"Mitch's" wing, is that the gentleman's name? is there a picture so I can see it? I am trying to first see if it is worth installing? actual value or just aesthetics. . . . . . I know the rear gets pretty squirrelly for the most part so I just want to make sure this will help and isn't just for looks. although they do look pretty friggin cool. lol

getting anxious as time draws close. I cant wait to meet everyone and see everyone's slingshots. My wife said yesterday that she didn't really think there was too many things that can be modified on the slingshot. She gave me the thumbs up to do whatever I wanted because it was my own toy. I bought my roof and now am looking at maybe the spoiler. anyone with ideas? good or bad idea for a spoiler? which model or design to get?

    Welcome

haha.. yes, I am new to the SS world. I have ridden motorcycles my entire life. We look forward to meeting all of the locals and joining the rides.

The same here, rode motorcycles my whole life. raced dirt bikes in high school, and street bikes from there on until 2012. got into 2 fairly good accidents and wife took away the 2 wheel authorizations lol. so I got two wheels with 1 training wheel. She bought off on it lol. Cant wait to meet everyone ourselves at Uncorked II. I bought the 17 base black and starting to add mods now. I put in my own radio with speakers and a backup camera. still need to figure out how to get a powered antennae due to radio stations not coming in all that well.

Welcome @Dknelson these are a great group of guys. a lot of knowledge in the group. we bought a 2017 base model, I have added myself a marine radio, kicker speakers in the roll bars and sides by the seats and a backup camera. Just getting started here and its a head turner. Love every minute of it. Welcome, and hope you can make it to uncorked II in april.

NICE, then I should be safe in running them. awesome. I will have to get that in writing and print it out and take with me. so IF I do get pulled over I can just pull that out and let them read it. I hope it works. Thanks for looking out Ross.

That's funny, my youngest doesn't want to get out either. she knows when we are getting close to home and says "don't go home, lets ride more!". I have the stock tires, and am wanting to switch to the larger tires. Wondering if it is worth it though. Right now it has the 17s in the front and 18 in the rear. I am wanting to take it up to 20 in the front, but not sure what would the rear have to go to? the chart that I found stated that it would have to be a 22. But I don't want to put 3K into tires just yet.

Well so far. . . . . . and I have to caveat that quite heavily. . . . . . . so far, I don't peel out if I can help it, I don't go over the speed limit, this thing gets enough attention on its own. The only thing that I have done is show off the LED's once in awhile. Other than that I follow everything else by the book. I absolutely wont ride without a helmet. I have been in far too many crashes on 2 wheels that has taught me very valuable lessons, and last but not least, 9 times out of 10, I usually have one of my kids in the bike with me. Plus I am coming up on 50, I ran out of ya-yas a long time ago lol. I just enjoy riding.

I have searched for hours now on LED lights for Virginia and cant find anything. the only law that I have found so far is the one I quoted earlier showing NEON. which I get why it is illegal considering it a gas and third order implications, but nothing in the books about LED's. if anyone can uncover something that would be awesome. I am just wanting to make sure that when and not IF I get pulled over, that I have some kind of argument for the officer and wont get a ticket. However, I don't mind getting pulled over, it gives me a chance to show off the slingshot a little bit more lol. maybe even convince the officer to go buy one lol.

I just received this from a friend of a friend kind of thing lol, this is from the Virginia State Police -

Neon lights are illegal anywhere on or in a motor vehicle in Virginia, unless they are covered and UNLIT while the vehicle is being operated on a public highway.

the part that I don't understand is I can light up the headrests and fronts but the wheels and underglow cant be blue. the cop said that if I was running any other color it would be OK. just NOT blue. I thought for sure that the headrests would be closer to Police roof height and "might just maybe" cause a little confusion, but he said "nope, its the wheels" lol.

I sent off a message to the dealer yesterday and they have yet to respond. I am at about 475 miles so I am almost at the 500 mile service. I asked them if they would have the replacements there and ready to install when I brought it down for service. So depending on the response I get from them will determine how discussions go after that lol. From previous experiences with this service department I am expecting to be calling their Managers in the head office with several complaints lol, we will see I guess.

So how about this weather huh? I am loving it, I took it out yesterday riding around and showing it off. specially when lit up this thing gets everyones attention. its awesome. Which leads me to another question. . . . . Has anyone had any issues with LED's being lit up while driving? I was told by the guy that did the install that "blue" was the issue for driving with the "wheels" lit up due to motion and people think that you are law enforcement. Not that the headrests are lit up blue, just the wheels.

going to have to do something, I think I will try the warranty thing first lol, that is the cheapest way out of course. the passenger seat at the bottom of the back piece is completely loose. I messaged them and asked them about it. I will keep you posted with their response.
