    Congrats.

Do we dare ask how many arms and/or legs you had to leave at the dealership to retrieve your ride?

The assistant service manager printed out a receipt with a total of $6,461.77 and handed it to me. I told him that was about $4,000 more than I expected. I then pulled out my credit card and asked "who do I pay?" He told me that I had already paid. This confused me until he explained that the amount on the receipt was charged to the Fort Worth store. So, I walked out without having to pay anything for the work they had done. I'm so glad to have it back and it's going to be a little too cold for enjoyable rides.

Thanks for all the suggestions and words of encouragement.

Finally an update with good news. My slingshot has been repaired and is running. The technician wants to test it and make sure it's really fixed. That has been delayed due to rain but I should be able to get it this week.

That's what mine did to me. I hope you're right and it's something simple.

I think I finally got some good news. The Fort Worth shop is having to pay to fix the engine in my Slingshot. I was told that they ordered a cylinder block, piston and rings and hydraulic hose for the clutch. Maybe with a little luck, I'll get it back before Thanksgiving.

As of today, 9/6, Ridenow Hurst is working with an insurance adjuster and Suncoast to get me another engine. I don't have a timeline as to when it will get fixed.

I contacted Suncoast Cycle Sports this morning and they asked that Ride Now Powersports Hurst contact them and provide photos and other info as to what is wrong with the motor. The guy at Hurst was telling me that there was shrapnel in it that damaged the cylinder walls, pistons and head. I'll call tomorrow and see what they figured out and what I need to do. I think I might see a very minuscule glimmer of hope.

Well Scanman whats the verdict any news

Very bad news. I was told that this engine is bad and I need another new one. I should have gone with the built engine and been done with it, but now, I get to spend even more money because I'm right back where I started after spending over $6000 on a used engine. I'm going to bite the bullet and get the built engine. Boy did I F**K UP on this one.

Mine was coming on when I bought it. I found out later that the dealer had ordered the 2 pressure switches and let me know when they came in. They changed them out when I took it for an oil change.

Another disappointing update. The tech that is working on my Sling is going to be out of town all next week for training. That means I won't get another update till the 20th. I'll be lucky if I get it back before next month.

After talking to the service department guy, I had to OK them to remove the engine to tear it down and see why cylinder 4 has no compression. With that, I'll have a bill of just over $1900 not including repairs at that shop, $1411 at the other shop and $2700 for the engine. That puts me at just over $6000 so far. I could have bought the built engine from DDMWorks and for just a little more than I've already spent, I could have had a new engine. What the HECK was I thinking?!?!?!?

yes Daughters safety and health are whats most important - - - having said this I am sorry for your frustration. sucks when everything seems to hit all at the same time. I think we have all been there at one point or another in our lives 8|

My daughter is fine, just embarrassed and sorry she wrecked my truck. I got the call from insurance that they are calling it a total loss. Some of the money will go to getting her Mazda 5 repaired and back on the road again.

.....im hoping he hasnt replied yet because his azz is stuck to the seat and he has that smile on his face we all had on day one bringing it home......(or at least i did in the rain)

I'm waiting on the shop that is supposed to be checking out a miss and check engine light. The Ft. Worth shop was supposed to take it to the Hurst, TX shop to get it checked out and fixed but I haven't heard from them even after calling. I never thought it would take this long to get it fixed. I'm very frustrated. Last week my daughter totaled my Avalanche in the school parking lot...ran into a lamp post.
