Yeah I just have bad luck. My truck is lifted with 20 inch rims and 35s... I normally go to a tire place that specializes in customs rims ect. When I bought my rims that are on it now, one rim had a scratch on it from the factory. It was on the lip where the tire bead is and I honestly didn't even see it when they pointed it out to me. They not only told me about it but then replaced it 2 days later when the replacement came in. Thats what I call service....... This year I brought it down the road from my house... Ahh I'll save some time instead of driving 25 minutes to that place.... They put a big 6 inch scratch on one of the wheels, Told me about it and acted like it was my fault for having large rims and tires. I called before hand to verify they could work on it and they had no issues then. Needless to say I don't go there anymore, I had some choice words for.them They told me about it, but that was it. Upon further inspection they tried to cover it with up a black sharpie but that didn't work which is why they told me.

EricRedSL I get it. I do a lot of my work myself now because I don't trust anyone. My step son just got his first car and is obsessed with youtubers and people with mclarens and Super cars. I told him if I ever was that rich I wouldn't want any of those cars.My complaint now about a $500 rim would be on a $20k Rim for those car or some bumper part that cost 50k. People just don't respect any ones stuff anymore and its sad...... There is a reason business's have insurance but yet no one wants to admit to it.

Bigdog I could care less about the left over tape from the weights. more about the physical damage. Might pick some up though, I defentnatly get not wanting to scratch someones wheels lol however at this point wouldn't matter to me if they used steel wool.

airoutlaw Shit happens but that rim is probably $400-600 to replace from Polaris. Didn't have a scratch, curb rash or dent on it. Now the Face has what looks like curb rash, the back side has a few 2-3 inch scratches and the inside has 2 big dents with metal shavings sticking up as well as other marks. I get you can cob it up with some nail polish but thats besides the point. I don't hand wash and polish my cars/vehicles weekly so they look like shit. I don't have my sling parked in my garage with a Cover over it so that my rims can look like shit. Its not a $500 honda civic.I take care of my stuff and expect others who work on it to do the same. Its the core principle not about the $$$. I get people make mistakes but not taking responsibility for it is even worse.

Quick update talked to the Dealer Monday, They said they will take care of it. Brought it in today and they took pictures. Guess they took it to good year down the road due to it being a 20inch Rim they don't have anything to handle it in shop. No discussion of what taking care of it means but I'll post an update next week if I don't hear anything before then.

Took my SL to tire warehouse to have rear tire put on. Next morning I saw one of the rear spokes was cracked all the way through. They said they didn't do it. But if it was cracked when they changed the tire they surely would have noticed. I did not argue with them since it was my excuse to upgrade the rims.

Pretty much where I'm at now. Shitty thing is between Tire and Fees to mount I would have been $200 closer to the wheels/tires I wanted Plus whos going to want to buy these when the back rim is messed up now. Figured I could get $400-$500 for these stock rims but who knows now.

Be a fun call Monday, A good dealer would offer to replace the Rim, however crappy dealers/tire places will say it was already there and they didn't do it which is what I'm expecting.

    Was looking at these

ROHANA RF2 SLINGSHOT 20" SUPER WIDE REAR (345 OR 335) WHEEL AND TIRE PACKAGE

Long story short... brought my sling in for 2 recalls and to get a new rear tire put of due to shredding the kendall with the new DDM works turbo (Thanks again Dave). Now not sure about you guys/girl but I'm pretty anal when it comes to my stuff and vehicles in general. Before bringing it in for service I washed it just to reduce the chance of someone rubbing on it and scratching the paint.

Waited 1 month for my appointment, Dropped it off Monday, Picked it up end of day Wednesday. 2 recalls, 1 for the fuse melting and catching fire, and second for backup cam melting and possibly catching fire or failing. New Rear tire, inspection and to check my brakes as they feel spongy. Couldn't do the recalls as the parts are on back order (Didn't order them I don't think till Monday or Try too) So basically New tire, Inspection and maybe they bled the brakes not sure...... Now I looked the vehicle over before I picked it up but never inspected the Rear rim ... was in a rush my step son was picking up his first Car and we had to finish the paperwork on that.

