UK_Paul Considering your health issues it really is the best to stay at home and don't take any risks. Its sad now the weather is getting better, gas prices are cheap but not worth the risk.

Don't really think the UK had the peak yet but I hope it does.

It's not easy when you got a lot of time now but can't do anything to spend it. No rides, no sports to do or watch, ... its sad. But we'll have to get through it and keep on doing nothing for a couple of weeks (at best)

I'm happy to be still at work, otherwise I would get crazy. Being a truckdriver it now is very calm on the roads, almost no traffic.

    Hi!

I have no experience with german slings but i'm sure there will be some out there.

There are at least 5 of them in Belgium that I know off.

The slingshot isn't available anymore in europe because of the new "pollution" rules. Maybe also because of the lack of interest and therefore the bad selling numbers. Sometimes you can find a 2016 on the internet.

Haven't heard of a later model being sold around here.

You can try on importing it yourself in Germany and going through the whole TUV administration over there. Have no idea what it would cost.

A couple of years ago I know it costed about 2500 euro to get a mustang on the road in Germany. Once it has the european papers you can register it anywhere in europe. And off course pay again wherever you register it. The mustang costed me another 4500 euro to get my Belgian papers. Sling costed me 2100 euro to get my license plate :(

Germany had the best and cheapest system in those days. Probably still has but as I said not sure about what is possible these days with all those new green laws.

When I was looking for my slingshot my intention also was to get one from the states and had the papers done in Germany. I had one guy who said it wouldn't be a problem and 3 who told me that it would be a 50/50 chance to get it done. Wouldn't take the risk to buy one over there, pay 2000 euro to have it shipped, add another 10% inporttax and 21% TVA and then ending up with in our garage being unable to have it registred. Waited a couple more months since I heard it was coming to europe anyway with homologation and european papers.

If you plan on doing it please keep us informed.

    Tnx from me to dangerdarrell

Have thought of him on several occasions but expected no news was good news. He has survived a lot of bad luck the last few years but always manages to get back on top. One can have nothing but respect for that guy.

As for me SlingLow , All goes well out here in small Belgium. Just way to busy with work and family the last months.

So the forum has been neglected a bit. Because I know when I get on I want to catch up with what I missed. When you're on the forum time really flies and you spent a lot more time than one intented. Therefor I kinda signed off for a while

Only drove the sling about 10 times I guess this year. Went only to 1 meeting with the sling. Didn't even go out once with the stang and the mustang friends :(

Another big reason for putting the sling aside a bit is that we bought a boat. My wife has been crazy about that for a couple of years now and this is something the whole family enjoys where the SS/mustang is more for my private pleasure.

So when the weather is good we usually spend the time on the water instead of on the road.

Life can be tough when you got to make choices like this.

But all the above is off course nothing compared to what UK_Paul has been through the last months.

Hope everything turns out great for him and that he can once again enjoy driving his sling, together with his wife, in that fabulous english weather!!

Outstanding @UK_Paul! I have to admit I am proud to be a very small part of your well executed and classy package. I do have a plate out to @philip_mustang in Belgium but I have not heard whether it is installed yet or not. This is truly an international forum!

Oh yeah, that was installed a couple days after it arrived. Didn't I post that :/ ? Just checked my posts and it seems like I didn't :whistling:
    Sorry about that.
I am really happy with the way it looks and much easier to keep clean.

What a great video of a great ride! Love that monster helmet on the end

Has anybody here tried to change the nipple to another kind? (No its not what your dirty minds are thinking)

Here in Europe we seem to have another type of nipples than in the US :whistling:
Nothing to do with needles over here.

I heared somebody swapped it with a M6 Euro one in 45° curve to get a very easy acces. But would the change of weight change the balance? Although it is a very small difference?

How did you get to contact the SlingShot drivers, in Belgium?
The new "Club SlingShot" that Polaris have started does not operate outside North America and Polaris UK, may as well not exsist now, with the total lack of assistance offerd, to customers.

I have made contact with a few of the owners in the UK but, two of them are now outside the country and one had his SlingShot stolen, so that leaves us a very few.

