Having survived serious medical situations gives a different outlook to life, I'm glad she's a survivor and is finding a way to pay it forward to help others avoid what she had to go through

Now that I've dried my eyes from reading all the well wishes and prayers, I better post some GOOD news for a change. Starting with I'm going to beat this thing. While it was a fatal infection, it was identified and aggressively treated, so lasting effects should be minimal at best.

As Jimmy Connman) and Bill Martin stated, I did see the infectious disease doctor today. He reviewed the latest labs and a physical exam and appeared to feel confident to say that the infection IS being eradicated by the antibiotics. While I still have to be on them for another week, and go back for more blood work, he has basically discharged me from his care. I'm now under the care of my primary care doctor (who I have already seen and have another appointment scheduled) and my cardiologist who has seen me twice in the hospital and has been updated for the entire case. I see him in 10 days for his part of the body. He's already said he's going to retest ekg, eco, stress test and depending on results, maybe have me wear a heart monitor for a week to see what "issues" happen outside of his office. He (infectious guy) said that the weakness and pains I'm having from the meds should go away within a week of them being stopped. (AS luck would have it, the ONLY antibiotic that works against this infection is a drug that I'm allergic to. It causes severe muscle and joint pain as well as muscle weakness. It's so odd to have to use two hands to raise a cup of bottle just to have a drink.

Anyways. leg pain is greatly reduced and the redness and "heat" is going away. I'm can now get out of bed and stand up without the extreme pain that ran the whole leg and into the knee. One positive is that the infection did not attack my surgically corrected knee joint. That had me worried as much as having heart issues.

I'm going to post under a new thread the whole story of what happened - not looking for pity or congratulations for apparently betting this, but so you all know how close to death you all could come if the situation ever happens to you. It's happens a LOT more than people think, but not so much that hospital emergency rooms or Intensive Care units can identify it easily.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers and all joking a side, knowing I had a support system in place right here if I needed to reach out, helped keep my head screwed on straight. Now in talking to Bill Martin, it's going to be a race to see who is off their antibiotics sooner (both planned for the same day next week). And while I'm home, he might be able to have some news as to his next stop along his road to recovery. Bill and Angie, I'm pulling for you guy. I just wish I was a little closer so i could lend a hand to you all.

Congrats to you Mr Wolf. Tonight, your team beat my team. On any given day..............

Haters gonna hate, but both teams played great at times, and both teams had holes at times. It's tough to win in this league, but to win when you're playing from behind catches up to you sooner or later. It did today.

I'm sure the Patriot's will win another super bowl championship, but fully expect Mr. Wolf'd team to at least show up and make it a great game. If they lose, well, it's been nice knowing all you wonderful people.

Project “Tits Up” is in full swing... in addition to reading bus data, I’m going to go a different (more low-tech) route to capture rpms and gear shift positions (step 1). Relay that info to a mounted digital display (step 2). Success (to me anyways), will be when I can make an ANT+ Bluetooth transceiver for the Garmin VIRB. I WILL HAVE MY VIDEO OVERLAYS DAMIT!! :00007555:

...and I think I know just how I’m going to do all of this... (arrives Tuesday)

I have no idea what the hell that is but I want one!

AS much as I love ya Mitch, since this isn't in the NSFW section, here's the best I can do to explain it to you

If you two are gonna have babies, I'm selling tickets to the show!!

Several years ago, I was in a grocery store. This guy comes over to me and puts his hand on my belly. He says "you know, if this was on a women, I'd know what it was"

I looked at the smart ass and replied, "It was on a women last night, so Mr expert, what is it?"
