    Yea, I have not posted much on this forum, I was pretty active on the old forum. I just read a lot and do work thru email and such. I have started to move toward electric vehicles and the cool stuff you can do with those. I have two Tesla's now and working on a project GEM car.

    I would like to convert my sling to electric (no fumes to worry about then :) ), just need to find the time ......

    By all means everyone I did not intent to offend anyone, just venting.

    @SlingRider - @MikeKC you have to understand that we are look at each other as family. Especially those who have been on here for a very long time.
    Your comments did come across very negative, but we (well I) was pretty certain you did not mean it that way.

    I am part of the family, been on this site and the "other" site since before the slingshot was for sale. I owned the second slingshot in Kansas City, I have help and worked on countless projects for and with the slingshot and will continue to do so. But sometime you need to speak your mind and that is what I was doing. Real family understand that (as you did) and life goes on. If you can't be real with your family something is wrong. :)

    @angie@WP and everyone else,
    Don't take my comments the wrong way, I love the setup but we have all known for a long time this is an issue. The timing is crazy tho as I was going to have a local exhaust shop rip into it this weekend and find a solution. Change it to side exit, lower the pipes, something. I am just glad something is in the works and sounds relatively simple.

    Best,
    Mike

    I don't know why customers that have already have dropped 2K on a system have to wait to solve this problem - seems odd to me. I talked to Welter at length in the Ozarks last year about this issue. You would think that if they have an answer they would just tell us.

    We need a set of factory wheels and tires. Stock 17" - we are using then on another project and guess what, I only have two. LOL

    We are installing then on a GEM Car, if you know what those are. Looks for a resonable price, if you have a set laying around and would like to help out a one off project hit me up.

    Thanks
    Mike

    I have been told there are two ways to help with the WP Duels -

    1. Put an 8" extension on the end of the pipes and then slide on your mufflers - Told it works well and gets the exhaust outside the vortex - not sure it's the look I would want.
    2. Add a Med height rear lip/spoiler to the sling. You know the ones that wrap around the whole back deck - I might go this route and just have it painted to match the sling.

    So at this point I just got off the phone a friend of mine at KCPD north patrol(same division that pulled me over this morning). They have been running the traps on this all day. Literally the whole department has been talking about this today. They have been talking to the MOHP as well. Still at this time no one knows the correct answer to helmet or no helmet.

    This is the craziest thing I have ever seen. The law makers of MO deserve a medal for this one.

    @Red
    Great info and thank Office White for the information. I still don't agree based on the way it is written and your response is timely as:

    I was pulled over this morning on my way to work on I-29 by an office on a motorcycle. He asked where my helmet was, I stated that the law changed in Aug. and I no longer needed one.
    After a few words back and forth I presented him with a copy of the law change in Aug. - he said, wait here.
    After several other officers arrived and more discussion was had it all turned out very cordial and none of the officers knew of any law change, they thanked me for the information. They all also threw there hands up and handed me my license and said get out here we have no idea if you need a helmet or not.

    Whoever wrote this law really screwed the pouch on this one. Before it was very clear, helmet was required, now it is very subjective and everyone has a different option. Thanks for that MO.

    Im not going to be able to sleep tonight, So ready to head out in the morning. I might need the rain gear :(

    Looks like the rain should clear out by about 2pm, I will be arriving from the north at around 3 or 4pm so hopefully no rain gear needed for me, fingers crossed.