By pure luck. A friend of my spotted the grey one on a meeting but didn't talk to him. Then the next meeting (US cars and Bikes) I went to I immediately found another driver. Right after I had parked someone came to me and told me he was a slingshotdriver also. He had a friend with him who had just sold his about a week ealier. So we talked for a while and then I went did a tour around the meeting area. When I came back I just saw the other ss-driver parked almost next to my sling. Since he didn't live far away from the meeting he went home and came back with his slingshot (the red one). After chatting some more, and exchanging phone-nr and email, it was time for me to go home but right after I was gone there entered another slingshot, the grey one my friend has seen before. So they also exchanged nr's. ThenKarl (the one with the red one) tracked the SS his friend had sold so that makes 4 drivers right now. We started a small whatsapp group and last weekend 3 of the 4 came together and it was fun!!

Last week I met some other Belgian Slingshot owners (2). Finally, after a search of one year to meet some other "soulmates" One of them his SS was just sold about a week ago but he would get us in touch with the new owner.
After I was gone there seemed to arrive another SS driver.

The first one had my number and mailaddress so we all exchanged our info and last sunday we first came together with 3 Slings.
Both other drivers are real nice people and i'm looking forward to get to know them better.

There should be 6 drivers in Belgium.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed there was a link at the bottom of @lrobbi signature and checked it out. I saw a couple of things that I was thinking about but didn't know they already existed. Time to contact him and order some goodies :)

Ordered his ECU Cover and the one for next to the cooling tank. Combined that with the DDM firewall Finish Plate to make it all nice and clean.
I also have the cover for the headlight wiring but haven't had the time to install that yet.

I could really recommand @lrobbi 's stuff because it looks great and the price ain't that bad also ;)

The Rally Armor Swingarm Mud flap will hopefully keep the dirt out a bit.

My front logo letters were also renewed because they were starting to come loose :(

And finally got my brake issue fixed with a lot of thanks to Ted Nelson for providing me a Napa brake light switch. It completely looks like its OEM.

Since I'm having an issue now with my brake lights staying on, this napa switch would solve it, right?
Don't know if it has something to do with the extra lights I hooked up to my brake lights or not.
Maybe I was already having the issue but only now noticed it because I can see the extra light on my wing in the rear view mirror.

No, nothing special. The turn signal stalk sends the signal to a blinker relay module which then converts to the on/off. The the signal you want to tap in to is before the blinker relay module.

I understand. But then I need to add 2 more wires to the back. One for left and one for right.
There got to be a way to just do it with what I got. Gonna search if there is some kind of timing relay.

Finally had the time to install some goodies that had been laying around for way to long.

First some extra buttons to control some of those things. Since those under the radio were already taken I had to look for another place but didn't want it to stand out. Didn't like to drill in the center, under the start button, nor on the side. So I decided to try next to the handbrake and it turned out pretty good.
Ok, the first one is a bit out of line but its fine for me ;)

Next were a couple of 'angel wings'

And last but not least were my led strips with DRL and sequential turn signal (Already spoke of those here before).
First tried to make them red with transparant foil but the glue wasn't that good and it had a big risk of coming loose. Then I tried to paint one using transparant red paint and after a couple of layers that seemed like the way to go.

They are rather bright and when I hit the brakes they start to flash. And when the turn signal is on they do their sequence.

Only thing I got to find is a solution to give them longer power for the turn signal. I tapped the power from the rear lights (was the easy was :) ) but never thought the sequence would be an issue. The ones on my mustang always do a complete sequence even if you just tap them with power. These don't :(
For the side and rear I think it's OK but for the one on the wing it should be better is it takes longer.

So I'm looking for something that gives the power for a couple of seconds after it gets power from the turn signal. Gonna look if there is some kind of time relay that can do what I need. Maybe it will restart the "countdown" every time it gets power from the turn signals but when it could takes about 2 seconds it would be perfect.

Sounds like you tapped directly in to the blinker which is controlled by a blinker relay. On, off, on, off power in quick succession. You want to intercept the signal before the blinker relay. Tie in your own relay at that point and then connect your new lights.

Yes, that was the easiest :)
First tried to take the power from connection on the handle but it seemed there was always some power on it (5+V) so I decided to take the easy way and tap in the backlights.

I have DRL with sequentials in the mustang and when they get power to make the turnsignal go it always goes the full way, no matter how short it gets power.
even if you just tap on it they do the full sequence.
Thought these ones would do the same but nope.

For the side and rear strips it's not that bad but for the one that I'd put on my wing it could be better.
Thought there would be something that I can put between that gives constant power for a short while.
