Turbo Part 1

It's been a long week at work this week with not a lot of time to work on the sling by the time either I or my buddy got off work. That said me and my buddy did make a little progress on it this week and plan to put in some real time into it this Sunday. I should be clear about that up front... His garage, and he's the mechanic. I can change the engine/angle drive oil, the mods up to this point...but not sure I'd try this on my own without his help

Before I even got off work, he had it jacked up and the oil drained. Pulled the tires and had the side panel off to get to the exhaust easier. Helped him pull the old exhaust out and while he messed with cleaning the new oil pan (keep in mind I got this ZZP stage 1 used) I disconnected the lights so we could get the hood and front clip off. One thing I hate is ordering parts for the sling's 2.4 motor.... most auto part stores don't have the slingshot as an option so I end up using a Solstace or Cobalt and while that works most of the time it didn't on the oil pan gasket. I have to do some more research here and see what's needed - my buddy thinks we have to seal it ourselves based on what he cleaned off old one. He's figuring that out but any comments from you that have done it would be appreciated! Looks like the exhaust gasket while correct has some extra holes and will reduce the sealing surface...more research I guess but I'm not in a hurry so will make sure to get all these little things right.

I also saw it discussed this week in a different thread, but not sure I'd want to try this with the hood on. Way easier to take off for now even though it meant pulling some wires and knowing it'll probably deform a bit sitting against the wall on some mover blankets (nose down). That ok? I have a baptism to attend on Sunday morning and then it's game on for some more progress. Parts for ZZP turbo, ZZP rear exhaust, Innovate powersafe boost & wideband O2 gauge, Coolant hoses, and DDM master cylinder brace are at his place. I broke the news to him tonight that I have break pads, coil overs, and stereo system components still at the house. He said bring it on and this is why we are friends
