I will try to make it to a Monday night soon. My office is a couple miles away and I can come after work.

Hi All,
I have a 2017 SL LE and want to keep the stock stereo but add an amp and the armrest speakers. I was thinking of mounting the amp under the driver's seat with spacers under it to let water flow if needed. I have a couple questions:
1) What is the best way to route the wiring from the stock stereo through the SS to the amp and out to the stock and new speakers?
2) How is everyone connecting their amps to the DC 12V system? (I don't want to run the battery down when not in use)
3) Is there a decent quality amp that won't break the bank? (I want to hear the music in the cockpit so something not too big)I've seen lots of great advice on here but can't seem to navigate back to those threads easily.

We took our SS to Cape Coral Florida's 1st Bike Night of the year. The event is huge and attracts I think over 20,000. They have 3 stages and vendors etc.. This year it was set up on the newly renovated street that widened the sidewalks and narrowed the streets. The event was approx seven city blocks long (maybe 8). We parked next to another sling on one end for easy access to leave. The police dept. found it necessary to have one way in and one way out. The "in" being where we parked and the "out" at the other end of the event. The SS had a large crowd around her the whole time we were there. We decided that is was too crowded the way they had it set up and departed early. Instead of letting us travel 1/2 block to get out, they made us drive through 20,000 plus people to get to the other side. So with bikes parked in one lane and vendors across from them on the side walks there was a single lane for foot traffic and bikes exiting and entering. It was a shit show. Most people were taking pictures and giving a thumbs up, but there were way too many disgruntled bikers screaming and yelling at us. My wife was freaked out and so was I a bit. It was almost to the point where I thought I might have to get out and defend us. Some guys really got in our face. It is was really disheartening to see this behavior. It took us almost an hour to get through the crowd. We won't be attending any more bike nights as a result.

Mine arrived Saturday but haven't had a chance to break them out yet.

I just ordered a pair, can't wait. Thanks everyone!

I added the convex stick on mirrors and they greatly improved my field of sight. Wouldn't want to drive without them. It was my first mod also. I don't have a before pic unfortunately.

I've been looking at options for weekend trip bags that would work without buying luggage racks. These look like they would work well with the roll hoops. Does anyone else use something similar?

Took the Cherry Bomb out for a sunset cruise. Nothing better to ease the stress of a Monday!

@'pricejh61 here are the pictures I was able to get without removing the seat and floor pan. Like I said in my earlier post, a good portion of the heat was coming from under the speaker pod where the tubing meets. And I mean a lot of heat was coming from
This is an I.R. image I found that supports my finding.
Also the complete left side along the floor pan needs filled too. I also put an adhesive backed insulation on the bottom of the floor pan and secured it with spray on adhesive then sprayed undercoating on it to help protect it and add more insulation..
Picture of bottom of floor pan and water pipe foam insulation with undercoat applied
Another thing that helped along the transmission tunnel was the hood vent from Zero Decibel Motorsports. Replaces your fake hood vent with a real one and is relativity inexpensive, especially considering how much stuff for the Slingshot usually cost!
This really helped along the Wife's left leg.
looks good too!Slingshot Center Hood Vent | zero decibel motorsports
You need to have the Slingshot on jack stands or ramps to access the underside. Just start looking for holes along that side and use your imagination to plug them up. Remember it needs to be at least somewhat water resistant to hold up. I may have to redo some of it in the future, but now I know what to fill in so it should be easier.
I like the vent, was it easy to bend and paint? Might be hard to match the midnight cherry but black or white would look good too.

Nope it did not, came back on today, heading to the dealer tomorrow.
-
I jumped in it today and the check engine light was off. I guess it fixed itself.

Everything works as it should. It doesn’t start without the clutch engaged and even cruise control works with the check engine light on.

It’s inevitable if you live in south Florida you are going to get love bugs and many other bugs. I found this for the bike a while back but it works great for bug removal on the SS. It’s great on the windshield.

Called the dealer that I bought it from yesterday in Ft. Myers FL and was told to bring it in today. The girl writing up the order tried to charge me as if it were a repair. After 25min we finally came to the understanding that this is a warranty issue. At that point she said "well we are really backed up and might be able to get to it at the end of next week so why don't you give us a call then". Also that the manager couldn't find the code and they needed to do a full diagnostic. I knew this dealer has bad reviews on their service deptartment but was willing to give them a chance. Nope not any more! Thankfully we have another dealer close by in Punta Gorda so I drove it straight there. They were professional, knew the problem and made an appointment for early next week to fix the sensor. The only reason I didn't buy my SS from them in the first place is that their inventory sits outside.

Yep that’s a no go too. I’ll have to call the dealer in the AM. I did find out that they cross threaded one of the battery box screws. Ugh

Anyone familiar with this one? Came on after 460mi. Is it safe to drive before I get to the dealer?
