Its been so unseasonably hot in humid in Wisconsin. mid to high 90's with what feels like 80% humidity. My garage door torsion springs broke last week, finally got to it last night. Working in a garage with the door closed was hell. All the cheese is melting state wide, need snow!

What a great event it was and I am so relieved Otter walked away. When I radioed to the spotters for his location and no one could see him my stomach dropped. I feared the worst that the went over the edge.

Wow where are you now?

I have one new set of hydraulic right system on a blow out sale. These are new never installed. Customer went with a different setup so we never installed them. MSRP $4999.00 Sale price $3999.99 shipped.
With a push of a button you can raise or lower your sling and stop at any desired height in the range. These are the performance clickers with the added hydo ram on top so it is a performance system. Stay low for looks and performance and put the button to go up for ramps, driveways, speed bumps ect...here is a vid:

Made it back to central California in one piece. A big shout out to the group at Welter performance for their incredible customer service this weekend. @Jeff Welter parked his personal slingshot and took parts off of it to put in the mine to keep me running during the event. Then they topped that gesture by using their lift to look for front end damage and corrected it after I gobbled up a few cones on the hill climb. That was one strong zip tie you put on there.
@Turbosling found the time to do another alignment after the mishap.
@TravAZ help me reconnect that driver side fender and it held all the way back to California.Thank you to @ivor, Welter Performance, @Turbosling, Wicked Hitch and the Avon PD for sponsoring, taking the time to manage the events and allowing us to do the awesome events.
I do have to say that running the Alpha turbo along with the Welter Performance 2 1/2 inch exhaust allowed me to scream up that hill. A little too fast on my second attempt.
Those that are still traveling back please be safe.
Good to see you made it back! Now get to that camp ground! -
95 but 102 heat index in Manhattan KS. I am parked in campground overlooking a lake for two weeks. Total miles 7810 - Kansas to SSITS to Washington State to SSITR and back to Kansas.
Their should be a iron butt for slings! You would be queen!

Wow, it was one incredible trip we had. What a great event. @Turbosling and @JeffWelter, thanks for helping Ivan with two of the greatest events ever pulled off at a rally IMHO The hill climb and autocross were just fantastic. I'm about to run out of verbs. To those I met personally, or those I just passed in the night, thank you all for a great week with awesome memories. We did all 13.5 hours (960 miles) today. I'm glad I have shocks and seats that are not factory!
@slolane I can't say enough about your knowledge and kindness, and your wife is one tough cookie!
@MBMedic and @SLLE Canada It was great meeting my northern friends and putting faces with these names!
@SaltyJ It is always my pleasure to see you.
@RichArlt You are a class act, I'm glad I got to know you.
@adventure4me Great meeting a legend!
@StickerDick Thanks for the decals, and letting me check out that Honda. It kind of reminded me of the last boat I had that broke something every time I took it out. That being said, it is an original and obviously you have spent countless hours on it.
@mniron Phil, it was great talking with you and seeing your fantastic clean looking machine. The fenders didn't flap at all on the way home.
The rest of you made an impact as well, it was a great week! Thanks @ivor Nathan for working so hard to keep us all in line and on time.Last but not least, a shout out to my brothers in blue at Avon PD without whom the best events would not have happened. Stay safe out there@texas
@Texas T It was great to meet you and put a face with a name!

Any oil on the ground? I've seen two split angle drive units fail.

I bet it is pretty tricky at first.
I am sure the new owner will be pumped to have that machine!
The brake being on a lever definitely takes more effort to stop. Gas can be tricky if you're wanting to take off quicker from a stop, I tend to over accelerate and spin the wheel a bit. -

Took a short vid driving the auto slingshot with hand control for brake and throttle. The conversion is a paraplegic customer in NYC. Takes a few to get used to working the throttle with your left hand. At first muscle memory I kept going for the brake with my foot at the same time.

@Turbosling I just read your post and I'm having a hard time expressing myself. I've never had anything like this happen and all I can say is thank you so much!
You did your deed and you're part of one of the best generations. It's our responsibility to take care of our elders, especially hero's. After all you are a oldfogey! -
Very honored to help a great man. I met Paul last year when I was working at sligmods event in Cali. I had a rental car but Paul gave me a ride from the hotel to the event center. It was a long day, and when the day was over among all of the people and slingshot owners Paul made sure I had a ride back.
We got talking and got to know each other. Paul told me about his time in Vietnam and we talked about how sour and wrong it was when hero's returned home to be spit on and bashed. Vietnam was no joke and the scars that follow I will never know but talking to Paul I got a small glimpse of what he endured.
We stayed in touch after the slingmods weekend. It was the middle of winter here and the day I had the V8 sling out on the frozen lake doing exhibition runs I get a msg that Paul smoked his sling. I call him up to see what was up and he sounded pretty exited for what I was told happend. Sure enough Paul was excited because he raced a supercharged mustang and beat it even though his engine took a dump after the race! As I was asking him what happend, what the engine sounded like ect... He kept saying oh well I still won!!
The slingshot is a toy for most of us, but for Paul the sling a machine that lets him forget the past and live on among good friends.
I thought about this allot late at night and when I was with my family and enjoying beautiful day's fee as a bird. None of this is possible if it is not for people like Paul and all of our armed forces that keep us free and safe.I call up Travis and devise a plan to help Paul and Travis is on board! Few more calls and get a few others to jump in and of course josh at Slingmods was more than willing to fill up a goodies bag! From the amazing work ive seen painter do I call him up and he jumps in before I can even finish what im saying!! The valve cover and coil cover that I got back gave me tingles.
The plan was for me and troy to fly out and help Travis install the engine and goodies but this spring/summer was just too crazy and we haven't been able to make time to get out. The big thanks is to Travis @TravAZ he kept at it and got it done with the help of Josh at Arizona Kawasaki to make sure the circle was completed!

Looks good @MISTERZ06. I hope you get lots of joy from it. @Turbosling does meeting the Pres. mean Tom might be seeing some Alpha love for his V?
Most likely. What I found amazing is that they are transparent and support after-market. Polaris won't even release sales numbers or forecast #'s -
If Alpha picks up the Vanderhall that right there would be push some people with doubts would need to jump on it.
I have been looking but I can't even find a forum of people discussing/hyping it other than random threads here and there.
Its still a nitch vehicle and in small numbers. They do not plan on making a ton of them this year. I forget the #'s but its very small. They are also not a big conglomerate like Polaris and have multiple dealers in every state and forces them to have multiple models on the floor.
It will take a year or so I think before this thing really takes off and that will happen as they ramp up production. These are pretty much all hand made not automated like the SS. -
Great bunch of guys the president and sales manager stopped by the shop this spring and we had a great conversation. Very different vehicle than the slingshot and its targeted at a different demographic. I too was "ehh" about the FWD but when I drove one it feels very neutral. You don't have the push and slip like the ss has but pull and grip.
