Want to bring this back to see if anyone can help me.

How much room is there above the tire? I have a taller tire and was wondering if there was enough clearance for it.

The Slingshot stuff is too much money to just buy and experiment with!

I got the new switch wired up. Got it at Advance auto and it is waterproof.

I was able to get enough slack in the wiring harness that I did not need to lengthen the wires...just tinned them.

I can reach the button easily behind the wheel.

Just used a 3/4" spade bit.

I recently bought a used Touring Sparco steering wheel to replace the base wheel.

Basically, I did not pay attention and the clock spring was not lined up on the backside and i crunched it.

Before installing I did check that the horn button worked and it was sporadic.

So...can I just eliminate the clock spring and hard wire a horn button?

I know the only thing the clock spring does is prvide horn power, but I believe it acts as a spacer too. So my thought is to disconnect the wires and reinstall the spring body.

    Any thoughts?

I just installed this on jackstands and didn't feel it was too bad. I think they did a great job with the tight clearance. Have not driven it yet but i do like what i hear.

Just to break up all the black, i hit the edge if the tips with a palm sander...small touch that i feel looks good.

I don't, but I'm sure Funcycle, ejford and others have put close to or over 100,000 miles on one (or if you count the swing arm recall two) sets of bearings. As Polaris tech center says, of all the bearings they received back under warranty for being noisy, only 5% of them were actually bad. For what that;s worth

i carry a spare set of bearings with me in the Sling all of the time. In the early days you may or may not get replacement bearings in a timely fashion. The first person this happened to was from New Jersey and he was at the SSITS 2015 and it took 4 months or so to get the bearings to Aiken, S.C. I think he picked his Sling up in November after the bearing replacement. The one bearing you can get after market the other with the sensor/magnet you have to get from Polaris. The one side is a bitch to replace without special tools.

Mine was bought used...a 2017 with 16k miles.

I first noticed it while backing into my garage. Now it's a slight noise while driving forward. I think belt tension may be what hurt it.

I plan to do bearings and adjust belt a little looser.

Sounds like ordering OEM will be fine.

    Thanks!

kev ordered a Tallboy from your site. Trying to redeem my points but there doesnt seem to be anybway to do it?!

Please answer any of my forms of messaging.

When I bought mine it had the bullet speed top to it. I’m 6’4 235 and the way I sat there were multiple Blindspot‘s because of the tubing. It’s a very well-made product the quality I found to be very good however it was the first thing off. It was difficult for me to get in and out with it as well. Perhaps sit in one first and decide for yourself. Again, It seemed to be a very well-made product but it just didn’t fit me.

I'm only 5'7" so I will probably be fine...wife is a little shorter than me.

I have read in other posts that the Slingshot itself may not be perfectly square. I'm sure they are not assembled with as stict of a tolerance as a Ford or Chevy plant.

Look at tge angle drive and all its noise...whoever heard of a rearend not using shims to set pinion gear depth?!

I'm 5'11" and have the original tall boy and love it. I look right through it. The tallboy +2 works well if you have a top and want it to go almost to the roof line.

With a top, does it reflect air into the roof or just flow across, or just totally go over it?

Bringing this back for any updates you all can give.

I just bought the Twist canvas top from kev at Allthingslingshot.

I'm 5'7'' and don't mind looking though the shield. I also don't want the shield too short and bounce air up into the roof and causing turbulance.

What is the recommended height? I'm thinking the Nascar +5.
