I bought mine (2019) and my dealer said one year also. He was trying to sell me the extended warranty/service agreement. Really couldn’t pin down which it was but they said it would add three years to the factory warranty. Contract language seemed to imply only one year.

Anyway, the owners manual clearly states that the factory warranty for 2019 is 2 years.

That is exactly what I thought and it sounded like. The problem is the head guy said this with the extra warrenty push just like you said. I didn't expect this from Mancuso.

I am looking at a 2019 ,SLR Icon and Mancuso says the warranty now 12 months. Our 2017 was 24 months. Will someone please tell me what's up.

I hate to say this but you are right. This their first Bike night of 2019. They had not even thought about slingshots being there. After our meeting they are all in for it including inviting every owner on their data base. This is a first for them and kinda shows how much we have been neglected in the past, But no more we really need to make this happen. They also want to do Slingshot specific meet ups .

    THIS IS GREAT NEWS !

After trying for a year to get a Slingshot dealership to sponsor a slingshot club we now have one!

A special shout-out to Lauren Kirkbride the marketing manager at RIDENOW Powersports in Austin. We finally have a dealership willing to support two of our local clubs, VOS, (Veteran Owned Slingshots) of the Killeen, Fort Hood, Temple area, and the new Heart of Texas Slingshot club for all of us in Central TX.

She stated they would be willing to host meet ups, ride ins, show and shines and are open to other Slingshot events. Starting off with a bike night with a special invite to slingers this Thursday the 23rd at their dealership, starting at 6pm. Located at 11405 N. Interstate 35 Austin This is at Breaker and I35 on the N. bound side.

This is great news, no other dealership has stepped up around here. They view it as a win win for them and our clubs. We agree it's a start.

Please all local slingers from Killeen, Fort Hood, Belton, Temple, Georgetown, Austin and in between this is our chance to show off, meet up and support a local dealership that is willing to support us. Again the bike night starts at 6pm at the dealership, they will have food, drinks, and live music. This should be a blast.

So slingers get off your ass, quit complaining there is nothing to do. Show up, Show off Sign up with our local clubs to be notified about our activities.

    As I said it's a start, finally.

    Jamesgn:thumbsup:

Calling all Slingers in central TX.

Ridenow powersports, formally Woods in Austin is having a bike night at 6pm next Thursday the 23rd. Slingshots are invited and encouraged to attend. Their will be food, drinks and fun.

Ridenow is willing to sponsor our VOS and Heart of Texas clubs in central Tx. They are the only ones to do so. They have expressed interest in meet-ups, rides and other Slingshot club events.

This is what we have been working for over a year. Now we a local dealer supporting us.

We need to show up mat this event to show our support for our clubs and for ridenow. This our first chance to get something going locally.

If you can make please show up and show off.

With the number of re-calls and the problems with angle drives, bearings, belts ect. I am asking you guys the consumer to rate the dealership and their service department. Was the dealership sympathetic to your concerns and desire to get your SS back on the road?

This should be a PERMANENT thread. We need to know what's out there

Here is the schedule for the run since the weather looks good.

    Sunday May 5th 2019.

7:30 am Meet at Austin Park & Pizza, 16231 N. IH 35 Pflugerville

8:00 am Depart Austin Park & Pizza.

9:00 am Arrive Buc-ees 4155 N. Gen. Bruce Dr., Temple

    9:30 Depart Buc-ees'

11:30 am Arrive Babes' 230 N. Center St., Arlington

Sounds good. Maybe find somewhere other than AP&P - parking lot is in back and hard to get to. Same general area just a little north at the I-35/45 Toll crossing is a Target, you know, next to Rick's Caberet. Could meet there too.

But put together a time and place schedule and we'll meet.

Now all we need is the weather to cooperate. We picked AP&P because of the I35 entry ramp right their. Looked at the Target and we have 3 lights to go through to get on I 35. But this is no big deal.

We can start out anyplace. I want to stop at Bucees in Temple to pick up that group and do a pit stop. I am looking at a rest stop in Abbot on the interstate then its on to Arlington. That Babes has the most parking and is easy to get too.

We are still waiting for word from the DFW group on other rides/meet ups.

    More to come

We are planning a run to DFW to get some of the best fried chicken in Texas at Babes. Arlington location is what we are looking at.

We have reached out to the DFW group for a meet up and any other ideas they may have up there.

This is in the planning stage but we are going if the weather is good, I won't do it in the rain. We can meet up at Austin Park and Pizza for the Austin group then Buc-ees in Temple for the others. I am waiting for some ideas of other things to see in DFW or a short run up there.

The point is we are ready to hit the road and it's been to long since we ate at Babes.

    Give me your thoughts.

We were invited to show our Slingshot this weekend at the Austin Auto Show in the Exotic/Classic section. As a true Slingshot owner we never miss a chance to show off our beauty. They tell us 15,000 to 20,000 people will see it. Here are some pics.

We are in Georgetown, just north of Austin. We were in Kerrville also and had a great time. The Houston group is great, we have been down there twice and it was much better than Kerrville.

The lack of anything much in Austin is too bad. The VOS group is ramping up in the Ft. Hood area and is promising.

I can't figure out the Austin Woods (lack of) fun center. They haven't done a thing to promote get togethers and lack any marketing skills. We need Mancuso ! NEWS FLASH their is a new group for all of us in central TX. It is HEART OF TEXAS SLINGSHOTS join them on facebook, We want to get together and ride, shoot the bull without drama, and find new places to eat with like minded Slingshot owners

    Jamesgn.

Several months back Polaris sent out some stuff about local clubs forming up in conjunction with dealers. Has anyone gotten involved with this. I am looking for any opportunity to ride in groups here in central TX. The local dealers were not interested and I guess Polaris had a marketing problem (as usual), I am still trying to get local dealers interested but no luck. Any thoughts?

I was looking for a link to something I have seen on the forum that look like a big set of hand cuffs. but as you can guess my search on Amazon for locking cuffs made me blush.

I saw the cuffs you were talking about on Amazon, they are Master locks. When I read the reviews several said the same thing that the keys and tumblers were cheap and broke on them.

This weekend I saw a lock that went between the parking brake and shift lever in the SS. I just saw the same one in the picture gallery. Can someone please tell me where can I get one.

    Thanks, Jamesgn
