Local customer just stopped by for a quick install. Sent him out on the supercharged sling. Lets see what he think of it :-)

    I'm the lucky one :P

I wish I could say I had a full detailed report after hours/days behind the wheel of how most of us would plan to drive a sling with a power adder but I was having too much fun just being out for a drive to pay attention to all the details. Having driven the Alpha turbo and now the supercharged version I must say Henry hit the nail on the head with his review a few posts back. The SC power was indeed very linear, smooth and was easy to drive where the turbo kinda slaps you in the face (in a fun exciting way) when the boost comes on. As it stands now, I'll be going supercharged with mine and think it'll give me the overall power increase that I'm seeking and the slingshot desperately needs. As a bonus to the extra power, you get the great "whoosh" sound I was making in my head the whole time driving back home in my stock sling. :D
*I'll be sure to give my more in depth thoughts when I can beat the snot out of my own supercharged slingshot complete with pictures of smoke and questions about tire upgrades.

Thanks again to the Alpha crew for giving me a moment to play with this latest toy! Having been to the shop a few times now(or even with phone calls/email) I have always been left with that comfortable feeling you get dealing with talented, helpful and friendly people.

Hi all, Just a quick first impression of the Alpha short shifter.

Having driven a few cars with various shifter setups (short throw shifters/bushings/knobs etc..) I've come to know what I like in a shifter. The factory Slingshot shifter is very easy to drive and while the shifts are quite smooth the throws are long and the feeling of a connection to the machine is definitely lacking. The cure for this disconnect is generally done with a short shift kit that'll firm things up and give a nice solid feel while rowing through the gears. The folks at Alpha have done an A+ job on this new shifter for sure. Not sure what they've done differently but they have smoothed out the notchy feel I've experienced with shifters in the past leaving a solid, smooth engaging shifter feel that is still nice and easy to drive. For what it's worth, this piece gets my stamp of approval!

I've been thinking about something like this for a while. Where does this mod fall on the spectrum of difficulty to do at home for someone who is far less than expert but has a little more than a basic understanding of tools? Would a step-by-step instruction pack come with it?

Super easy! I've done short shifters in a couple cars now (including the slingshot) and with a basic hand tools and 10-15 minutes it'll be in and ready to go. In fact I just got home from the Alpha shop where Troy had my old shifter out and the new Alpha short shifter installed in a matter of minutes.

@badbennyb I would actually route for them as a 2nd team cause I liked Jacques Lemaire (Devils) But once Parise went there I couldn't like them anymore... :whistling:

I miss the Lemaire days. Curious to see what Bruce Boudreau can bring to the Wild game this year. The Wild also hired former Devil Scott Stevens to work with the D (please give em some grit  ) No doubt losing Parise would've sucked. I'm just hoping his body can hold up, that guy out works everyone.

Getting ready to head out on a little 350 mile trip - should be a great day for a ride and some beautiful scenery along the might Mississippi

We did the northern version of that trip a couple weeks back. Minneapolis to Winona and back up Wisconsin 35. Cool start to the day but should be a great day indeed! I know my wife and I are heading out for a few hours this afternoon but haven't decided which direction.

Yankees and Cowboys!?..........you're begging to be bashed 8)

No feeling for the Dallas Stars? They have a very talented and dangerous team. As a hockey guy I seems crazy to me but totally understand many are not into it, it probably feels like watching soccer. It's an acquired taste.

Being in Minnesota, I'll admit I'm a homer for pretty much any of the local teams.

Hockey and specifically the MN WILD are definitely my sport/team. My wife and I have split season tickets with a couple friends for a number of years now, and a hockey game every couple weeks is a great way to get through our winters which seems to drag on forever. I'm sure many intermissions will be spent scrolling through the phone looking at slingshot pictures this year.

On the Motorsports side of things, I'm also a fan of MOTO GP motorcycle racing (no TV broadcast this year so it's been tougher to follow) I've been to all three tracks they've raced in the USA over the last few years. Laguna Seca, Indy and COTA in Austin.

Who do you cheer for? Cheer against?
