That far up? Ouch.
LOL Good catch - and no, they don’t sag that far down!
corrected the typo.

So what have others with 15/16 SS done to block the hot air blowing through peddle openings etc in the “ firewall” of the drivers side footwell??
This is one of those aspects of the Sling that I will need to address this summer. I will try several options from covering over holes to air ducts. Have wondered if the windshield could have built in air scoops that would route air into / through the dash. Have thought about hood scoops to force cooler air into the engine bay. Wondered if someone could build a molded air scoop hanging from the mirror mounts and route air into the foot well.
I may also install the DDM oil cooler to possibly help cool the engine. Or something like an electric bilge air blower to pull cooler air into the footwell.
Not sure what or how but will be trying something this year.
No matter where I position my right leg, one of the holes in the firewall directs hot air onto my right shin and it starts to drive ME nuts after an hour or more drive.
We are trying the Smokey Falls Lodge this year.
Have stayed at Beat Western the last two years and was fine.
I am about to cancel my Wed 5/30 - Sun 6/3 reservation at the Comfort Inn in MV (have another place to stay).
Maybe you can pick it up if you want to stay at the Confort Inn.
I mounted my amp under the driver’s seat as I had to feed front, side, and roll hoop pods.
It is fairly open under the back deck panel and Not to difficult to fish the wires to each side.
I ended up drilling a small hole in the corner of the cavity / well that gets exposed once you remove the stock panel under the roll hoop.
Kind of hard to describe but there are several routes to that area and places to zip tie the wire.
You may want to take the back panel off as well - will give you much easier access to that area.
Not sure if that helps.
I thought about using the hood button holes (both posts have snapped off) and mounting flags through the hood to the frame somehow.
I would feel all presidential rolling down the highway!
Display MoreThe Oconaluftee Island Park in Cherokee might be an option.
Decent drive from Maggie Valley to Cherokee. On the way back to MV, you can take part of the Blue Ridge Parkway
Hope the link works
I just realized the Cherokee Nation may not allow consumption of alcoholic beverages in their parks and in public. You can’t buy beer at the stores or gas stations. But they will sell you beverages at the casino!

Good f*^€}ing grief!!! Who derailed this “I got the baddest mofo 4 cyclinder ecotech imagined” that can do a 100 yard burnouts thread into some smarmy sappy congratulatory marriage celebration?
P.S. congrats to you @Lost soul !!!
P.S.PS. - the Bourbon won tonight. Apologies!
Yes - I had a tender plugged into the back cig lighter all winter.
Works fine.
Economic pressure points are only starting to be leveraged. Mutual funds will reduce or eliminate stock positions in gun manufacturers, board of directors may force companies to get out of selling guns, other banks and possibly credit card brands may not allow certain transactions.
We are beginning to legislate through corporate social policy and significant financial influence.
Have a safe trip getting back home. Be careful as I am sure you pushed yourself and are tired.

@Zorasmiles - for what I have and my setup, I like the base level I get out of the two 6.5” subs (I do have the output level turned up). The setup easily fills out the lower range.
Note that I have front, side and the roll hoop speakers. I make all the noise I need and frankly the sound quality is quite good.
I didn’t want to give up a storage compartment.
I haven’t ridden in a Sling with a sub under the seat or in the storage box so I don’t know if I am missing anything.
Although, I have been considering adding the under seat sub just because I can, and it could be real obnoxious at a stop light! Don’t really need it but would be fun.

I just re-read this thread and thought a few follow-up comments on my experience would be helpful.
1) I never went back and re-installed the pod or addressed the spinning bolt issue. Hasn’t mattered one bit. Nothing has moved, loosened up, or fallen apart.
2) My initial concern with the wire connection on the right side of the pod - well it’s not an issue. You can’t really see it and just plan for a little extra length of the speaker cable and you will be fine.
3) No one has put a toe up into the speakers and damaged them.
4) I am very pleased with the 6.5” subs output and the quality of the pod.
just my $.02.
I have a question for anyone that installed a sub under the dash...not the one you eat! Does it do the job? Is it worth it? Or do I have to take up space behind the seats?
@Lui - see the thread below - I shared my install experience in that thread.
I haven’t had a 10” or 12” sub woofer in a car or Sling so can’t really compare.
I am more than satisfied with the 2 6.5” subs under the dash. I can see the side view mirrors vibrating to the bass. More than enough for me.
Alternative Subwoofer Enclosure Location for the Polaris Slingshot!!
Are you running that ship on Lake Norman, or Lake Wylie???
Lake Norman.
Has anyone upgraded their horn?
If you have, what did you use?
Is there somewhere to get a plug that mates to the factory plug?
Upgrading the horn was one of my early mods.
I went with the Flosser from Slingmods. Had the wiring harness to connect to factory.
Had to run a dedicated power lien from battery to up front.
Still working fine.
