I've also used velcro in place of some of the double sided tape

Hey guys, so I'm sure some of you are pros, I got stuck in the rain one time and I hated it! What are some things or tips and tricks to making it a bit more enjoyable? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Good windshield, use rain x plastic..face shield and a roof would be nice

Hopefully not one of those times that they DON'T take American Express

Did you have to modify the tunnel to make it fit?

So I could stay with 32 all way around or drop the front downs to say 30.
Is that what I am hearing?
I would think so although most owners lean toward as low an inflation level as possible. I think the stock tires are 44 psi for max pressure. Given that we only have 3 wheels, our weight per tire isn't too far off most compact cars that run higher pressures.

Just the Virginia part! have satellite internet - might as well have dial up
Sorry to hear...I live in a rural area and way back we didn't have cable and we had one of the last crossbar (phone) switching systems in country. 2.8K was the best we could get on dial up. Eventually I got a Hughes satellite system for internet. I still curse just thinking about it.

Unless you have an enclosed trailer almost every arriving SS will be filthy..A cleaning or detailing vendor would "clean" up

My internet SUCKS - I hate I can't watch video without constant buffering
Sounds more like you live in West Virginia

Since higher pressures seem to be more positive for hydroplaning I went up to 29 front and 33 rear (BFG Comp 2) for the Maggie Valley trip. Willing to sacrifice some wear for better grip in rain. Will lower back down when I get home.

This kinda starts out like a Sheldon "Fun with Flags" but is somewhat interesting to watch. The professional driver is not overly enamored with it.

Since Spud didn't share a pic, here's what the gorilla nuts look like...
Guess a Gorilla has to lug his nuts around like everybody else

Here is an old trick works very well
1- find a level spot in your shop.
2- using tape mark the position of all 3 wheels so that you can put the bike back in the same spot to recheck later
3- find measuring points I used - the lower front wing and the 4 recommended jack points as well as a mid point measurement.
4- mark the floor with tape at each point
5- Take your measurements and write them on the tape
6- after install take you sling out for a ride to let everything settle in
7- return the bike to the same spot and measure to the same tape marks.Very thorough, I wonder if new coilovers settle a bit after sitting

Finally got a quick 40 mile run in today. Fronts were set at 6 and rear at 5. Took a not so smooth road (E Pluribus Unum around my house) and felt much better absorption and handling. Will do close to 150 miles tomorrow and will try different settings.
Thanks again to my known friends who did a will work for food (and beer) install and the friends I haven't met yet for sage advice on settings.Thx for the update

Just check with your dealer and make sure he has most recent updates to Polaris Digital Wrench software. I believe last updates were in April. That said, the 2 most utilized are for rev hang & idle dropoff problem put out last summer and the newer one for steering put out in April. No rush if you're not having either issue.

I started collecting Pez dispensers in 1999.
When the zombie apocalypse happens you could be eating Pez for years BUT you'd probably starve rather than break them open after that much work.

I always wanted a weather watch

Getting new shocks next week and decided to measure current height as I want to keep the stock height. Figured I'd just put a yardstick centered on front tire hubs and measure to bottom of fender. As you can see in first two pics--there's a 3/4" difference with left being higher.
I then opened hood and measured to flat top shock mount brace on both sides. Identical measurement on both sides there. Obviously there's not a lot of QC setting up the front plastic body parts. I was able to measure about a 1/8" diff in the adjustable fender bumper, the other 1/2+ inch is on the factory. -
Glad nothing serious happened and amazed they were actually held accountable. Surprisingly, Florida is the 3rd worst state for damaged windshields caused by debris off trucks. Since much of FL is basically a swamp, lots of dump trucks are needed for pretty much everything needing to be built. The term "dirt cheap" doesn't apply as a new house might have 20K for just fill. The poor guys driving them are paid by the load and barely make ends meet. Many of the trucks have no plates, bald tires, shredded covers and are simply unsafe. I've lost 3 windshields over the years here and driving the SS and riding MC is always an experience as I get to pass 2 "fill" stations every day.

Ok...now back to the weather...hope for the best and prepare for the worst..rainsuits, plastic bags, booties, rain X, protect cell phones, helmet face shield, slow down.
