also in California many of the lights that people add are not even legal

I think that's the case, in one form or another in many states. It's just VERY loosely enforced. For example, where I live you can't have red lights visible from the front of the vehicle, blue lights anywhere on the exterior, or any "Flashing or rotating lights", and the license plate frame light must be white. And yet, it seems like probably one out of every five Harleys I see on the road at night is violating at least one of these.

My MD does not even do insurance and if I call at 12 o-clock tonight he answers the telephone. I pay him a set amount per year.

Mine is like so many these days. Owned buy some huge company that puts a premium on getting as many patients in, out, and billed in a day as possible.

for me with my limited discretionary mod money I chose to focus on ride comfort and handling - - as my daily driver and weekend warrior these things take priority

Yeah, nearly all the money I have spent on my sling was to improve areas that the stock sling was kind of lacking in, like shocks. I did buy a powder coated valve cover, but I'm not really sure why. I'm the only one that ever sees it :P.

Gonna do sort of the same thing. Gonna hard wire the plug into my switched fuse box and just have an outlet I can plug the seat fans into when needed. You can see my fuse block over on the other thread.

Yeah, I saw that. Pretty impressive. I only have a single Neutrino, mounted under the hood protected by a circuit breaker mounted near the battery. I still have 3 unused circuits, but if I run out I'll probably go your route. The automation etc in the Neutrino is nice, but the cost is kind of high.

Came up with a neat solution for powering my cooling seat pad that might work for some others here. Previously I installed a jack next to my seat to plug my heated gear (Gerbing) into. I don't have a dedicated heated gear controller. I control it with a Neutrino Aurora. I found a combination of adapters on Amazon that lets me plug the seat pad into the heated gear connector. Now I can control the seat pad from the Neutrino during the summer with no new wiring or jacks and I don't have to take up one of the slings factory lighter sockets.

EDIT: Link to the socket. Link to the adapter. (I couldn't find a socket with a 5.5mmx2.5mm plug, hence the adapter.)

I got a call from my doctors office this morning - - nothing urgent, they just called to check and make sure we are all doing well and to find out if we had any questions about anything concerning the coronavirus.

I think this was very thoughtful of them, its not like I have any preexisting anything that would cause this - - they just wanted me to know they are there if we need them

pretty cool if you ask me 8)

Wow! That's some great service. It's a royal PITA just to make an appointment at my GP at the best of times. I can pretty much guarantee they wouldn't be that proactive.

It simply comes down to 2 things... 1. To each their own. I compare it to pizza. Some people like cheese, some like the works. 2. It's not your money...who cares?

I don't "care". Just an observation. I had a friend that thought all pizza was nasty. I don't really "care" that he thought that, but it was certainly the topic of discussion a few times :)

Or am I the only one that has no desire for my sling to sound like a rock concert and look like a parade float? I mean, if that's your thing, cool deal, but I just don't get it. I'd say that maybe I'm too old, but many sling owners are older than I am and put a$$-loads of cash into thumping stereos and chaser LEDs. I have a 2019 SLR, and the stock stereo is more than fine for me. In fact, I usually don't even listen to it. Just listen to the engine, the road and the wind. And the lights.... I like some basic, static under-body lights, but some guys are going WAY over the top with synchronized chasers to the point where their sling looks it should be rolling along at 2 MPH in the Mardi Gras parade rather than 100 MPH on a race track. The sling is a sexy performance roadster right out of the box. A few little subtle accents here and there to personalize it is all I need. I guess I'm just an old fuddy-duddy.

So why hasn't the lab been repurposed to process human tests? Interesting that a test for animals has been developed and produced when human testing is lagging.

I can't answer that. I'm an IT guy, not a DVM or and MD. I have no clue what would be required to get an animal testing lab setup to be able, and permitted, to do human sample testing.

I keep hearing about rapid testing supposedly coming any day now. My 86 year old father went to the ER yesterday and they gave him the covid test. Said it would be 5 days. :(

I got the death data here.

Whoops. It looks like the actual deaths are half that. I was including ethnicity total rows along WITH the ethnicity rows, which doubled the sum. So it looks like statewide deaths in 2017 were actually 155,188 which makes more sense when looking at the CDC top ten list for NY, which shows 117,466‬ deaths. That would leave about 38,000 for all other deaths not in the top ten. (Yes, I'm obsessing over this. As an IT guy, I love digging around in data ;) )

The average mortality in the USA overall is about 0.0074% - that's about 1560 people per day in the New York metro area.

You sure that's accurate? That would be 569,400 deaths a year in the metro area. According to the the NY State Department of Health's vital statistics website, that's nearly double the number of people that actually die in the entire state annually (310,376 in 2017).

500 deaths a day in NY due to Covid means it's killing more people ever day right now than all other causes of death in NY combined. From the chart below, all other combined are about 322 per day.

What is the number were it becomes non-trivial?
