Sorry. That is one of those persistent codes that only be cleared with Polaris’ proprietary Digital Wrench software. Yep, it sucks…
Thank you, that is a bummer. Any issue driving with the code if the sensor is good and gas is premium?

I have the knock sensor engine light, that doesn't auto reset itself after the repair is made. The closest dealer is too far to drive in 100 degree weather and pay them the min hr $134 of labor. Has someone finally made a consumer tool or a cheap knock off? If not can any Polaris (NON SLINGSHOT) dealership reset it or is the tool specific to the Slingshot. This is seriously such a joke.
Display More....you are correct, at least i know i wash mines alot & have been caught in 2 major rain storms on the highway BUT the issue as i see it now is getting one of these under the drivers seat......and at 3" height that is a major issue...
"Amazon.com: CERWIN Vega VPAS68 6″ x 8″ 4Ω 160W Max / 80W RMS Powered Active Enclosed Subwoofer + Remote Bass Control Knob: Home Audio & Theater" https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d…smid=A368NRREMFACJX&psc=1
This one here is 2.8" in height, so though it doesnt state marine grade, it might be the choice but my plans now is to build a box with the measurements of the cerwin vega and see how it fits under the seat b4 i order one.....im even thinking of maybe just mounting it on the sidewall inside my storage den behind my seat, i will still have some space for storage & i will be able to feel the bass and it will be safe away from the water elements....if i do decide in the storage than i might go for the 10" cerwin vega.....
The Cerwin 10 won't fit in the drivers storage bin. I tried after I found out it wouldn't fit under the seat. It's only 2.6 inches. If I could find a brand that was waterproof with good reviews I would have been all over it. When I wash the car, I'll plastic bag the unit; since I do spray water directly on the chairs. Where I have mine, I'm not concerned about rain storms. Well at least ones I'd dare drive in. That rear wheel has zero traction 🙃
Anyone remove the factory seat skin and added heating elements then recover the seats? It is even possible to remove the factory seat skin?
Lol i have a kicker L7 right now ported in the back of my trunk of my car and love it !
Yes! Wish I still had it for the occasional bass fix. Bulit this SI back in 2005.
No 1 best seller on amazon.....i see i have to take some measurements today and maybe place an order to get this done b4 bike season starts.......

I did so much research. A very common trend was these units failing or being overrated wattage. It was either the Cerwin 10 or the Kicker. I found the Cerwin for $174 and it for the most part had the best reviews in regards to reliability. Also Cerwin is known for bass. I think we all remember the 15 inch woofers in the wood grain home speakers
Display MoreI'm working on this setup, just to cold in my garage. The AMP is a 5-channel marine amplifier
This picture is just to show how tall the amp is
Love this setup! I wanted this but couldn't part with the $$$. I'd love a ported setup, but maybe I'm to old for that. In my early 20s I had 2000 rms Kicker L7s setup ported setup in my hatchback.
i see another smaller cerwin vega powered bass unit here, i always liked their products...now you got me thinking......

