they are everywhere around central IL. I keep a sharp eye out for them but this one came out of no where

last night I unvolunteeringly made some drastick modifications to my baby. I was driving home at about 9:30. I had just got off the interstate and was on a section of frontage road cruzing along. I looked down to check my speed and when I looked up there was a deer crossing the road. It was a matter of half a second and I made impact. The deer flew up in the air and over my head. Scared the hell outta me. Needless to say, it didn`t do the SSmuch good.
It tore the left fender off and bent the headlight mounting bar back into the tiire. The spoiler was bent down into pavement. The entire hood assembly and spoiler assembly is junk. Headlight assembly shattered into pieces.
so it looks like my summer of fun is over. As long as it takes Polaris to get parts and then to get it repainted the custom color it will be months before it is back on the road. This sucks
BTW I was only going 50 and I was unhurt.

I am going to try for next year but I won't stay at the Comfort Inn. That woman is hateful I am still arguing with them over my cancellation. I called at 2:30 central time (3:30 Eastern) and was put on hold for 10 minutes. When I told her I needed to cancel she said " This is F'n ridiculous" After I gave her my info she said she was going to charge me for the whole stay as it was after 4:00 pm. I told her it was 2.41 where I was and that meant it was 3:41 there. She said I was an F'n idiot, it was 4:00 and she was going to charge me. A few minutes later I got an E-mail with the cancellation info and it was sent at 3:53 pm. (still not 4:00 pm). Anyway, I had to call my credit card and block the charge and go through the resolution center. Lucky for me I have the confirmation letter from the reservation that says I have until 4:00 Monday to cancel and the cancellation email time stamped at 3:53.
So what other hotels will be hosting?

You have no idea how bad this sucks. This is the forth vacation in a row that has been cancelled last minute. At least it won't be as bad as the Jamaica trip we cancelled or the Mexico trip as far as costs go. The worst though was a simple camping trip. Pulled the 5th wheel 300 miles, paid for a week camping, weeks rental of a golf car, etc. Wasn't there 4 hours and my phone rang. I knew it was NOT going to be good. You just get that feeling.
Anyway, still have a slim possibility of pulling this off but I am not hopeful

I have already left for the Smokies.... several days ago.... in my mind!!!
I left early this week, (in my head). Unfortunately a family issue has come up and I very well may have to turn around and go home. I won't know for sure until Saturday, but I see cancellation phone calls in my near future.

Enough with the rain talk. It's not going to rain...
But just in case, I am bringing stock wheels just in case. R888's don't like rain.

Since we don't have many corners around central Illinois, I have been playing around with more of a drag race setup for better launches.
Front 8 compression 2 rebound
Rear 3 compression 6 reboundIt helps some weight transfer quicker to the rear and holds it there longer.

just catching this thread. Hope everything woks out OK for @Noel Hughes. And I hope it doesn't delay delivery of my super secret custom order engine cap set that I am hoping arrives before i leave for MV. I know some folks will be jealous when they see them, like @'STYLN

I tried to use a vacume pump to bleed my brakes when I powder coated the calipers. I finally gave up. I just put a tube on the bleeder valve and opened it and let it sit. Took about 15min a wheel until fluid ran out. When all three were done, I went to the two person, pump the brakes method and it worked fine. If you do it this way, keep checking the reservoir to make sure it doesn't run dry.

I am honored @rabtech .
I don't think it would be to hard to do. You could wire it to a spdt switch and on way would shut off the left or right depending on how you wire it and the other way would shut off both.
BTW, I just signed up for ride 001.

you need to put a separate lock on each wheel. That way you can use it in super cool doughnuts.

They never said anything about no crazies allowed.
-
Just got off the phone with them. They said the person to make those reservations won't be in until 3:00 this afternoon. Never heard anything like that.

I have the Toyo R888 on the rear. It is almost to the wear bars. I have a new tire that I will bring with me to SSITS. Also plan on bringing the stockers in case rain is forcast. The R

Thanks @FunCycle and @DKF Texas for the info. Set up an alignment for Friday morning. Sucks I can't get in sooner. I might not have front tires left by then.
