sure, I could come down and rent a Slingshot, but one of the main points of great event like Maggie is all the vendors - - cant get a DDM Supercharger installed on a rental =O

Does that really happen? I mean do people get turbos/super chargers installed at events? I get lights, other mods that are fairly quick - but big mods like that seem unreasonable to do outside of a garage. Maybe that's just my thoughts...

Afternoon....new to the group but not new to motorcycle just slingshots so I defer for advice and suggestions from those much more knowledgeable than me. Son is graduating college so it’s me time again and that’s going to be a Slingshot. Been wants one since they first came out.

So in the market for a used one somewhere in the neighborhood if 2017 thru 2019. Questions I have is on pricing. Doing a lot of looking and the prices are all over the board from 16500 to 26000 for that year model range. Now I know that people put a lot of money into some of these and try to recoup a lot but for instance a 2019 S that is stock asking 18600 low miles less than 2k. Or a 2017 Sl pretty much stock for 17500 to 18000 examples also with low miles.

What do I need to be looking for when comparing prices. Besides looking it up on KBB. Im not picky on color or much of anything else(will add top layer if necessary for South MS sun.) I’m not opposed to driving a distance to get one either. One I was

looking at was 7 hrs one way. Not in a huge hurry but would like to get one in the next month or so. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the group! Tons of great info and folks here.

I'm partial to the 18-19 years, because I own one yes but also because it has the GM motor vs Polaris which I'm sure you know based on the years your looking at. I understand angle drive was "upgraded" on 18/19 and then again on 20/21 models but don't know what that means or what the upgrade really is. I hear beefier, but until I see side by side I'll let a pro here speak to that one. I paid 15k for my 18SL with 1250 miles on it last summer for reference. This was also before things got fully covid crazy. Good luck in your search, I've seen some really good deals lately and then some folks trying to get every dime in mods they put into it back out too!

Picked up a Insta360 camera, think gopro with lens front/back. Let it run yesterday when the 14yr old and I swapped out the front grill on the sling to test the camera out. Editing the video is tricky, films in 360 degree so you kind of need to keep track of what you want in the "frame". Sorry, few 360 spins, figuring the tracking out. Really looking forward to the wide angle 4k videos though and trying that out as well. No where near the level of you guys and your photos/videos, but upping my game a little! Oh and jacked it up as intent was to do bumper trim pieces as well, but didn't get that far...kempo classes for the boy got in the way.

For those that do attend, curious what you think about the Sarasota one. Have family 30min away and was looking at going if they have next year around the same time. Get the season started early and get to play in FL a bit. Love win/win situations!

Yup, named mine. No, don't talk to it unless you count cussing it out when things don't go as easy mechanically as they went in my mind planning it out...

YOLO - is what I call her and the wife calls him. Screw it, it's 2021 right? We were looking at bikes again when she found the listing on facebook up in Denver. Figured why not, friends all have a "toy" car they spent 40-50k on, I could spend half of that and have a fun thing for the wife and I to do together. YOLO was born from that thought and we've been having a blast making it ours. Wife's Zarate order showed up yesterday, she got YOLO in the front bumper trim piece so she's committed and I have more stuff to install.

I put away an entire pot of Mr. Coffee between 5am and 8am

Hell I can even drink it cold. But I must say that 7/11 has the best coffee in my book

    But I am lazy

Same, pot a day in that same window lol. Black Rifle is the flavor of the moment, but only cause I have pounds of it from last year's shooting season. As long as it's black and leaded I'm good!

Mounted the ZZP gopro camera mount today. Have a 10" extension to raise the camera from this mount point and hoping to do some playing with the 360 videos this summer. Also put a charge port up under rear deck like I saw one of you do on here. Keeps me from having to worry about it by the exhaust and making sure I tucked it. I also don't have to bend over to do it now, win/win.

.......WOW i like these new belts, got a chance to take it out today and felt secured to the seat.......

Do you have a seatbelt light with these, or how did you solve for the sensor under driver seat? Picked these up and plan to do as I need to pull at least driver seat one more time to wire amp with new cable. Thank You!

I know the first number is oil "weight" right? So similar in weight, just not sure the difference between the 40 and the 250 - is that viscosity or something?

I have one and a half of left of the Royal Purple, so will probably use that and then check back and see what the consensus is! I've heard the new angle drive is a bit beefier, but just what I read. Interesting that the oil specs changed.

Welcome to the forum! Tons of great info here!

That said, always negotiate! In my opinion, worst they will tell you is no and unless the item I'm after is in that short of supply, I always feel like I can find another one. Wouldn't discount the option of buying used either. Got my 18 with only 1500 miles on it for a steal of a price compared to some I saw. I still see tons of used out there for a good price and seems 17-19 year wise with recalls done is the sweet spot. I'm bias on that year range - these pro's on here will chime in and keep me honest! Good Luck!

Love the new designs! Will you be offering your custom colors on the mesh? I'd like some in Daytona Yellow :)
