Darrell, my bad. It was DKF, my duh. Liked your tires too but rolled the dice on Bridgestone due to prior use on an SUV and good price.

I liked the rep of the Continentals Danger Darrel got and it was a toss up with my Bridgestones and the Conti DWS all seasons. Both very good bang for the buck.

Didn't love the Kendas on my 2015 base but replaced them last week with the fronts still looking pretty good at 14K miles. Since I like to ride year round and get the jones even near freezing I realized that summer performance tires were verboten even being stored at or near freezing. I compromised and got Bridgestone Potenza RE970 all season Pole Positions, the front slightly wider at 215 and the rear at 275. I was blown away on several counts. Not only is the grip and handling far better, the ride, I'm guessing due to softer sidewalls, is so good I moved the shocks settings up two clicks. As a single income retiree who is more than a little over budget remodeling the homestead I will have to wait a while for summer ultra high po tires (and wheels and turbo or supercharger, etc.). Been loving the sling coming on two years and feel much more confident rain or shine now.

Unfortunately I lack the computer skills to take a picture off the net and post it here as others do. The last two election cycles we had a great alternative candidate who would clearly be better than the two we have today. I am giving the opportunity to delight the forum to the first one who feels like posting pics of the man who should be running again-Vermin Supreme.

I grew up in a centrist Republican family and that informed my choices since the fifties. At this point, however, I don't care if it comes out that Bill and Hillary stopped off at the Government Printing Office after killing Vince Foster so they could forge Obamas' birth certificate. I have as much Obama fatigue as anyone, but one can vehemently disagree with policies, the right to do so our most cherished one, without stooping to the level of demonization we have all witnessed over the last few years. When I read things like SCUM OF THE EARTH with multiple exclamation points I see it as the written equivalent of shouting the same thing. I hope to hell such posters would never say that to any woman, or man, to their face.
Let's keep in perspective what unites us in this forum and as a nation. We have far, far more in common with each other than this thread has shown lately. I have witnessed and experienced firsthand the camaraderie among fellow sling owners face to face, and a little too much bitterness anonymously. I can be as snarky as anybody else so I speak not only to you but to a mirror. Let's all try to keep from becoming the Polarized Slingshot community.

Bill Martin, Benghazi was a tragedy all around but we both know that the Secretary of State has no more authority to call in the troops than your or I. Not a defense of the players but between our illustrious Congress beating this long dead horse and Trumps' mouth I have about had it with the GOP. Your are dead on about our paltry choices.

DKF, if you have never seen Trump show disrespect to our military you must have slept through his insulting the heroic service of John McCain and the Gold Star family during and after the Democratic convention. After being shot down by the most deadly and sophisticated AAA the world has ever known over North Vietnam his captors, as a propaganda move, offered to release him because his father was an Admiral. He refused to leave his fellow POWs and endured years of torture for his courage.
Then he grossly insulted the immigrant family whose son, Captain Khan, gave his life for his fellow troops when checking security on his day off. How that is acceptable to anyone on this forum who claims to love this country I can't fathom. I was in then out of the war in SE Asia while Mr. McCain was languishing in conditions we can never really imagine.
I don't care much for Hillary Clinton but I can't for the life of me see how any veteran or even those who claim to support them even consider Donald Trump worthy of being the Commander in Chief.

My earlier post was just to make you aware of the fans, that the sound is normal. The lights are great.

This is a common issue with the HID lights and the reason users install the headlight cutoff switch. I installed the LED lights from Cycle Springs and it was easy even for me. Be aware that the ballast fans fire off as soon as you turn the ignition on, not a warning, just a heads up. Great mod.

I just got in from target shooting, a hobby I have enjoyed almost 60 years (except in SE Asia). When I read some of the comments about "the Dems taking our guns" I think to myself-Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore, we're in Slackjaw Nation! Survived Nam and Nixon. This too shall pass. Let the fringes have their day and those of us in the vast center can focus on the inherent strength of our system of checks and balances. Despite our pathetic political class the glass is still at least half full.

I also use State Farm and when I added the sling in 12/15 my agent in Culpeper loved it but it wasn't even in his computer yet. He wrote it as a motorcycle, which had to be a separate policy from my car so no additional bundling discount like I get with the home/car. I pay $465 for full coverage annual premium ending 12/19. $100 deductible. In checking my policy just now I see the body style listed as "sprt trg", whatever the hell that means. Face time NLT Monday with my agent to see what is up.
Suddenly occurred to me that body style is sport touring.
