hour ride to get there for us but it was worth it. There are four very large waterfalls on this ride. One you can walk under and one you can drive under!!!! The drive under was too crowded for me to get a pic. If you google waterfall loop ride you will find all the info you need.

I have decided to use an open trailer to trailer my SS. I am going to liquidate two trailers I currently have in my business so this trailer will primarily be used in my Landscaping business and only used to trailer the SS a handful of times a year.
2018 Gatormade Trailers 82x14 tandem Utility Trailer | O Quinn Trailers in Coeburn VA | New and used enclosed cargo mate and flatbed gatormade trailers including Gatormade
The trailer is only $2395 out the door (no tax) and my current trailers will liquidate for more than that, so no out of pocket cost for me.
My pull truck is a 1997 Toyota T100 with super super low miles. The towing capacity is 5100 so I am well within my weight limit for the truck. That will not be an issue as it pulls two 1250 pound mowers daily on a 76x14 trailer.
My concerns are is 82 wide enough to get the job done and covering it with something during transport without damaging paint. I have a bullet speed top. I would like to hear from some people with experience towing on an open trailer and would like to get their thoughts. I will be buying the ramps similar to the ones Sam Owes uses in his video. Any help and advice would be appreciated. I realize that an enclosed trailer would be the way to go but the last thing I want is something to mow around that I only use a couple of times a year. Thanks in advance for helping a rookie. Looking forward to Clarksville. -
Thank you. We are in Bristol Tennessee. We have put 6,000 miles on our 2018 SLR LE in less than four months. We travel in it every single weekend the weather allows.
Devil's Triangle
Dragon's Tail
Dragon's Claw
Dragon's Backbone
The Snake
Waterfall Loop Ride
The RattlerJust to name a few.
I am actually looking for a trailer right now to trailer the SS to Clarksville. It's bout 4 1/2 hours for us and I would like to trailer it just in case the weather doesn't cooperate on the way there or back.

We have literally been on this site a matter of minutes and we will be there. Already booked.

I have a 2018 SLR LE and I get my oil and filter from Wal-Mart. I will catch a ton of grief for this but I use 5w-30 Synthetic Supertech and a Supertech filter as well. I own a Landscaping Company with 128 pieces of equipment that require some type of motor oil and filter. I use Supertech oil in all of it including my wife's 2016 Camaro. Never had one bit of failures in any of it. Been using it for years. The oil and filter for my Slingshot at the dealer is $63 and at Wal-Mart it is less than $20