I think that one has to little power to be impactful.
.......so quick question , does this cerwin vega unit fit under the driver seat......? I see you say the clearance wasnt acceptable under the passenger seat.....
It doesn't fit on either side without raising the seat. The front to back length puts it at the very back of the seat and the seat at the back is only about an inch off the panel. I think I like the vertical mount better. You can access the tuning easily and it doesn't vibrate the bottom panel.
Thanks for the insight! I went with the driver's side due to that odd sideways bolt on the passenger. The length of the amp/sub combo was a little to long to be under the seat. The rear of the seat has less than an 1 inch of clearance. I'd have to raise the seat up over an inch.
Figured I'd toss out a few tips for the next person.
I removed the seat; 4 bolts 15mm, and the seat belt light plug (mine also had another unused plug that has 12volt power with the ignition on. Any ideas what this is for? Heated seats?)
Storage door just pops off. Removed the battery cover (2 40 torx, 2 pop pins), removed the battery completely due to the factory main power line is very short. I ran the amp power cable in the main rubber battery boot, then reinstalled the battery.
It mounted perfectly horizontally behind the drivers seat. I can move the seat all the way back and recline works fine. The storage door opens fine as well.
I used the seat mount bolt as my ground, ran the power through the lower seat belt hole to the battery (less than 24 inches of 8 gauage) and tapped into the driver's side speaker pod for my high level in. I didn't need to run a 12 volt remote on since I used the high level in due to using the stock head unit.
Sounds great, not much unwanted vibration, nice tight bass. Now the audio sounds full and rich.
Total cost $204 all in.
I searched and couldn't find any posts about slim subwoofer install under seats. I see a few members have them. I just picked up a Cerwin Vega 10. It's 2.6 H 9.6 W 13.6 D. I figure I'll need to add spacers to the passenger seat to give .25 height.
Tips? Better install points? Storage bin? Power? Using factory headset tapping into speaker as this accepts high gain. 🙏
That's right for a decent price.
I heard it doesn't give bass like in the storage but it will give enough to make it sound good
Heck put 1 under each seat
Not marine but I don't go out in the rain much
They also have a 12 inch but I don't think it will fit under seat.
Did this fit under the seat? Looking at a very similar one.
Hey guys, I sold my sling as is for 10k 😭. The buyer may want to remove the turbo. Will he need to install the stock map sensor or will the 2 bar work? Reason I ask is because I had to cut out the original harness and splice in a pig tail...I don't have the original nor do I remember how to rewire it.
Wow, that's not bad at all. I just bought a mint 16 SL LE with 17k for 11500. Sorry to hear about your trouble, makes me rethink the stage 1 turbo. Reading your posts, I see you were over 6PSI, which I think is "safe" for DDM stage 1.
Thanks! Ptsd, everytime I have a 3rd party do any work. Something happens. Recalls completed at dealer - 2 days later the surge tank fails. Obviously not related. Just had it switched to full synthetic but the mobile oil change company had to grab another tool to get the oil filter cap back on. I checked all his work but no one works on a car as well as yourself. I was coming down the canyon, could have been someone elses clutch or brakes I was smelling. I did have it in ACC trying to see if I could hook up my Galaxy buds to the headset function in the dash. Phone via Bluetooth to radio - radio to Bluetooth headphones. Is that possible even?
Slight engine smell almost electrical shortly after start up. Pulled off everything looked good did no5 shut off. Engine seemed to have slightly less power. No engine light just message. 0520230 31. After restart message went away as well. Thoughts 🙏
Mateo;
Just let me say you won't be disappointed in the experience that ZZPERFORMANCE provides, Kyle is a great person to deal with and always goes above and beyond with a true passion for the slingshot, as far as their product it will speak for itself, it is very well engineered and does exactly what they say it will.
On another note what is the chances of getting a group buy on a stock pile of rear tires for our slingshots?
Clean install! A year later what are your thoughts? Looks like the new exhaust is tight, is the passenger feeling the heat more than OEM? I figured I'd do the rear exit.
Thank you, love the community on this forum! I hope to be able to give advice soon rather than seek.
The engine light went out after the 4th restart! Moral of the story, the SS does not like to be revved while in neutral and not moving.
Thank you, sounds like it threw a code since it wasn't moving (odd, this thing is sensitive). Do you know if this code will auto clear after a few successful drives? If not how does one clear it? I read it doesn't have a obd2 port...
I swapped my surge tank for the DDM tank. Drove it once, let it sit in the garage, and idle for about 20 mins (to stress it, check for leaks etc) than gave it a couple revs to 3k and hold at 3k for a few seconds. The car threw the engine light. I shut off, turned back on. The light is still there, went for a drive everything feels fine. I searched the forum but couldn't find this fault code. Dave@DDMWorks Thank you in advance.
Were you able to get a replacement? If not, email me angie@ddmworks.com and I will see what I can do to get you taken care of.
Yes, thank you.
