It's good to see you. We've been rather busy behind the scenes at Hahn RaceCraft as of late, as you'll see in what I'm about to lay down. I am ready to again throw open the doors to Billy Hahnka's Power Factory!
Enjoy the tour. I'm here tonight to start a new build thread, a fun and exciting exercise that we're going to do right before your very eyes. In this quest, we've enlisted the participation of @shortremover and his magnificently well-detailed Sling. To make it extra delicious, we're going to introduce a number of fun new products during this operation as well!
The Foundation
The basis of this build is our versatile Stage 2/2X TurboSystem, which is equally at home at 300, 400, or even 500+ HP. Originally released in early 2015, often imitated but never really duplicated, we've continued to refine and improve what we believe to be the most well-engineered, trouble-free TurboSystem available for Slingshot. The latest in a group of GM Ecotec engine TurboSystems that date back to 2002 when GM asked us to turbocharge the very first Ecotec-powered cars for the SEMA show, it reflects everything we've learned in not only 15 years of Ecotec, but also 45 years of Hahn family TurboSystem manufacturing...a distinction that makes the Hahn legacy the longest continuously-operating TurboSystem manufacturer in existence today.
NEW! Built for Boost Engine
As we're aiming for more than the stock engine can dependably provide, we're using a new product...our Built for Boost, or BFB engines. The BFB concept is one of economical dependability at enhanced power levels. It uses proven parts in conjunction with my extensive experience in building inline fours (and Ecotec in particular) to deliver an effective concept. We'll detail what goes into a Hahn BFB engine, its installation, and of course, the best part...the powerful results!
NEW! StreetRace Intake Manifold
In our ongoing quest to squeeze more power out of Ecotec in other applications, we've developed a line of billet sheetmetal intake manifolds dubbed StreetRace. We've now brought this concept to Slingshot! The new Slingshot StreetRace Intake Manifold replaces the restrictive plastic stock manifold, and not only seriously enhances power, it looks amazing under the hood. It's proven itself to be a real player on normally aspirated Slingshot as well, but we'll cover all that in another thread, for the name of the game here is BOOST!
NEW! PortFueler EMS
Another concept with which we've had great results in other Ecotec applications is our PortFueler system. PortFueler allows completely programmable fueling of the boosted condition up to 28 PSI of boost, and is compatible with the stock flashed PCM. That's right, it's completely adjustable in the field, with no PCM reflashing needed! For 2017, our newest version, PortFueler EMS (for Engine Management System) now takes the concept to the next level, adding ignition timing control and a raft of new features including detailed datalogging. Manufactured for us by industry giant AEM, the new PortFueler EMS controller strikes the perfect middle note in price and features between a canned, locked PCM flash tune and a complete programmable engine management system like Haltech.
NEW! Intank Fuel Pump PowerModule
Slingshot suffers from an intank fuel pump module that just, well...suffers. It lacks the sophistication of a modern automotive piece, and is notorious for experiencing surging, especially when the fuel tank is low, and the cornering and braking forces are high. My experience with automotive EFI goes back over 30 years, and I've brought that knowledge to bear in an innovative new intank PowerModule. Like the new StreetRace intake manifold, this piece will also enhance even non-boosted Slings. Unlike the stock unit, my new design won't surge, won't hurt engines, will properly support over 500 HP, and will feature options that allow fine-tailoring to the task at hand, such as optional pumps and the inclusion of a fuel return.
....but wait, there's MORE! And there is...but I'm going to keep some of it under wraps for now. You'll have to come back and follow the progress to see those surprises!
As we go, I'll add the sumptuous detail I'm noted for, not only about the parts themselves, but also in their installation and application. Stay tuned, for we are about to light the fuse on a rocketship!
And so it begins:
Sure excited for all of this awesomeness to start becoming reality! Even more so to see proven technology applied where it has never been before. Will be unique, and tons of fun to make additional power in ways that no other Slingshot is making it, other than the turbo! Hold on boys and girls, I think it's going to be a ride!
To the best to my knowledge DDM Works will offer them very soon.
If not I can have about 100 each made in no time bare Alu 6061 T6 FOR ROUGHLY $ 45.00 each I don't have a business so it would have to go thru PayPal. Again that's just if DDM comes not out with them.
