Hey Mark. What kind of price are we looking at for the rear that will fit the 345? I've got the Welter duals and glad to see fender coming out that will fit.
Thanks, Paul
So what is it about the Polaris that fits and Metricks won't? The fact that the Polaris has the back cut short (which half way defeats the purpose of the fender), and that allows the exhaust pipes to fit?
They both fit if the sling doesn't have any modifications. I'm having a problem because I have Welter dual exhaust and I also have a 345 25 20 tire. The Polaris fender is made for a 305 and my exhaust is secured directly in front of the rear tire which eliminates the Metricks Hugger Fender. Its not the products, it's my modifications.
Here’s a link for a Polaris OEM aftermarket fender that fits 305 rear tires: (different colors available)

Thanks for the info and pictures Jeff. Unfortunately it isn't going to fit my sling as I have a 345 25 20 tire on it and Polaris made this for the 305. Looks like I'll be waiting for Metricks to come up with one that will fit with your exhaust. Thanks again Jeff and I'll see you in Las Vegas.
The new polaris fender will work with the WP Duals. We will have them as well as the polaris slingshade in stock at all upcoming slingshot events this year. Call and speak with Angie to book an install. 573 225-1821

Hi Jeff. I tried looking up pictures of the fender you're referring to but couldn't find it. Called and left a message for Angie to see if she can send pictures to my email or phone. I'm booked for Las Vegas and if it's wide enough and good looking, I'll be talking about an install. Thanks for giving me another option Jeff.
The Metrick's fender will definitely not fit with the exhaust that goes over the tire. Had the fender for years and I can assure you that it won't fit. I never put it back on after the warranty swing arm replacement because I had gone to a 315 tire. I see Doug a couple of times a month and I think the max size is 305 up to a 20" wheel for fender fit. He is almost done with a new one to fit up to a 345 tire and is taking the old one in trade. You won't find better craftsmanship or a nicer bunch of guys.
Thanks Andy, although it's not what I wanted to hear, it does save me a lot of money and a big headache!
Where the pipe crosses in front of the tire. From the back plastic to the rear of the pipe is 4 inches. From the tire to the pipe is 1 1/2 inch. I hope that makes since to you. I see your last post so you are looking at the same thing that I am. Look at the install video on here (this forum) I like the Duals also
I watched the install as well, after you mentioned that and now my only hope is that one of Metricks fenders will sit closer to the tire than the one they showed on the install. Some of their pictures show them sitting really close but not the one on the install. Although my rear is much wider the height of it is close to OEM so hopefully that will help. They sure look good and would really help back there.
I have the Welter Dual Exhaust and I just watched the Metrick's Fender install video. I am going to say no it will not fit. From what I am looking at it will not fit. If it would fit it would be real /real close almost touching.. But why would you not use the new Welter that exits just below the battery box. I know you like the Dual's looks better. I hope that helps.
I already have the Welter installed and I'm not wanting to change that. If nobody has one installed I guess it won't fit. Have to wait and see if Metricks has an answer. Appreciate the feedback @FunCycle
I'm running a large tire but the Metrick Hugger sits really close so I'm hoping. I'll check with @FunCycle. Thanks.
I'm trying to find out if a Metricks fender will fit with the Welter dual exhaust? It looks like it will from the pictures I've seen but I can't afford to make a purchase this large and not have it fit so please sound off if you know somebody that has this combo or if somebody tried and discovered it doesn't fit. Waiting on response from Metricks but thought I'd put it out there on the forum.
Thanks, Oldfogey aka Paul
This excellent example of camaraderie is what sets our community of brothers and sister above and beyond being just a forum! Great job to all those involved and its very exciting to see Paul @Oldfogey back up and running again!
Thanks STYLN. Can't tell you how good it feels to have it running. Looking forward to heading to Colorado with @TravAZ on Wednesday. Also looking forward to thanking some of the people in person that were involved in getting my sling running. Hope to see you there.
This is amazing!! We are honored to be apart of this. This shows how strong the community is and what we can do for each other.
