Been away for awhile as I went back to 2 wheels. Picked up 2022 SLR this week and in love all over again. Had concerns about new motor but it runs out real nice.

Yes, one in the same, created a new user as work pc kept blocking me. finally home and original login is working. Have not bought another sling yet, working through some things, hope to have everything resolved latter this summer. Wanted to provide some help to the new owner of my sling and provide some extra stuff I still have for it. Have been offered a couple of slings to use for Maggie Valley, so I hope to make it again this year.

    arosejr,
I have the same deal but no food is involved, set of base wheels and tires in Indianapolis, needs new tires. Free to good home as long as you provide a free service to someone else in the Slingshot community. This is to include extra parts you have laying around or buy some bling and send along. I did not start this, but I say lets see how long we can keep this alive. PS- I learned everything I know from Painter, the KING of pass-along.

Do not judge the slingshot by the opinion of others as everyone is different. We try to personalize our rides and improve performance and that takes us all in different directions. I am 6'2" 270lb and have tried aftermarket seats and now have the new velocity seats. Swapping them back out as the stock seats are still the most comfortable to me for long distance riding. Stock shocks are good handling if you are decent driver ( oh yeah I went there ) stiff but little body roll and can nail corners. I have the JRI as they take the sharpness out of the cracks and bumps in the road (wife request). TAKE A TEST DRIVE THEN DECIDE - MOD AS MONEY ALLOWS

Its called "Sit your ass in a sling". Pick a start line 4 foot from the Slingshot, time people on getting to the vehicle, sitting in it and latching the seat belt. Then unlatching, getting out and back to the start line. You have a Judge sitting in the passenger seat to verify the seat belt get latched. If you have ever seen someone try to get in and out of a slingshot in a hurry, its hilarious. Make sure they sign a waive.

Okay, I put in the new Polaris Sport Velocity seats this weekend (cause the wife saw all your pictures and liked the looks) so I will offer my comparison to the stock SL seats. The base on the new ones is more level vs the old which angled down toward the back. The new backs had a pronounced lumbar support which push me more forward and this combined with the level base cushion has me sitting closer to the steering wheel by 1" (belly to lower steering wheel) and about 1" higher (line of sight over windshield). Hope this makes sense. First impressions they sit me different and was not sure, but after 10 hours between Sat and Sun I am starting to like them. Hitting hard bumps you actually feel your ass (I am not recommending you feel your ass) compressing into the foam base and the lumber hump feel nice after you get used to it. When hitting the twisties hard you do feel the additional side bolsters, but they are soft and still allow you to move some, I would say they are slightly better than stock. For compare I am 6' 1" and 270 lbs (this is all food abuse not muscle). As far as getting in and out, it is not any more difficult then before and as I am up a little higher, it actually seemed easier. I am not the type to give great reviews just because I spend my money on a product, but for the price this was a good purchase. Love the looks of the new Red trim over the old as it matches the SL paint much better.

Just got back from 4800 slingshot miles, Rocky's, Brice, Zion and grand canyon. Another rear tire bald, but I read all this and have to ask, Painter what are you putting in the kool-aid? I mean you a good guy with great talent, but I think half these people want to have your baby.

Just bringing you back down to earth. Love ya too and I think I need a hug.
