Will start posting in here since the question comes after just having the recall completed. My base did not have the double axle nut prior to now. When I picked it up yesterday the dealer put marks across both nuts and onto the swingarm. When I arrived home after a 2 hour ride it appears the entire axle has spun with the nuts still locked in place. Should the axle be rotating?

I have had a +3 on my base since Don began shipping the original versions. It works great and second how easy it is to clean and no scratches. I clean mine at every gas up and have been using the standard crappy paper towels at the stations with zero scratches on mine. It still looks new. I also like that it beads up water as I have been caught in a couple of downpours and it is pretty amazing how the water tends to bead and run off without any treatment on it at all.

My only nit is the obscured vision when looking out the curved section mainly on the drivers side but hear the new versions do not have this. Highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a new shield.

Just got mine home from winter storage this week. Too busy this spring to get it out any earlier. I wonder how many others are like me. In no hurry at all to get the recall (swing arm) done. I am out of warranty and figure another season of riding, on the original axle and bearings, is fine with me. Called my dealer and he has to order the parts. Will take a month and then I may just wait another month or two until this season is winding down and get all of the recalls done before putting in storage for winter. Figure mine will also benefit from any experience my dealer has gained in replacing a bunch of these.

For example, dealer said they have had issues with almost all of the original axle's being bad when they pull them apart and have just been replacing them with a new axle on every sling they do the recall work on. Reason I say this is some dealers may be cutting corners and just putting it back together with a damaged axle in which case the new bearings won't last very long. I would request a new axle when having the recall work done.

Where did you guys ride? My SS is still in winter storage but I took the sleds to the farm for the summer and saw a couple of slings parked at the kwik trip in Wabasha.

It's been awhile since that first ride a couple years back with everyone here but would be great to get together for another run sometime!

I participated in one of the calls today. Very good conversation that was supposed to be 60 min and nearly took all of 90 min. Hopefully Polaris takes all of the feedback to heart and continues to make improvements to this unique and fun ride. Now where's my check......

I dunno. I tend to think that if all Trump decides to do is go play golf every day for the next 4 years he couldn't screw this country up any worse than it already is from a political standpoint. Gubment as usual is not working and I highly doubt any one man can fix it. It would be nice if he can effect any positive change at all but unfortunately there are other forces at work much larger than the POTUS......

It was very screwed up when it was becoming clear that Trump was going to win and how the media began to bash the shit out of the guy. This went on for hours all while someone would chime in about how important it is for Trump to bring the nation back together and serve every citizen.

The dumb shits cannot figure out that this type of dialogue they have been spewing is what has been tearing the country apart, pitting neighbor against neighbor. If Clinton was leading the returns last night all we would have heard is how great a leader she is going to be and how she will fix all of our problems. Its such bullshit and then they wonder why some of the ill informed masses begin to riot......

Same as others already posted. Fill tank with best premium gas I can get, connect battery tender and cover on in the corner.

Unbelievable. Just unbelievable. With the investigation underway (as now it's pretty obvious it should never have been closed in July), it will be a mystery to me how anyone could cast a vote for a candidate being investigated by the FBI. Somehow she wants full transparency of classified and/or unclassified information related to the investigation when she has clearly been hiding (and lying about) this shit the entire time. Have to say it again. Unbelievable.

The dance around this one should get interesting to say the least.

The worst part of the spyder are all of the onboard nannies. I sat on a few of the new models when the SS was getting some work done at the dealer. First thing I noticed was I could not get comfortable on any of them. Weird and very cramped seating positions. Seems like they are made for smaller riders. That dude in the picture is probably 5' 3" and weighs in at a buck fifty.

Polaris seems to taking the right approach here and proactively getting these replaced. While recalls and service bulletins are a PITA I would rather they do the right thing and fix it. I cannot be the only one that will begin riding next season with no more factory warranty attached. I have decided not to extend it even though there are existing and ongoing known issues with the machine. These factory attempts at least help out with that situation and short of any permanent fixes I plan on looking for aftermarket solutions if and when that time comes and my SS requires them. The SS is still one of the most fun toys created on the planet and one that I will be hanging onto for some time to come.
