I am measuring to right below the top, per the pictures Bill put up

Bill,
I did the measurements as above. My front height is 6.7" and rear is 7" from the points you mentioned. The amount of showing thread on both shocks match what you recommended. So if the tire is bowed in at the top, what am I missing?

Whats the widest tire I can put on the stock SL rim keeping the same height?
-
One of the best investments I have made so far, well worth the price. I may have to do another alignment to get them spot on. I use 0 in rear and 4 clicks on front for daily driving...

Example of measuring the free length of the threaded section on our new Hahn/QA1 Spherical Coilovers for Slingshot. In this instance, this is our standard rear setting for stock height, a measurement of 1".
Bill,
Since in didn't have the instructions in didn't measure. I have a base with SL rims. Do you have any bench mark? -
Bill,
I reset the shocks to your recommendation,. But both front tires are bowed in vertically at the top by a bit, much less than with the original setup. Do I need to raise them more?
Also is there any reason to not set the front and rears for different rebound settings?
Thx!

Did you take off the back panel to install the rear shock? If so, was removing the panel problematic?
You have to remove the upper panel and the right back panel... Well worth it to make the install easier
-
Sure will. I presume you mean pics of where on the chassis we are measuring height?
More so of pics when you are measuring the shocks for the height setting

A further install tip:
We are finding that the lower stock mounts on the front control arms tend to compress a bit from having been on the stock coilovers. This slightly crimped mount can make it difficult to slide in the new coilover and precision stainless steel mounting bushings we provide. If you encounter this, there is an easy fix. Simply use a prybar to spread each ear of the mounting bracket outward slightly. The prybar end will rest against the head of the bracket's mounting bolt, in between said bolt head and bracket ear. A little pry outward on each, and that lower mount will drop right in.
Bill,
Could you do a picture of the height adjustment? I am a visual guy.

I thought it was 799 for the pair?

Still there

Installed... I had no instructions to set it up to match stock so I left it alone. Rears were a breeze. Fronts are a bitch as they are just a tad too long to get both ends in. Put the lower in first then had a friend bounce on the tire so I could get the upper in. Don't know if there was some trick? Did a quick ride and much nicer then stock
-
Do you mean instructions to install them or to set them up?
Either would have been good.. He was supposed to have a guide to measure stock then set these up.... Got em on, but the fronts took two people! -
I am trying to help out my local dealer, as they are great folks. They had someone back out of a deal on a 2016 SL LE and want to move it. They unfortunately registered the warranty with Polaris on 3/30/2016. They are willing to sell at $600 under MSRP or give you a $750 credit towards any extended warranty.
You can reach them at Indian, Victory, Slingshot Motorcycles, Polaris ATV’s, Ranger, RZR, New and Used | AHM CrossRoads, Highland Park, IL. 847 780 0333. Ask for Jason or Barry, and them them Scott send you... I think I will get a free hat or something

Did anyone get any instructions with the shocks? I thought bill was going to put something in
I found the qa1 instructions, but I thought bill was supposed to have something for setting ours up? -

Pretty please??? I can't afford a turbo

See post #89
That was post 89 ?? You mean post 88 I assume?

Do we need to do another laser alignment once we put these on? (staying stock height)

Your Sling is in that interesting range of the wheel/tire combination being far enough removed from stock that the stock coilover shocks' pre-programmed behavior is not calibrated to accommodate the difference. This typically occurs from two primary factors: stiffer sidewalls, and different wheel/tire weight. These changes have rendered the stock shock valve damping characteristics as now essentially a mismatch.
An adjustable coilover such as this will be effective in allowing you to again achieve damping action that will match your machine's new needs, much like your stock settings were a decent match for the stock wheel/tire combo. You will have to experiment a bit to really dial in the changes, but that's a given anytime we add this level of adjustability to suspension. Of particular concern is the wheel/tire weight difference vs. stock, which can significantly challenge a coilover that was not calibrated for the different weight. We see the effect of this greater weight primarily in rebound damping changes that the adjustable damping enables, and you'll have excellent control over same with this package.I went on faith and your reputation and ordered.... All I honestly want is a smooth ride for CHICAGO roads :). When will they ship? And thanx for coming out with a affordable option!!!
