Give your local GM dealers a call. They may well have one in stock. Under $30, and they use same part number as Polaris.

I can speak for F4 quality; have been riding bikes for 50 years, nearly all with windshields. Nearly all were easily scratched if not super careful cleaning. Not so with F4's. I've had two, neither have ever scratched. Extra hard surface apparently.
I look thru mine so can't offer suggestions on height.
Call F4 and they can help you.
As to the Ripper; I sold mine for $100. It cost me $75 to ship!!!! Never again will I try to ship a Slingshot windshield.

Good info Edward. Thanks. Will prob drive up to dealer lot this Sunday and do a walk around to look at them. Will check out the label to make sure anything we like is Swedish made. Have read they have shut down plants in Ghent, Sweden, and US due to virus. Obviously this will have some impact on future availability.

Display MoreWe were looking at the Volvo suv's, but ended up getting the S60 sedan - according the the parts source label on it most parts are from Sweden & Belgium, and the motor is from Sweden and transmission from Japan with the final assembly being in South Carolina (China was not on the list at all) - Be careful though every model is different - I looked at the label of the S90 sedan and most of its parts including the motor are from China - - I never checked the parts source labels on any of the SUV's, but would have no problem buying one if you are correct about the motor being from Belgium. At our dealer the parts source list was right on the "sticker" of each Volvo
If going used part sources might be different - I know the plant in SC where the S60 is assembled just began production in 2019
Now more to your question - We are really loving the S60 so far - most comfortable seats in any car I have ever driven and very comfortable ride the infotainment system is a bit different, but easy to adjust to - I also love the driving modes - reminds me of my pedal commander on the sling in that I can pick eco, comfort & sport modes - - havent tried eco yet - - If the SUV's are anything like the S60 I would highly recommend at least getting out and taking one for a test drive both my wife and I have absolutely no regrets going for our first Volvo.
As a side note I also really like that Volvos (at least around here) seem to be much rarer. When I am on my ride to and from work across town each day I see Audi's and Lexus and all of the other "luxury" brands at ever single stop light on the other hand most days the only Volvo's I see are the ones on the lot when I pass the Volvo dealer - - - - I like having a car that is not something everyone has - - just like my Sling

Edward....didn't you recently get a Volvo? Wife and I are in looking stage for SUV and like what i see in the UX40, maybe UX60. Initially, after finding that Volvo was bought by Chinese company, I lost interest. But now find that the motors are still made in Sweden. The 40 is built in Belgium I think. Anyway, I'm looking for owner reviews. Virus prevents us from doing anything at the moment, but Volvo and equivalent Audi are high on our list. Perhaps used If I find low miles and right color.

I once had a slow leak in the rear tire, jacked it up in the garage in order to roll tire to find a small finishing nail in the tread. Then found that I was unable to insert the hole cleaner/reamer tool. Simply wasn't strong enough! Tire tread is tough, sidewalls are not! Finally had to get hand drill out and make hole larger so that I could get a plug in.
Got to thinking how I would manage away from home; maybe on an incline, or an area where it would be too hard to roll the SS to search for a nail; then how hard it might be to even get the hole cleaner/plugger shoved through!
I now carry a jack, hand drill, plugger, air compressor, wheel nut bar (in case I need to remove the wheel) , and a can of compressed slime.
All of this fits in one compartment with room to spare.

Check out the recalls underway by Kia and Hundai. Various motors and problems, and current Souls with IVT transmissions are having major problems.
Theres much I like about my Soul, but had I done the research, I wouldn't have bought it. It has the 2.0L.

We drove one yesterday with white (alabaster they call it) leather interior. Looked sharp. Black available too. Their middle level has leather edges with suede seat/back, supposedly cooler in summer. That UX 200 is an interesting vehicle, looking at it online. Didn't know of that model before.

Ed, no direct experience but am also looking for similar size. In researching various brands, motors, transmissions, etc, i learned that after a Chinese Co. bought Volvo they began, in 2016, putting Chinese motors in their cars. I didn't research it further and have no idea how those motors have fared. Personally, am looking at Mazda CK-5, and Honda CRV. Have ruled out Toy Rav-4 as its 8 speed transmission is getting a lot of complaints. Not altogether enthused with idea of a 1.5 turbo in the Honda either. Still in looking stage but the CK-5 is at top of my list mainly because its 2.4 (2.5?) motor and 6 speed transmission has been around awhile and seems to be well regarded.

My SLR LE came with a 305-30-20 and Polaris makes fenders for that size; however, I'm running a 315-35-20, and would like to know if anyone else has tried a larger tire with that fender?

Can anyone tell me, what type of oil filter for a Slingshot SL?
I've used Hengst, Bosch, and Wix (in $5 range) on both my Slingshots. I particularly like WIX; somehow it looks more substantial to me...don't ask me why tho! I order a bunch at a time from here:

Congrats on your new SS. I have an '18 and after the first 300 oil change, I did the next at 5k, then 10K, 15K, etc. Easy to remember.

Always good to have options ?so folks can make their own choices. I thought I'd like a paddle shift on the Vanderhall and paid extra for it. Turned out, I didn't like it any better than on a car. Seemed too much the same. Went back to Slingshot and much happier. As they say "diff strokes......"
I do think the new motor will be a nice change and with a 4 year warranty, whats to lose?

I think the market for SS has become relatively saturated. Same thing happened with BRP Spyders so they introduced two new low priced models to bring in new riders. Like Polaris, they had hugh rally's sponsored by the manufacturer in the early days. Now, these rally's have become smaller and smaller and vendors have gone out of business. If Polaris would update the design and get the automatic out it might bring in new (younger) folks. Sadly the Sling is not selling good anymore and dealers have to rely on quads and/or two wheelers.

Wife and I have heated gear but you know we're almost 72 oh, don't take that personally fun funcycle, but I have no desire to ride in cold weather anymore.
At 85, I seldom ride much below 50F.