So today he wanted to wash his car, I was in the Garage picking up some things and noticed the left over tape/residue from the old Rear wheel weights so I went and get a sponge. When I was about to start cleaning it up then I noticed the damage.

Dealership is Griffin Motor Sports INC

Waiting to hear back from them on Monday.. My guess is I will be told to kick rocks as it should have been check before leaving and really wont be any way to prove they did the damage.

Just a great stretch of luck on my part between the Chemical reaction of the Chem guys products and now this..... I mean I wanted to get new Rims but am holding off till next year.

I get there are plenty of plastic restorers. My point is using a product should not do this to your vehicle. It was black 3 weeks ago. See response. I guess BBB Complaint, Bad reviews and a call from my lawyer is due.... Also a Note is not a disclaimer. How can you sell a product that you have no control over the effect of Use ???? Isn't that the Advertised results of the product ???? Got about 15 bottles of Chem Guys going in the garbage tomorrow. Maybe Car maunufactures should start putting a note at the bottom of every car contract. Not liable for anything with the vehicle, Mechanical failures, damages and or non working parts after purchase. Good luck Chem guys.... this wont hold up in court if we even make it that far.

    Hello Craig,

    Hey guys,

Posting to see if anyone here maybe has run into this and or to warn others. Last year started using Chemical guys cleaning products. They seemed to work well and were priced decent. I had used them on my Truck and Car with no issues. Last Year I used it on my sling with 0 issues. Well wanted to just spray off the bike as it was covered with pollen and I am going riding tomorrow. Just soap and water and see the results. I used their pink soap. However The trim last wash I used their Silk Trim product. The Wash before that I used their Tire/Trim Gel but was not a fan so switched back to the Silk trim spray. I'm guessing either there was a chemical reaction between their 2 products or I recently just got a new bottle from Amazon of the silk trim spray and that is bad...Either way not happy. I tried to wash a spot with just dawn and water to see if it was maybe some kind of residue but no change. I detailed the entire bike and while wet or applying their product again over the trim it looks back to normal. My issue is I should be able to wash the bike with just soap and water with out doing a full detail and the plastic should still be black. Its a 2016 and is 3 years old. 5k miles the plastic was not discolored prior. I will see what their response is, no warnings on the bottles about using in a test spot ect... So if they can't give me a solution my lawyer hopefully will.

Warning to other if you use their products beware..........

Slopoke probably. I'm looking at getting some new wheels first. Think I had it out one warm day and put a little ding on one of the rims from a pot hole. Most people don't see it but I do. Plus its an excuse to get new ones lol. Looking to get a bigger rear tire as well. Still have the stock Kendals on it and they spin so easy now.

Looking at these but I kind of want something red. I like these as well but I know the red will be off and think it will look funny.

After wheels I want to upgrade the sound quality as that sucks with the stock speakers and head unit. Maybe get some suspension after that and who knows maybe some more power next year.

As I started this thread back on March 8th I was still doing some research and looking to hear from others experiences. If you have not read by now I did end up going with the DDMWorks stage 1 turbo kit.

There were a few things that lead me down that road over other vendors. One was the overall High community recommendations for them based on experience, not only the quality of builds but the level of customer service. Big shout out to Dave as he stepped up big in my mind at resolving any issues I had. 1 was a cracked fitting which possibly could have been done when we installed it. He sent not 1 but 2 replacements to me over night. The first 1 got lost and never showed up so he sent me another one Last night that came today. When starting the install Angie had told me he was traveling when I called with some other non related questions. Not only did he answer my txt I'm pretty sure he gave me a call at some point as well while at the airport. Overall all I would rate my technical skill set in the garage 6/10 and I had no issues installing this kit. Directions were clear as can be with pictures. So again THANKS DAVE!!!!!!!

For anyone else looking into a turbo the other reason I went with DDMWorks over other vendors came down to Exhaust options. My wife last year did nothing but complain about exhaust fumes. When I bought the bike used, it came with a Alpha exhaust with electronic baffle. So I ordered a Welter Rear exhaust for this kit. However after installing and firing up the one that came with the kit I ended up canceling that order. It sounds great with the DDMWorks exhaust and also during the install I noticed that Alpha exhaust sat flush with the underside of the slingshot. The DDMworks exit sits probably 2 inches lower.

