ok... Just keep me posted. I work in Suwanee just off I-85 .... Matter of fact sitting having coffee at this very moment at the interstate.... :D

How far from Blue Ridge? We just closed on our cabin a couple of hours ago and will be here for a week

So @rupturedduck was nice enough to send me a new top and I installed it 2 days ago. We left last night heading to Dave@DDMWorks. Lost the pressure washer and gas can we were brining to the in laws somewhere on I-75 near Cordele, Ga. Then I noticed this at my next fill up. Yep, nice piece of aluminum went through the brand new top and landed in the driver's seat

That sucks that someone would need to be blocked here. The main thing I liked about the site was how we were all respectful and helpful. Perhaps if someone needs to be blocked, they should just not be here at all.

I was there. We were at the Mexican restaurant with Lorge when you came and met Jared and Heather, bit we never spoke to each other. I believe you were at the get together with Bill and all the other cool people. We'll get together next year.

I live in Florida and I installed foot pegs on the saddle bad framed of my Harley and my kids (Then 5 and 4) rode on it all the time and never had a problem with the police. My son was on a booster seat in this video of is on the Moonshiner 28. The booster was so he could see better. I have also picked them up from school in the sling for more than a year without. Problem and there is a police officer manning the crosswalks.

Floor jack through the front wing (center) to the frame under the radiator. If you lift and remove the passenger front tire it will make access to the drain plug easier.

Always place something under the frame in case the jack fails and also chock the rear tire to keep it from rolling.
Lift enough to put your drain pan underneath.

The filter is easy but the correct socket size with a swivel end extension makes it even easier.

Yep, removing the passenger tire was what my dealer did for my first oil change. Tearing up my after-market lug nuts, after I told them I left the special socket on the seat, was a freebie. Never went back for routine maintenance. I use lower profile ramps that it use for my other "cage" vehicles.

If wanting your ECU back ASAP, you might wan to consider overnighting it to and from OBD Disgnostics. Be sure to include return shipping along with your ECU. I mailed mine on a Friday and got it back on the second Tuesday after shipping (12 days). Wasn't a problem for me as I had other needs keeping me from getting back to the turbo install. I hope to drop my pan tomorrow and then get on with the installation.

I couldn't wait for mine. I overnighted it to Bob and included an overnight return label back to me. Only gone 2 days, but not cheap.

I was on our local volunteer fire dept for about 8 years active, and another 15 as reserve. Respect for what you do @Street Doc, and thank you for your service! It's pretty difficult to get a fire out like that... once the heat is there, the O2 is there, and the volatile fuel source keeps coming... it just keeps restarting. One of the last fire runs I was one was my neighbors house across the street. The heat had melted thru the top gauge part of the natural gas meter, and it was being fed from the pressurized gas in the line. That sounded like an angry animal when we arrived. First thing I did was use the nozzle on wide fog pattern to protect another firefighter while he shut off the feed at the base of the meter. Good times!

I got off the dept... or rather went to reserve for personal reasons. I live in a small close knit community, and I knew just about everyone in the area since I'd lived there since I was born. It's tough to see the heartbreak when someone loses their home. It's tougher if someone you know is in an accident that takes their life or puts them in critical care. I did it as long as I could, but it really started messing with my head over time. Watch a person dying while holding their hand or being right there with them... takes a special kind of person. I wanted to help my community, but I just couldn't adapt to dealing with things like that.

Only someone who's been there knows what it's like. It has a way of turning you into a cynical person and you learn to turn off some feelings, but it always seems to get you somehow. I totally understand how you feel and there are plenty are people that are alive because of you and many more that you helped comfort in one of there most difficult and frightening times.
    Glad to know you brother!

Hahn recommends allowing about 1 week to get the ECU shipped off, reflashed and returned. Bob at OBD Diagnostics charges $500 for the turbo reflash (be sure to specify you have the Hahn turbo). Also include shipping for the return or add $10 (per the OBD website). I mailed my ECU 8 days ago and it hasn't gotten back yet. I didn't buy extra insurance, but replacing the ECU isn't cheap and I wonder if I should have.

Noel Hughes wrote that they drill an old oil cap to accept an air fitting and then pressurize the oil pan to (hopefully) blow out any drill shavings. Don't forget to use lots of grease in the drill flutes once you get about halfway in. Also use lots of grease during the tapping process.

Another option is to contact Hahn about their pre-modded oil pan. It's $250 with $150 back when you send back your old oil pan. It also requires a different oil return line/connector and you need to swap the internal oil pan components from your old pan to the modded pan.

No need to drill the oil cap. I hooked up a tapered nozzle from my air compressor into the hose for the crankcase breather.

Very nice set up you have thee sir

Thank you. Not very pretty, but it works and I couldn't justify all the money for a nice setup like yours when I"ll only use it 2 or 3 times a year. Turns out I spent most of the money I saved on mods at MV anyway. Go figure
