Thanks for the update. I'll give it a try when I get some free time.
Mine just did the same thing last week. Has anyone figured out the cause? I have not been under the hood in over a month. Just drive it and put gas in it. I've had my tune from Bob for a year and a half with no problems.
The new set of injectors from DDM and the Alpha tune are what got mine running pretty well
Thanks Dave!
And that last part, is why y'all have been and will be on my list... In addition to your top notch reputation and customer service!
And they can straighten out the problems with other vendors systems.
After my Daughter used the USB endoscope camera to look inside the bell-housing and didn't see anything a couple of weeks ago, I repeated the process today and didn't see anything either. Even though I still haven't found part of the plastic tab or the bolt, I went ahead and started my engine. Fortunately, there were no loud bangs or other unwanted noises.
I admit I am still a little concerned about the AFR as it still seems a little high. When I started the motor today, the AFR was around 15.8-16.0, so I guess I still need to check a few more things.
Then, I can finish gathering the tools I've spread all over the carport the last few months and I can reinstall my wheels for a shakedown cruise before I recheck all of the various fasteners for tightness. Then I can reinstall the body side pieces I removed and actually try using my Slingshot!
Keep a close eye on that AFR and don't get beat it until you get it to richen up. The tune that comes with that set up has caused problems for some of us. I now have a DDM Works engine, new fuel injectors, and Bob tweaked the original tune for me at SSITS. It's now running pretty good.
In my opinion this is yet another example of an over-the-top concept with the only real purpose of looking cool - and it sure does! But really, with a cost of $95k - $118k ($50k - $73k base price + $45k to Shelby), how many are actually going to baja this rig and require 2 spare tires? Any owner of this is much more likely to call AAA-HELP from the Vegas Strip. You sure wouldn't want to rip those extendable floorboards off now would ya?
OK maybe I'm a little jealous. I want it (for no good reason)!
Many of our mods are for the same purpose....looking cool.
Finally got my computer to stop choking on the compilation of one 20 minute session on the track. Roll out of staging area starts at about the six minute mark.
Which camera did you use for that video?
Then for sure you are not in Naples.
I was headed to my cabin on Friday but had to turn back for a family issue - I think they got about 8"
Hope everything is ok with your family. Been at the cabin since Sunday working on a lot of projects. We got 9" of snow and were supposed to leave today, but snow and ice on the road leading down the mountain. Hopefully we can leave tomirrow.
my view this morning
Do you have the stock shocks?
@Street Doc, other than the jack, what tools did you need for belt adjustment?
Just my spanner wrenches for the QA1s. I'm on the back half of a double and won't have access to my manual until tomorrow, but there is a link to a video on how to do it, somewhere in this forum. You'll need a rather large socket, don't recall the size, but bigger than most tool kits have, and a breaker bar.
The belt should track hard to the left on both sprockets as viewed from the rear (toward the inside). There should be no contact anywhere on the right side of the belt.
I agree with @Street Doc , tighter is the right idea. Doesn't have to be perfect.
Unless something catastrophic, like a failed angle drive which took my belt out with it, the belt should last the life of the rig. Belts are a mature technology, and dead nuts reliable.
Not quite hard left. I believe the manual states there should be a very slight gap between the belt and left side
I will have to go check that out today when I adjust the belt tension. Where is this weld?
The weld is where mine rubbed also
Till it felt tighter. No real measurement. My ass end was sitting at 7" and the front was 5. I adjusted the shock down to lower the rear to 5.5. I checked the belt and it was tighter and not rubbing anymore. One day soon I'll do it the right way with a 10lb weight.
It's from the belt being too loose. Just noticed it on mine a couple of weeks ago and tightened it
I haven't shot anyone,....... yet! People really suck,.....really really suck! Close to living alone Sorry, happy holidays!
I like the saying, "I used to be a people person, but EMS ruined that for me". I'm sure that applies to you too.
