@arosejr Make sure the seal is installed. Goes around top inside of door and several inches down the side.

I had put a new NRG flat bottom wheel in my 15 and got to use it for 3 weeks before I traded for the SLR. Really loved the NRG and want another but I hate to pull off the new Sparco wheel and replace it so soon. May have to though. I could probably sell it easily.

I use the Master Lock Street Cuff also. Saw it on @Slingrazors and loved it. Best thing is that it keeps people from getting into the driver's seat without my permission.

Got mine yesterday and my wife went straight in to see what she could pack. Seems she was able to get three days worth in with no problem. That included makeup and extra shoes. With the storage behind the seat she doesn't see any problem. Also, since she has her own Sling now and is ordering a second pair of bags, we will be able to pack all she needs for a week plus.

Polaris says 24 hour cure time. It was ok for me since we dropped it off on the way to Kansas City for the weekend and picked it up on the way back.

This was a friends Jeep (350) when his flywheel let go.
Missed his leg. -
I understand your southern heritage @mytoy, I'm southern (by choice) also. Found out in Maggie Valley that you had more Southern accent then me . I was really surprised you were from PA . Your Decepticon doesn't offend me but I am sure you will have people who are offended since we have to be so "politically correct" these days.
Maybe someone will send you a sticker like this.
Wait a minute. That's an Autobot. Ok, maybe someone can make you a Decepticon sticker like this if you are really concerned. -
As I said before, my only issue was the power shut off in hard right turns. All because the mechanic put too much loctite on the axel after the swingarm recall.
-
I just bought my SS last Thursday. Called the dealer in Roanoke Va and gave them my vin #. I need 4 recalls and the swing arm is one of them. He said he'd call when he had the parts. How long do you guys think it'll take for me to get that call? Lol
Depends on your dealer. My wife bought @Orangeman 's Sling about two weeks ago. The Friday before I flew down to pick it up I went by my dealer and asked them to order a red swingarm for her recall. The following Friday I dropped it off and they installed the new swingarm. Really great service!

This has nothing to do with the SS @UK_Paul but I had a house once that had half the garage built in. Needed to remove a short wall and turned off all the breakers. When I cut through the wire on the plug from that wall it knocked me off the stool. Found out the previous owner had wired the wall in directly to the main power. I sold the house two weeks later. BTW, I told the new owner about it.

Passenger roll bar snapped like a twig
Not seeing the broken hoop. If you pause about 2:10 you can see the hoop in place with his flag still flying.

When mine was shutting off in hard turns there was no code. Since I had a really good mechanic he immediately started his search from the work that had just been completed. Thought it was speed sensor related and pulled the axle the previous mechanic had installed. Found Loctite on the axle shaft that would just barely interfere with the sensor when the axle would move a fraction of an inch when turning hard. He told me the speed sensors were very sensitive and not that difficult to block with dirt, etc. When I told him about the ABS light and traction control light coming on in my Jeep (without telling him what the computer said) he asked me if I checked the speed sensors. Said they were an issue on Jeeps when used off-road. Dirt and mud are terrible for these sensors.

Ordered mine yesterday Looking forward to using it!!!

Would be happy to but I'm already in AR If you come to NW AR let us know. Maybe we @HeRSling and I can meet up with you and show you around. Hope you can make Ozark Slingshot Invasion at the end of Sep. BTW I have relatives in WI.

I had the shutoff problem when I went into hard right turns after my swing arm replacement. Turns out the mechanic had put on too much Loctite and it would block the speedsensor when things flexed hard in one direction. Just saying this because a bad speed sensor also shuts down the electronics. My Jeep did the same thing last week. Hooked up the computer and it said left rear speed sensor bad. Changed it and everything was ok. With everything run by computers it is amazing what problems result from parts we never had to deal with pre-computer control.

I was hesitant to revive this old thread but while driving my wife's SS back from FL I got a question I have never heard or even thought I would ever hear.
Stopped at a convenience store in AL to grab another drink. The lady at the checkout asked "is that your car?" I was in a hurry so I didn't want to get into a long conversation so I said "It's my wife's. I just picked it up for her in FL and I'm driving it back to AR."
She then asked "Does it just drive on those two tires?"
"Uh...no. There is a tire in back."
Really wanted to say "here's your sign". -
Lots of good points to the vehicle. If they could just do something about that front end. IMHO, that grill/nose is just plain ugly. Someone had one at MV. Wife said it looked like a soap box derby car.
-
really ? you don't have a cartridge filter..... did you do a filter relocation or is this stock ?
Not sure what you have @KayTwo but I just changed my oil on the 15 before going to MV and changed the oil on my 17 as soon as I got back from MV. Both were cartridge filters on the driver's side, top rear of the engine. Looked at my wife's 15 and it is the same. Did you have @sideseatdriver change the oil for you?
-
Like many have already said, you can do it on a flat surface, you just need a low profile pan to fit under the vehicle to catch the oil. And if you have difficulty getting the tool onto the filter to break it free, there's plenty of room to do the old "drive a screwdriver into the side of the filter and wrench it off that way" trick. Just sayin'.
Uhhh... @KayTwo. Unless you have a different oil filter than me, like a remote filter, that is going to destroy the filter housing. I still use the drop-in filter.

Picked my wife's Sling up in FL Monday afternoon. Made it back at 11:20 Tuesday night. Got it cleaned up and tagged Wednesday and dropped off at dealer Thursday evening for all the recall work. They even got her a red swing arm. Will pick up Monday morning when we get back from Kansas City. @HeRSling is looking forward to a good road trip in her SS and me in mine but looks like that will have to wait a couple weeks.
