ok. Let's bring this back to the topic..... I was thinking about having some sort of lanyard with a name tag at the event. Just for Slingshotinfo.com members. Maybe some type of brightly colored lanyard with a clear plastic pocket to hold a printed logo and name and forum name... anybody got any input on this....
As long as mine says El JeFe

Dave, what shocks are those?
These are our DDMWorks Ohlins Coilcovers we have been developing .... when the slingshot has an engine in it .. and is put together enough to drive on the road. But they are amazing and should be available in the near future.

I was contemplating installing WP dual-exhaust... now, I'm thinking this!!
@MACAWS @Dave@DDMWorks Thoughts??@ericastar76 we will be testing one of these new exhausts with our supercharger here in the near future. The welter dual 2.5 works well with our supercharger so we expect this one to work well .... as well.

Working on getting things caught up and ready for Maggie Valley. If we get it all sorted we would love to join in on the fun.
Will keep you guys posted. -
@Cywolv, it's a 315 35 20 for the rear... First time trying the brand, but low cost and mentioned to me by Henry (alpha)... It's an Achilles Desert Hawk UHP. 245 45 18 for the fronts... Those are Achilles ATR Sport 2s...
I'm still avoiding rain/wet roads at all costs, so I'll see how it performs... Got them mounted yesterday at Costco and planning to put on Saturday with @DKF Texass help...
Hey @MiM we have never used Achilles tires before here, but we always have customers looking for new rear tire options, so this is interesting. I didn't know much about those tires, so I looked them up. The tire you have listed for the rear comes up as an SUV tire? just want to make sure there was not a typo ? Sounds like it would be good for getting longer tire life and traction in the rain, but less overall grip than the stock Kenda. Let us know how it works out and it was good meeting you in Texas!
From their website - DESERT HAWK UHP UTQG 400-A-A

They must have used JB Weld when they put in the black bolts!!!
How much room do we have to jack up the transmission 1/2" to 1"?
Would it help to heat the black bolts with a propane torch?
Felt like I was going to pull the Sling off the jack stands last night and couldn't get the black bolts to budge.
Also, on the Welter mount, it tappers down on one side, which direction does the narrow end go / point?
May have to pull out the air impact wrench!
Those bolts are in there pretty good. I would go straight for the impact wrench.
You will have to jack it up as needed to make room and remove the bottom portion of the mount.
I would NOT use a torch under the slingshot. And in this situation I don't think it would help anyway.
Be careful and don't knock it off the stands. Like I said I would go for the strongest power tool / air tool you can get.
Even if the bolts break you will still be able to get the two parts out of there so no big deal.Just take note when you remove the top half of the factory mount and you will see which way it is supposed to tapper.

Thats been my moto since i went through puberty.

The slingshot trans mount has really long studs that stick down through the frame of the sling.
Step 1 is to remove the nuts and cut those studs down as close as you can.The trans mount is two separate parts, the bottom black steel part and the upper aluminium part.
You will have to unbolt the two halves and remove the mount in two parts.
There is a nut on top that you will have to hold when removing the bolts joining the two halves.
This part is HARD I would recommend power tools / air tools if you have something that will fit up in there.
You can jack the trans up at this point to make more room for the tools.Once the bottom half is out you can remove the bolts holding the top half.
And install the new welter performance mount.
Hope that helps.

Doesnt history show that all you have to do is take her by to see the vendor's product? I would take her straight to DDM and the rest should be history.
All it takes is one ride ...
