Yeah it was bad assed. Broke away from the group and opened it up on the way back out.
Speed limit in, and the scenery was teriffic.
Speed limit ++ on way out, plus no traffic what so ever, and that ROAD was outstanding!

Happy Birthday, Anita.
Brian & Kim from Manitoba
soooo did the Vegas heat melt yo sling snow?
nah.... NM took care of it, and AZ fried my phone for a day, lol
Rides here start tomorrow and temps are to dip into the 70s. Going to knock out Valley of Fire I think
you register for the ride when you check in when you get here.
Easy peezy
it should be noted, my pitstops were a lot shorter than when my........ well.... the Mrs seems to time her bladder according to my fuel gauge..... every 1/2 tank
I'm curious (for my own future rides). How many miles/kilometers was that for you in how many days? How did you break it up?
2200 ish miles... tired and don't remenber exactly.
Day 1 i drove 1.5 hours and then installed my new Bullet Speed top
Then drove till about 7:30. Road got icy so I got the hell off it.
Then i was on the road each day about 9, (9:30 in Wichita cause it was raining ice pellets and they suck)
Shut down about 8 except for last night. Weather was so awesome, I drove till about 10, lol, even made a wrong turn in Albuquerque. Made Bugs proud, lol
I think when we worked it out, averaged about 600 miles a day.... regular stops, gas, quick food and bio runs
Well what do you know?
Made it safe and sound, and only a little saddle sore, lol
One day of rest and bring on the group rides!
My temps tomorrow morning when I pull out for the Vegas Rally
Fricking -30c with the windchill. Was supposed to be -6, lol
You know..... Tripod should have to attend all events this year by default...
Just sayin.......
Holy crap...how long are you going to be in Vegas? lol. Also, sent you a friend request on Facebook. I'll shoot you my number over PM sometime next week. Looks like I should be showing up on Wednesday around 1230pm...but this is Spirit Airlines...so I'll either crash or be really late.
really just 5 days. Arrive on Monday, wife gets in on Friday, we head out to the Grand Canyon on Saturday, then down to Temecula till the 18th. She flies out of Vegas again, I stay overnight then head for home on the 19th.
Back in Manatoba in around the 22nd.
It is my 20th year and got my bonus week of holidays. Put them in for this one. Heh, I only work 4 days in April, lol
I doesn't appear that MEFI Bob will be attending this show.
There are probably around 10 coming from AZ. I am signed up and hope to be there for a couple of days, unless work drags me to the east coast during that time.
Vegas Baby!
I am also coming in from the AZ route too now, lol
I should be good still. Leaving Friday, and still plan to be in Vegas either late Sunday or early Monday. Heading straight South to Wichita, KS and then West to Vegas. Weather looks a lot warmer this route too, lol
But, yeah, a back-up plan never hurts, lol
i will just miss this one but you should definitely try to do Red Rock AND if you can The Valley of Fire. The Valley of Fire is about 40 min north on the 15- amazing scenery and great roads. Red Rock is real close and you can probably see it from your hotel room. It’s a one way road so no on coming traffic- have fun!!
I would imagine the group rides will take us around those areas I am sure. Either way, I am looking forward to some heat, lol
Can't wait for next week.
Vegas Baby!!
Damn.... I never got to meet up with you.
Happy trails Tripod
Well us Canadians wanted some sunshine, but we asked for a bit of heat and didnt get any of that. So we're both not happy, lol
I have these on my Sling. Mounted them in the rear to project the "Bat Signal" down on the ground when the signals are activated.
They burnt out in a year.... but they looked cool as hell when they worked
A would-be carjacker here in Houston shot the driver of the vehicle he tried to carjack when he realized it was a stick and he didn't know how to drive it.
wow, that sucks.....
Grew up on a 5 spd with a trans axle split shifter and an old International with 2 shift sticks in an "H" configuration.... forget what it was called.
Yeah.... a simple 5 spd is easy peezy
New route as it currently stands. vyZJNfK7yA42
Staying flexable due to the weather system in the entire middle of the USA, lol. However, this route was always an option for me, it just wasn't my first choice.
So...... lol, who's going to Vegas this way? lol
