Thanks @Dave@DDMWorks and I have to agree with him in regards to overall stiffness. If you do choose to upgrade the OE bar I suggest getting a good bushing set and bracket. The hard plastic should be replaced regardless of what bar you choose.

Thank you very much for your input it is appreciated. At this point I must admit I am still unsure - If I do go with a sway bar I do know it would be the DDM, but I am still not sure how much it would benefit me. there is a very good chance my slingshot will never see the nice driving conditions of a track, but I can guarantee it will see windy mountain roads where the curves are full of ruts, bumps and potholes - Now that I have the JRI's installed I need to go drive some of these roads again to see if I feel body roll is an issue and to also see if the bumps and such might be an issue if things were more locked together with a stiffer bar

Back in 2015 at the SSITS I was told that I was picking the inside tire up off of the pavement by a couple of people that followed me with the stock sway bar and the stock shocks. I now have the JRI's double adj. the DDM sway bar and the RRR frame stiffner

I would say that about 11-15 people upgraded while at SSITR. With the show discount it was under $200. Every single person noticed the difference. From daily driving to hitting the twisties. The stock sway bar is hollow. The Twist Dynamics is completely solid. Just taking normal sweeping turns while going to work this morning, you can tell that it just turns in more flat and makes it easier to drive.

There was one young lady that spent $20,000 at SSITS.

I know I am going to totally regret making this post but....listen guys...I am an ASE Master Certified Mechanic ...especially alignments....we perform 30 alignments a day and I dont care what vehicle type you are aligning...the principals all remain and act the same. If we had a way to repeatedly and correctly measure and adjust the caster angle I would be all for it. Unfortunately we do not. I have one of the most sophisticated laser alignment machines built and have been on the phone with the manufacturer about getting the slingshot added to the abilities of it and I have been told "it has been discussed and is in progress"....who knows when or if it will happen. What I know for a fact is that, if you start changing the shims blindly without knowing what the angles are to begin with and ending with you CAN screw things up.I took my sling which in my PROFESSIONAL opinion was a deathtrap in the drive ability dept. in regards to the steering. Mine hunted all over the place and I fought it every step of the way and it was no fun to drive...took it and had it laser aligned by someone who was trained to do so and sat 5 feet from the guy and watched. it took him about 45 min to complete and he checked the measurements multiple time for repeat ability and accuracy...double checked the math and then made the adjustments. The actual adjustments only took 10 min of that time.
When I took my sling for a drive it was a completely different vehicle....it was pure pleasure. The ONLY ANGLE ADJUSTED was the toe on the front.
Before everybody starts disassembling the front end of their sling I urge you to get it laser aligned first and see if at that point you are not completely satisfied.

Everything I have said is what 20+ years of training and experience has taught me. Glean from it what you wish or throw it all out the window. I just want everybody to make informed decisions.

With all of that being said, you would be surprised at the number of people that will not spend the money for the laser alignment but complain everyday about how their Slingshot handles. I personally know two of those people, if they only knew how much difference that it does make. My steering wheel was off 10 degrees and the Sling handled like "S--t" dealer did an alignment and it was worse. True Trak Laser had just came out with the SS alignment and I drove 4 hours to have it done. I could not believe the difference it made. I had another dealer do an alignment after my little off road deal last year, I had to pay to get the laser alignment again.

I could tell you a few things about show judging, I did old cars and shows for years but never cared about getting any trophies, I just enjoyed meeting the people.

Wow. That's some crazy mileage! Where you been going?

I am 4 hours from the Smokies and I make a few trips a year. Three trips already this year and at least two more are planned. Georgia - North Carolina - Tenn. - Virginia and all over South Carolina where I live in Georgetown. I might pull out from home on any morning and put 200 to 300 miles on the Sling before I get back to the house. Yes, I have been retired since Nov., 2005 and also bought a new Harley in 2013 and put 20,000 miles on it in one year, I still have it but do not have much over that even now. Had some health problems doctor created, damn near killed me. I was just getting over that when I bought the SS and decided to ride while I still can. If you want to ride and are in the area just get in touch with me. As long as it is 53 degrees are better and not raining when I leave the house I am in the SS.

At the moment 67,246 miles since Feb.12, 2015 on one Slingshot. Over 3,000 miles in the last three weeks. I started to say never on a trailer but it did have a ride on a couple of roll backs to the repair shop after last years off road experience.

@edwardaneal If you are planning on driving hard, you will also need the Hawk 5.0 brake pads from DDM, some of this best pads out there but they are dirty. You DO NOT need any of the big brake kits unless you are one of those drivers that spend a lot of time on the brakes if you have followed anything that I have said or anyone else talking about me, I spend very little time on the brakes. If you follow me and wait on my brake lights you will probably over drive the corner.

The short shifter is one of the things I have considered and I was thinking about the master cylinder brace, but when they fixed my break failure light thing last month whatever they did made the breaks work great so I am not sure the brace is needed now -

The brace has nothing to do with how good the master cylinder works. It keeps the firewall that the master cylinder is mounted on from moving (FLEXING) therefore changing how the pedal feels under hard use. If you are not planning the hard driving you would never know the difference. Just like the sway bar, if you will not be driving hard you will not need it. Does this help you? I am not trying to be a smart ass. Informed Choices

DDM Short Shifter and the master cylinder brace next and then the sway bar

Need some help trying to rid a squeal or rattle on my 1320 V2 exhaust. I actually think it is one of the springs vibrating that is causing the sound but it is driving me nuts. It hits at between 2250 and 2500 rpm no matter is under acceleration or deceleration. I installed the support brace about two months ago and it has shown up since then so I was thinking that was the problem so I unhooked the brace yesterday and the squeal had a different pitch to it and came along a couple hundred rpms higher but it is still there. I've checked for any sign of exhaust leaks and its not there. I've been experimenting with different positions with the eyelet on the brace that is mounted on the top pipe. Right now it is at the 9 oclock position and there is plenty of tension on the topmost spring. It is the one on the very bottom that I think might be the culprit but I'm not sure. Anyone else had this issue with a 1320? I just don't want to fight that bottom spring again on that thing. I made up new cusswords trying to get that bottom spring on. I like to ride in 4th gear and that is right in the wheelhouse of that rpm range.

Good Luck. If you need a hand give me a shout one afternoon after work

All I can say is a BIG Thank You.

And the mileage race is ON... I know that your wife was down for a while last year which keep the miles down … This year it's my wife. Recovery from back surgery is moving slower than we had hoped but it is moving in the right direction. JUst crested the 67,000 miles running errons this pm.

Yes, Brenda has been down for 17 months total and my Slingshot was in the repair shop for 2 months after that little off road adventure