Thank you for all the accessories and the support as it's nothing short of amazing! I really appreciate it.
Paul - We know how much the Slingshot means to you, and glad we could pitch in where possible! We thank you for your service!
Henry reached out when this first happened, told me the story, and told me what the plan was. Between being in touch with Henry and Travis, i'm glad we could do something to pitch in. We knew we had to help a brother out, and are glad to see you back up and running. This community is nothing short of amazing, and are glad to be apart of it.
Thank you so much and please tell Keith that I really appreciate it. Can't begin to express the gratitude I feel for all of you.
I woke up this morning and realized I wasn't dreaming because my sling is still under the awning in backyard! My family is as blown away as I am...almost! Had to throw some polish on it while it was clean from Josh's detailing. Stood there staring at it, giving thanks again to everybody involved. Just when I thought I had enough for a few minutes and was headed inside, my brother comes out and says pop the hood. Don't have to ask me twice! Then we were both mesmerized staring at my awesome valve cover for another half hour!!!! Unbelievable!
Hope to see many of you in Colorado, depending on the status of the motor for Travis' sling. If timing is right we'll install his motor and leave the next morning which would be a blast! Just have to wait and see what happens. Once again, thank you all for your support!
@Turbosling I just read your post and I'm having a hard time expressing myself. I've never had anything like this happen and all I can say is thank you so much!
I'm overwhelmed at this point by the incredible generosity I've received from you @Painter, Henry@'Turbosling', @Joshua Wesley Moore, Jeff Chapman and Cesar at Arizona Kawasaki & Slingshot, @SlingMods_Josh, Keith at SlingMods and of course, TravAZ. It doesn't happen often but I'm absolutely at a loss for words. It dropped my jaw and choked me up when I realized what was happening. When I saw your valve cover I was blown away!!! It really touched me @Painter and I just want you to know how much I appreciate it!
oldfogey did u ever try that new wind screen in back yet
No I haven't. Put my sling in garage in Punkin Center, a town north east of Phoenix. While there storm hit and the wash is running almost a foot deep! Afraid I can't get it out for awhile. I can get in but I can't get it out. Sucks.
Finished yesterday, couldn't put an update up because I spent the rest of the day, and a half a tank of gas, taking it for a test ride. Whoooooosh! Oh my. I had a gopro video of the first short ride, unfortunately it is NSFW with the language and I'm afraid my momma might hear me . Did I say Whoosh yet? I love that sound, it seems I have a small jet engine, under that unassuming Texas flag. I'm pleased in every way with the quality, fit, finish and technical support received from Henry @Turbosling and @AlphaAndy I give a whoosh factor plus 10.
Not sure about top end, but it did
pull110 in 4th gear yesterdaytry to test the limits. Gone are the days when I'm afraid to pass the car in front of me that is doing 60 in a 65...
Thanks Alpha. Quality product. 5 outta 5 whooshes. See, there is that word again!
Happy you got it together Texas T! From the sound of it you love it like I do. All the difficulties doing the install are forgotten on the first ride and you feel the acceleration. Your install looks beautiful with that blue. Ride hard and be safe.
My biggest concern at this time, is do I have the injectors in correctly... Had no idea they would just "pop" out. Pulled two of them out, and I thought WOW, look how big they are... pulled the grey plastic out of the block with them, had to stick that back in with a little grease as well.
I'll check pulley alignment as well. So I just shouldn't assume since the alternator mounts to those brackets that it is all lined up. At least that is what I'm hearing.
That's it. I thought the same way but it's not enough. I used a straight edge from pulley to pulley to make sure I got it right as it's too much work redoing it! When I did that, the brackets were parallel, which is stated in the instructions and I have had no further problem. I believe it was @Irobbi that mentioned you beating mustangs and camaros when you finish the install. He's spot on. A new mustang gt came up beside me on freeway and gave me thumbs up when he saw blower. Indicated he wanted to try it, I nodded and dropped into 3rd and we nailed it...wasn't even close! Blew my mind as I didn't expect to pull away from him so easily. He came up beside me and gave me thumbs up again. You are going to love it.
