Ok, apart from your Slingshot, show me your BEST toys.

I'll start y'all off with my little toy telescope. This is an Apomax. It's stands over 9 ft tall, weighs 300 lbs, and if you want to watch a dust storm moving across the face of Mars or see an eclipse happening on Jupiter, it's absolutely world class.

We have plans to put up a dome this summer so we can give it a permanent home.

Anyone interested in a Star Party at Doc's place this summer?

Changed Ruby's oil, took the Captain and did a 65 mile loop out through Huntsville, then down the north end of the Pig Trail & back home to Elkins.

Then I changed the oil in the tractor and greased all the zerks, cleaned & greased the belly mower.

    Productive day all round!

The center console e-brake is the hill assist. Shift into gear, clutch down. Hold the brake on, begin to let clutch out slowly. When you feel the clutch begin to grab, let the brake go.

I learned to do this in my 1973 Maverick, that e-brake was operated by your left hand, twist the handle and let it slide in to release. The T-handle was under the dash near your left knee!

So last week I made a guest appearance on the Explore Alliance Live Global Star Party program.

Somebody must've enjoyed it, I got a call from the fellow who runs the company...

"We got a lot of nice feedback on you appearance."

    "Gee, thanks!"

"What would you think about doing your own show?"

"Wow! Sure I guess, sounds like fun."

"Good! We were thinking a weekly show about astronomy and teaching STEM using that low-cost thing you do. We could call it: the How Do You Know? Show."

    "Err..."

"Great! ...You start Monday. 4pm central time."

    "Um...."

"It'll be great! See you then!" *click*

Holy crap! What've I gotten myself into now!

Wanna watch the buffoonery in action? Here's the link: 🤣🙃🤯🥺🤪

    No, this is NOT photoshopped...

Yes, I did cheat a bit. Reset the milage at the top of Crossover hill in Fayetteville and coasted almost 3 miles down.

So SURE I believe in the 40 mpg slingshot. If I can do it with my 2017 Hyundai SUV, anyone can.

That's the problem with political monoliths. Zero accountability.

It's taken 15k dead and 5 sexual assault allegation for the SLIGHTEST hint of accountability for New York's Andrew "Murder" Cuomo...

Sorry, but what the hell does this have to do with electric vehicle taxes, or any vehicle for that matter??

    just wondering 🤔🙄

the problem I see is that here in California they add taxes to gas they say are to maintain the roads and then they also add taxes to your car registration that they also say are to maintain the roads

and then - - they dont maintain the roads!!!!

If these idiots had to actually be accountable for the money of ours that they spend they could probably reduce all of these damn taxes

Precisely. Also saw that with "fire safety tax" "support our schools tax" and many others in my years in CA

The article mentions states adopting a per kilowatt charging tax "to make up for lost revenues from gas taxes".

The greenie weenies pushed for more efficient cars, then raised taxes to "make up lost revenues"

Same thing in California. Raise energy prices to force conservation, then utilities petition government to raise prices "to make up for lost revenues" (They are entitled to your money, see!?)

Now once again with electric cars.

    The squeeze is ON!

I also went with Pirelli p-zeros (all weather). I did give up some of the straight line performance of the Cooper Zeon S3 I had on the back, but the improvement in damp & cold weather has been really dramatic.

Summer tires felt really unsafe when wet and lost at least half of their traction below 50 F. With P-zero's all around I feel I've really improved my ride in performance AND safety. Cornering is sooo much better now that I've ditched the Kendas up front as well!
