You may have already considered this or you may have already done this but most mfg's offer a "Heavy" trigger for their pistols. Some departments require a certain weight trigger pull for any weapon carried on duty. A "heavy" trigger may help you in your situation to shoot only when you intend to shoot.
It's no so much trigger control. It's mostly aim. Fortunately it's my left hand that's the biggest issue (so far), and I'm right handed. But if I get stressed or excited, all bets are off. I wouldn't be able to hit the broad side of a barn. The FN is a little better because it's bigger and heavier than the Ruger, which creates kind of a damping effect, but I'm afraid that if I got into a situation where I actually needed to use it, I'd shake so bad I wouldn't even be able to draw it, much less aim it.

I have a Ruger LC9s and a FNS-9c. I don't carry either or even shoot anymore . Parkinson's disease would make me a serious hazard if I had to to pull my carry. Hell, I'm afraid to even go the the range anymore. Afraid I might accidentally shoot the place up . I keep the FNS-9c handy at home for home defense. I live alone so I can "spray and pray" and don't have to worry about collateral damage (except maybe my cat).

Granted my garage is pretty small, but these are seriously bright (6000 lumens) and you can adjust the "petals" to aim the light where you want it.

Now our experience with installing a roof on the SlingShot is quite the opposite from most other folks, where the top in the summer time tends to hold in the heat more. ...
You don't get any relief via the shade provided by the top? It always felt like it wasn't too hot, temperature wise, I just needed to get out of the direct sunlight...
-
So, as a new SS owner that bought one in late September and has not seen hot weather yet..... Why do so many owners say you need a top to get relief from the sun?
I routinely drive thousands of miles on vacation all around the country on my two wheeler and rarely feel like I need relief from the sun.
Is the SS that much hotter/different than my bike???
Yes. I don't think it's any one thing, but may be a combination of less air movement and maybe all the black surfaces around you. My first long trip in my sling was to Key West and I did it with no top. It was like roasting a chicken. If you're like me and get "swamp-ass" on the bike, be prepared for swamp legs and back too. I bought these to help with that.
EDIT: I still don't have a top. I just don't like what they do to the look of the sling. Some look better than others, but even the Polaris top ruins the slings lines, IMO.

To Food Lion to pick up cat food. Because we can't all live in the SoCal hills;)

Rain. Rain yesterday. Rain most of last week. And the week before that. Rain tomorrow. Rain the rest of this week. Probably rain next week. Pretty much just rain. I've lived in this house for 22 years and had to mow the lawn in February for the first time ever this year. May trade the sling in on a boat...

Stick to things (mostly) that affect performance and drivability. Love all you folks with special paint and lighting, but that's not my bag.
Ditto. I'm in for just over 4k in goodies so far and I think the only cosmetic items I've bought are a gas cap, double nut cover, powder coated valve cover and some mirror accent strips. Everything else has been a functional mod.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced intermittent drain. Sometimes mine is fine after 2 or 3 weeks and sometimes it drains in a couple of days. I haven't done the recall yet and am now hopeful that will cure it. I've been wondering if it's related to the Digital Guard Dawg keyless ignition system.
Yup. I went over my sling with a fine tooth comb looking for the source of the drain. Would be fine for a week off the tender and then suddenly dead in a couple of days seemingly at random. I even put an ammeter inline and never saw any excessive drain. Usually just a few milliamps. Had the two recalls done a while back. Haven't had a dead battery since. It may be a complete coincidence though. I just don't know. (I also have the digital guard dawg installed, and a Neutrino Aurora)

I have these from slingmods. Good quality, look and fit.

Ok - Sorry but gotta brag! This was just an awesome day! 78 Degrees in the valley and 68 in the high desert. From Mt Palomar at 6K feet to Borrego Canyon floor. Ok here we go.....
You suck....
Seriously though, I lived in San Diego (well, Poway, technically) for 8 years in the 80's and one of the things I miss most is access to rides like that. Beautiful country..

I really like some of the aftermarket steering wheels, and I'd love to have a quick release, but I kind of like the Sparco steering wheel my 2019 SLR came with. I just wish it had the flat bottom.

since I’ve had mine two years I can count on two hands how many others I’ve seen in my area...20 miles north east of Pittsburgh, PA. I feel like the Lone Stranger.
Same here. Even during peak riding season here I might see one or two a month out on the road. Heck, even with all the trips I've made back to the dealer for various things, there was only another SS owner there when I was there once. Probably the single biggest bummer about this experience is the lack of folks to ride with. Especially after years of riding Harley's and being a HOG member. We have 2 HOG chapters in my town and each has around 100 members. Really wish Polaris had a similar program, but I guess the ownership numbers are just not high enough in most areas.

Like Slopoke mentioned, a lot of times a vacuum leak will cause this.
I didn't really investigate that possibility because typically when I've seen vacuum leaks in the past on other engines, it causes a pretty rough idle too, but I'll check these items out. Thanks much.

Mine does the same thing pretty regularly and has since the day I bought it new. With mine, it primarily happens after downshifting to prepare to stop. Basically in a situation where the engine RPM is fairly high but my foot is off the gas (using engine braking to decelerate) if I then push the clutch in, the RPM will fall way down below 500, and often doesn't recover and stalls.

my 19 is a work in progress (SlingMods I can see you grinning) lol
Same here. I ran a report in Quicken of the money I've spent so for at Slingmods on goodies for my '19 SLR and my first reaction was "that can't be right"....

Love the new lights and all the changes to the cockpit/displays/controls, etc. Kind of wary about a new motor. If they offered the R model with the existing motor I'd be tempted...

Got T-19-1 and 2 done today. Took about a half hour.

Did put together the Slingshot Homecoming in Huntsville, AL in 2019...great event.
Yeah, I hope there is another one of those. Would love to go.