All I have left to do is put the hood back on which I'll probably do tonight or tomorrow. Even though we got some Snow last night I still took it out briefly today and OMG what a difference. I can't imagine the people running Stage 2 kits with tuned motors. I can now in 4-5th gear give it the gas and she will actually go. Before as others have complained it really lacked some passing power in the higher gears at low RPMs. Hopefully tomorrow since its going to be almost 60 I'll take it out for a longer ride.

If anyone has questions feel free to reach out. I attached some pictures of the finished install.

Yeah I was more asking what the AFR is normally for those on a boosted setup so I can program my AEM Failsafe range.

I understand there is a max limit for boost an engine can handle and I don't plan on messing with the pressure from the DDMWorks kit.

Got everything today, fired it up and had a coolant line leaking. Took it off and the flare was cracked. DDM overnighting me another one so hopefully I can fire it up tomorrow before the blizzard this weekend lol. Anyways installed my AEM failsafe tonight. Configuring the gauge what is the ideal AFR for boosted slingshot engines 12-15 ? Not looking for the perfect number just range from idle to load.

    Thanks guys

Post some pics maybe a video when I get it all together. ..... maybe tomorrow.

Guys I have a 2016 Slingshot and looking too add a little better audio to this thing. Noticed the sound quality really goes down once I get moving and turn it up a bit. Hoping to maybe just replace the stock speakers for now and see if that helps. I also like the idea of the rear pods but can you add another 2 speakers to the stock head unit with out adding in a new amp ? Looking at doing the polk DB522 for the front pods.

Let me know thoughts and expereience. I wouldn't mind adding the side pod or top pod if I can just splice in and add 2 additional speakers. I really don't want to play around with mounting a new amp ect...

I guess for me the only last option I need to figure out is the exhaust. My wife refuses to ride with my now due to the fumes from the current exhaust. While I can smell them at lower speeds it doesn’t bother me as much but I do say after a long ride I can smell my jacket or clothes later and they really do reek hours later. I’m looking for either a front side or rear exiting system. I guess this is where the deciding factor might come into play for example Hanns kits are bit more expensive but with the $900 side exhaust option it’s cheaper then getting the zzp or ddm and 2.5 wp dual exhaust. The concern for me again is very little videos out there about how these setups sound with different exhaust . I don’t want this to sound like a Honda Civic with a fart can especially if I drop $2k on the exhaust. Any input guys , Vendors do you have any custom options not listed on your websites ? For example does the zzp kits even fit the wp exhaust. Anyone use the wp exhaust ??

Thanks for the responses guys. I put about 3k on my sling last year. The complaint I have read on here and other places about passing power on the highway is 1 of the issues im trying to resolve. I'm not going to the track but do want the option for more power. Its fun to drive now and can't imagine how much fun it will be with another 100HP.

Looking for some info / experiences from people who have thrown turbos onto your slings. Preferable anyone with the ZZP or DDMS kits. I'm looking at possibly adding one of the 2 turbo kits in the next month or 2. However there is not much data out there as far as long term effects, performance, and overall drive-ability after the kits are installed. My father knows a guy who is down on his luck, just bought a motorcycle off him, he also has a sling for sale and he was telling him how I was going to add a turbo. He told my father not to do it, a guy he knew blew his motor. The kits are a decent penny to begin with so I'm concerned to spend $3k to get 1 summer out of them just to blow the motor. Also the overall drive-ability of them. one of the ZZP videos you can clearly see when he step on it the back end kicking out, not once but twice. Power is great but with 1 wheel and traction already a problem can you really stomp on these things and take off or do you basically have to baby them along in a higher gear to prevent slippage. I just have not really read or saw many videos of people experiences with turbos. Theres the flashy... Buy my turbo kit videos and testing videos but I don't think I've found 1 of some guy weeks after he had a kit added that talks about it or even shows you a drive video.

Thoughts and input would be great. Please don't post if you never have owned a Turbo Slingshot. I'm not looking for theory but real experience with either of the 2 kits. IF you had another kit feel free to post your experience as far as handling, power ect.
