Slingrazor, your absolutely right we do recommend pinning. Realized on the over 2000 miles ive lifted so far this trip taking the long way to Daytona amd over to Orlando and back etc.that pinning the bag just short of max inflation would be a good idea.that way it can still add some suspension in case of a hard bounce

    hi Harley and rock

The tongue weight is substantial 710 lbs you will need at least a half ton pick up.Younger guys are going to think our method of keeping the wheels straight is not quite high tech enough for them, lol, but think back to the decades of towing industry I have experience with, it was only a couple decades ago lock steering and front wheel drives became popular, before that for decades all vehicles were towed from behind using the seat belt to tie the steering off.It works perfect on the slingshot as the buckle is attached to the seat frame and allows you to slide seat back firmly holding the wheel locked. I,ll post a pic of that shortly as I get on the road here.

wow.my apologies.have to stop posting in middle of night after a 1000 mile drive. My spelling is horrific! I will repostthat text above here so you wont have to guess about my rushed rantings.lol

well I promised bkl and a few others two days ago that I,d send pics of the new pneumatic wheel lifts we,re offering as soon as I got my demo sling with my new body kits loaded up on the lift and headed out for Daytona sunday eve .Well you can see from the pics we got an inch or two of wet snow that aft so loading on a skating rink was fun , but what I didn't expect was the 45 minute snow squall i drove into on my way from london ontario to detroit. Well that was fun too first long distance haul on our new lifts in a friģgin blizzard.anyway to make a long story short i got across border drove most of the night and stopped in knoxville area monday morning washed off a ton of slush salt and sand grime amd took these few pics i had promised. Will get them loaded on my new siteslingshotbodykits.com tomorrow morning before i finish last three hundred miles to bike week ! All in all, it tows great ,straight as an hour at 70 mph for 1000 miles so far. The first pic is of it jist hanging on hitch with air bag deflated.it sits about 9 inches off ground with no weight on it.but next photos shows as soon as you back up to it tire immediately pushes it right down to ground as bag compresse it to its mechanical stop and truck suspension squats down with load.Next you simply give it a little roll back on clutch and it will drop right into the cradle on lift. Well this is a hell of a lot easier on dry pavement then it was on that skating rink sunday aft.lol but i managed to still load it myself. The yellow strap although rated to hold load of sling doesnt really have to at all. The rear end is heavy enough to hold it in cradle while accelerating normally the strap really just holds it down from trying to jump up out of cradle, say you were to hit rough rairoad tracks or something while aggressively accellerating. Once its in cradle you merely hit the bag with about 5 seconds of air and it immediately goes up to about 50 psi as the volume of of air required is so little.

Lifting the forks up past horizontal to tilting up a bit and you atop the air right there. At about 80 lbs it will top out the bag at the mechanical stop to prevent over inflating it but its so rock hard then it provides no suspension so your best to stop at about 50 psi and the bag then provides additional suspension as you haul over rough roads. You dont want the rear tire anymore them about four inches off the ground as anymore will start to lower your front spoiler .theres no worries regarding the rear tire bottoming out over potholes and scuffing the ashpalt becasue at 50 lbs this is almost impossible to do but if it did the skid plates on the bottom of the lift contact the ashphalt not your rubber lol no wories there.Just safety chain through rim and away you go. As i get into daytona tomorrow I,ll get better photos when i get a chance to catch my breath.

and yes slingshot garage the new fenders do weigh more but there is a weight savings on all the stuff removed .but still a net gain of less than ten lbs per side.our very complex fibreglass one piece mold which splits4 ways allows us to do a one piece lamination on the entire front fender keeping it free of laminated joints that would also require body work

hi guys just got my phone app working .been inthe shop allmorning trying to leave for florida yet today. Sorry cameron about the price confusion i corrected it in the site now so it no longer shows canadian funds. And yes given the drive fills the area inside the right hardcase there is plenty of room to get the same look from behind by using the welter exhaust
Im going to price that stuff all out on this trip thanks
    I

I cant tell you how many hours went into the front wheel arhches, I simply lost count lol, it was an area of great concern , one part of me wanted to tightly enclose the wheels just allowing for minimimal turning and suspension for a tighter supercar look, but then it took too much away from the original Slingshot look so I compromised with large enough openings to include the guys who want to upgrade to 20 inch rims and maintain the same rear tire profile , meaning an extra 2 inch overall diameter, Whlie there has been some go to 20,s with the lowest profile to keep the outer tire diameter the same it just makes for very cool looking wheels but not too practical as they have literally no sidewall left for suspension and ride. So therefore the larger wheel well arches won out for both the look and practicality. Glad you liked them !

Well theres fresh snow on the ground here in Ontario Canada this morning but I,m exctied to be loading up my Sling on our new wheel lifts and heading on a three week tour to introduce our new body kits from here to Florida. I hope to join the Slingshot ride there next Saturday but will be spending most of my time wondering 3 or 400 miles east and west of I75 calling on dealers. anybody got a recommendation for the most active Slingshot dealers in Eastern U.S. I.d love to call on them directly but cant possibly hit them all in three weeks so looking for referrals on which ones are truly active in Slingshot sales? The purpose of my trip is to give them a first hand look at the quality and kits available, including one which I think will really interest them, our new luggage system as I truly believe all potential Slingshot purchasers are looking for more luggage capability. . This posting is a little bit ahead of our website design as we cant get our SSL certificate till Monday and a few other website bugs to work out , but until then you can view what there is so far at slingshot body kits.com. please note its only http not https meaning not secured for online purchases yet un till we get that certificate. nor are the search engine optimizations up yet. . The reason being untill we were fully into production we refused to publicly introduce product that could not yet be delivered.. The time has come, I am introducing this month for product release in April, we are building inventory now, So please understand the website has not been our first priority as were not yet marketing, till April, That being said anybody along my route that would like a personal or group showing I would love to give everybody a sneak preview of what will be available come April
