Not getting political here, first off. Just returned home from the Colts game against the 49ers. Vice President Pence was at the game. The Colts were retiring Peyton Manning's jersey and dedicating a statue to him in front of the stadium. Being from Indiana, Pence is a big Colts fan and friend of Mannings. The suite he was in was directly behind and above where our seats are. Several Secret Service agents and such were in all these aisles. When they played the National Anthem, several 49er players took a knee. Immediately after the anthem, you saw all the security stirring. Heard one of them say, the Vice President is leaving. Turned around and looked. Sure enough, the VP was leaving. He later Tweeted about how he could not be part of something that disrespects our country so much!!! Pretty strong statement!!!
In my opinion, as an American you do have the right to kneel. Is it the right thing to do? No!!! The day off in NFL is Tuesday. You have alot of off season time. You also are afforded many resources as a pro athlete. Get out in your community and make a difference that way, instead of doing- LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!!! Solves nothing!!! Besides, if those guys concentrated on playing football, the 49ers might not be 0-5 right now. Maybe those 49er players (the 49ers started all this last year) should ask Colin Kaepernick how this whole thing worked out for him. Sorry for the ramble, not passing judgement, just a thought!!!
