While I was at Alpha yesterday, they installed their Brake Brace as I was whining about my pedal being mushy again, possibly needing to be bled again. I was going to put one on like a year ago, but they hadn't quite finished the production run yet.

Did not think that it would solve my problem or be that much of a difference to be honest, but Damn! Solid as a rock. So if you don't have one, I highly recommend it.

What does the brace do that bleeding and filling the system doesn't? Sorry if that question is a little stupid...not familiar with this particular gear.

I was an early adopter, installed myself. It's not a difficult job technically but it is a fair amount of work, figure on 2 to 3 hours. The radiator shroud stops the hot air (whether moving or fan pushing) from blowing over the upper part of the engine, (adding more heat) onto the firewall and through the various openings into the cockpit. If you have a stock muff, a shield is provided that wraps around the back of it insulating that huge heat generator. Having ridden on several 90 degree days, I can attest to the fact that it is well worth doing and one of the best bangs for the buck since Polaris seems to be subsidizing the cost of this kit.

Are you saying you don't have to buy the heat shield kit from Slingmods or wherever? Or do you mean something else by "Polaris is subsidizing?" I've been looking at this option very seriously...do NOT need the excess heat.

Also considering cutting out the cat and porting the exhaust out the body under the flare. Has anyone else done that, or something similar?

Nothing small like that (like my Navy days). Talking 2 units, each at 1250 megawatts electrical...

    We're happy you've joined us!

"Small like that," huh? Not so small when there's 8 of them online at once...

But, seriously, 1250MW is a load. You have fun with that. Better you than me.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Interesting place you all have here.

    Hey KayTwo,
Thanks for the reply. I am good where I am going to be spending time to CC. Where my state license is not recognized I will just have to go into transport mode

Are you going to go to Maggie Valley with all us fantastic people?!

I am what I believe they would call "an f'n nub" here. What is this Maggie Valley of which you speak?

I suspect, however, that unless the answer to my question is "a really cool parking lot off of I-64 where we all stop to say hi to each other for about 15 minutes during afternoon rush hour on a Thursday some time far enough in the future that you can plan it out and tell your boss "F&#% you, I'm not working late" so that you can stop by for five minutes on your way home to the screaming toddlers in the front yard"...the answer is probably "no." Regretfully.

Ok Has anyone else run during hydro conditions with the trac. cont. off? I have done it once and I never felt as if she was going to loose it.

Anyone ever respond to this? Didn't see it, didn't know if you got a PM.

Shutting down traction control was the first thing I thought of. Well, second, after "Slow the f$%& down, dummy." Guess I'll be finding out soon...impossible to avoid the rain around here.

Coming back from SSITS last year I was driving through Georgia and blew past a cop well over 100 mph. I was in the left lane and he was in the middle lane. No radar or anything. I just wasn't paying attention. He pulled me over and wrote the ticket as 90 in a 65. Ended up costing me over $700 and now I'm considered a "Super Speeder" in the state of Georgia.

Trooper: "No one goes through my state that fast, son."

    Me: "Sherman did."

    Trooper: :00000003:

So I know some of this was discussed on the old forum. I didn't feel like searching it to find what I read before.

I have a LTC class A in Massachusetts and I looked online and saw that NC you are allowed to carry. The problem is the states I travel through do not recognize MA LTC. Now this might open up a big discussion but our constitution states we have the right to bear arms. States pretty much put stipulations for control and to collect money. I know there have been court cases where people had a license for a certain state and they were pulled over in another state that did not recognize it and they fought it all the way to Supreme Court and won based on Constitutional Carry.

What is everyone's thoughts on this. ?(

Hey, brother. I've been carrying on the road (4 wheels, 2 wheels, and now 3 wheels) in one form or another for a decade and a half. I OC or CC every day in one way or another. Seems like you have a lot of help here, but if you want another voice, PM me. This is my favorite topic in the world, and I will go on all day.

For those who are interested in maps to show you where you can go (if you care about that kind of thing), I didn't see these posted, so check:

and look up the federal "peaceable journey" law.