They would be without any engraving, engraving would be additional.
I'd be in for one
I'd be in, just need something to cover my ugly nuts....
Just got my SlingCave Trailer. The build quality is excellent and I'm really pleased with the finished product. When Capt Van heard I had recent rotator cuff surgery he took it upon himself to deliver the trailer directly to my house which was awesome and I'm very appreciative.
Way nice! Congratulations...
I'm needing a cover for two nuts too! Can the double nut covers be ordered?
@mniron.... Sorry to. Hear this, take care sir. Wish you a speedy recovery.
Yeah, that's about right. Miserable insurance companies, they sure enough want your money, but sure don't want an chance of having to turn any of it loose.
yes, I think they sense their owners fear towards outsiders... and respond accordingly.
We did have one accident where a breeder chow bit a girl, but she was specifically told not to go to their area.. she did, and got her finger bit. A couple of stitches...
The breeder chows were in a large fenced in area to the side of the house. We werent home.. they were protecting their territory, and she and her parents had been forewarned. That was the only incident we ever had.
You're absolutely right, they get their vibes from us!
The accident y'all had wasn't the dogs fault. So many times that is actually the case in bite situations, but most times the other side of the story is never told, and just blame the dog. I was refused home owners insurance recently due to having chows, being vicious! Let them know you obviously don't know my dogs!! O'well if you will sign a waiver to realease us from any and all liabilities of any kind we'll write you....Really? What's the point of insurance??
Beautiful Chows! Awesome dogs... loyal, protective, and gaurdians of the family children. My parents were Akc Chow breeders when I was younger, we had a chow dog that saved me and my sister from a rattlesnake bite. The snake was coiled and ready in the grass, we didnt see it til the dog snatched it in his teeth and shook it, and the snake bit him twice. Once on the muzzle and once right on the end of his nose pad. Took all of about 2 minutes before that dog went down to the ground. We rushed him to the vet, which might have been 10 minutes down the road, and he survived. That was one of the best dogs we ever had.
They really are good dogs! Have had several over the years, these I have now are the most laid back I've ever seen, may be a different story when I'm not around but they mingle with anyone I allow in the house. When I take them to the vet he just turns them loose as if they was office dogs... really strange for chows!
Sounds like you for sure had a good one!!
Ok, i have the address. Do you want the sticker in white or silver ? I am in shock so far at the decal prices. The cheapest I have found so far is 107.00 each . They were 36x14.5
Im still looking
White please!
And I guess I'd have to say "Sticker" Shock! ...@ $107.00 I think I'd have to reconsider the (3), thinking I'd just put (1) on the back at that rate.
Rab, I need one of the stickers. Wasn't one in my kit, even though it isn't installed yet.... I will send pics when I get it put on. Should have it back in a couple of weeks. I have some shirts ordered and waiting on 36" sticker pricing. You can put it in with shirts.
My "Dependants"...
awesome!!! Looks great, let me know when they're ready to order
rabtech, put me in for (4) windshield stickers and (3) 36". Let me know cost and will get it sent.
$30.00 plus shipping. That would be for bare metal marked for drilling. If you have an Alpha Side exit I can mark it for the small area that needs to be trimmed.
Slingrazor I'm in for a set. I want to tinker with this idea! Much appreciate your help and ideas!!
Let me know how to pay.
@Slingshot Garage Done! Thank You...
I'm in, just as soon as I see ordering info!
I like this from previous post:
@FunCycle - I have this label across my ECU. It's a bit wordy, but here goes...
"Warning! This ECU contains custom ECU flash values. Do not program anything to this port that could change the ECU flash. No service to this vehicle should imply permission to flash the ECU without expressed written permission. If the ECU is found to be flashed or programmed in such a manner as to change the values, you will be responsible for any cost associated with returning it to its previous flash values."
Also as others have stated maybe just a simple WARNING CUSTOM ECU please DO NOT Flash, at under dash plug.
At the end of the day, regardless exactly what it says....as long as its close, I'd bet we're lined up to get them!
I've been wrong a time or 4, but I find it hard to believe that if the tune was discussed with dealer, possibly even noted on service ticket and (2) warning labels and it got flashed over. That one couldn't force them to replace the custom tune on their dime.. actually think it would be a no brainer that they are responsible for replacement at their expense.
