We’ve got a cast aluminum one from the filler store. Hasn’t broke, yet. And it scoops great.

I have used the cast aluminum one for years, it has a fluid or gel in the handle that makes it work very well. I have NEVER run it into the dishwasher, always hand wash it, and dry it after scooping my ice cream. Found that Amazon sells one that looks just like it for less than $10 and has pretty good reviews

Onesource 3 Oz. (Ounce) Self-defrosting Ice Cream, Gelato, Sorbet Scoop, Scooper, Ice Cream Dipper, Cast Aluminum - Item Size 12

    You should not regret it!

We have a 2009 Rubicon 4 door with a life time drive train warranty and 41,000 miles on it... Love it, only issue we ever had on it was the "death wobble" which we cured about 5 years ago by putting a new steering cylinder / damper on replacing the original.

Will never sell it! Now keep it in Texas at our second home.

Today my day started with getting a lift installed in my shop, that went very well, got the sling on it. Ordered a oil drain system from Amazon, found and planning to go to Harbor Freight to pickup a couple of safety jacks. During the process of looking under the slingshot to see where to place the lift pads, I got a slight case of Vertigo, so spent the afternoon in bed to rest. Did some exercises, and now feeling much better. Ordered a Spot mirror that will allow me to put under the car to see where the lift goes... hopefully that takes care of that! Daughter called me today, they are adopting a couple of foster kids, and the court date to do so has been set, so got reservations to help celebrate this special day. Who knows, may even take the Sling on this trip... 4 1/2 hours one way.... But, maybe not, don't want the focus to be on us with our cool toy.... decisions decisions!

Wife just served me a Lebanon Bologna sandwich....

That is my day so far.

W0GEN nice setup! I love the in floor lift table. Buddy put one of those in for quads and mowers and when not in use it's gone even with the floor. Now you can work on your sling without bending over. You will be surprised how often you will just put it up just to wipe it down. I put marks on the floor when I found the sweet spot to put it in order to be able to swing the arms in and go.

Yes, I am planning to paint the floor to mark exactly where I want to be... Like I said I did order two long arms for $220 each that will give me much more flexibility with this lift.

Got my shop lift installed today! What we do for our slings!

If you purchase one buy a Symmetrical version with two long arms instead of the Asymmetrical type, which has one short and one long arm. I find the short arm barely reaches under the sling to the proper lift points. I ended up ordering a pair of long arms.

I have bought as of late some more metric sockets and a special oil filter tool...... it seems my SS commitment is SERIOUSLY lacking. A 9000 pound lift - really! How do you complete with that?? (Jealous)

No need to compete brother! I am a newby... have to play catch up LOL

I bit the bullet and committed to a 9,000 LB two post lift for my shop today... Ah the Sling is making me spend money!!! LOL

They install it on this coming Monday!

This will be down stream of the canbus tapped into the 12VDC side of the lamps... Planning to run the exact circuit that I have laid out in this post. Will certainly see if there is any issues up stream at the canbus... Would really be no difference by installing the 3rd brake light flasher which I did earlier. Will plan to post the results....

We HAVE to do that sometime. We go to Waverly a lot. Between Walmart and Applebee's, we should just move there.

Worked at the Courier at one time and have lived in both Waterloo an Cedar Falls. Menard's is my second home. :)

We live down the street from Cedar Falls Menards, just North of Ridgeway on Deere Rd.

Heading to Harbor Freight to buy couple more jack stands, going to put ss in the air and work on belt alignment! Have nice AC shop with coffee pot... stop by some time! I will PM you my phone number

Today I decided to build my own circuit that will allow my LED Eyebrow that I will be installing to flash when the turn signal lamp flashes on it's given side.

I ordered some side directional white LED strips that I will use as an eyebrow on my GT.

What I really want to have is the LED's will be on at all times, but when the flasher is activated, the circuit would be interrupted causing it to flash off when the marker light is flashing on.

The build result is a MOSFET that is rated for 5 Amps, which will not see more than 1 amp of load fully encased in adhesive walled heat shrink tube. I built two of these, one for each side of the sling.

There are three leads, one goes to frame ground, one goes to the negative side of the LED Lamp Circuit, and the third lead will be tapped onto the DC Positive lead of the turn signal bulb.

I tested it on the bench driving 3 amps for over an hour and did not detect any temperature rise of the components! The switching speed is wicked fast.

Total cost for the switch circuit less than $5.00!, I am waiting for my Amazon order of OPT7 16Ft 5M Directional LED Light Strip which cost $19.95, from which will be custom cut and applied to the lower edges of the front end. Hoping to document this as we move forward. IF the OPT7 quality is sub par for my needs, I will be looking for a different version.

Sorry to hear for the down time due to your surgery, if you want to talk sling some time let me know we can drive up to one of the good bars in Waverly!

Saw a white SS in Waverly Iowa yesterday. Came up behind him and honked. Left arm shot up and got a nice wave.

The odds of two Slings being in Waverly at the same time are not very good. I should have bought a lottery ticket.H

Hey we are in Waterloo Iowa! If you see a Gray GT it is ours! Drove up to Country Chrome on Sunday a couple of weeks ago and found one other sling from south eastern Iowa.

I get this constant "belt noise" that just bugs me... Dealer suggested that I wash the belt.

I am going to try the washing of the belt and plan to apply a light treatment of WD-40 Specialist Dirt and Dust Resistant Dry Lube PTFE Spray. I have been using this for RV Slides, gear drives, etc, and have been very impressed with the visible lack of dust / dirt collection after use.

    Here is what WD-40 Says:

A dry lubricant that provides long-lasting lubrication and protection without attracting dirt and dust.

WD-40® Specialist® Dirt and Dust Resistant Dry Lube PTFE spray is ideal for reducing friction, providing long-lasting lubrication and corrosion protection with no oily residue. It dries quickly and resists dirt, dust and oil. Great for reducing friction and wear on blades and bits, door and window tracks, slides, conveyor belts, rollers, hinges, power tools and equipment. Effective in temperatures ranging from -100° F to 500° F. Safe on metals, plastic and rubber.

Won't attract dirt, dust or oil

BUT Before I do anything I am going to try adding some high tech steps to see if I can pinpoint and resolve the noise using the following process:

    1. Lift the rear tire off the ground (blocking the fronts)
    2. I have an ultrasonic detection system, and also a set of automotive electronic ears.
    3. Pinpoint the source of the sound if possible,
      1. Ultrasonic?
      2. Normal Sound?
    4. Run the wheel in the air for a few minutes under idle speed (time to be determined)
      1. Conduct thermal analysis of the cog's to see if there is heat generated with what pattern.
    5. Let things cool down
    6. Wash the Belt
    7. Let it dry
    8. Run again for sound, and thermal properties (using same time as previous step)
    9. Cool down
    10. Add the Dry Lube mentioned above
    11. Do the sound and thermal tests (using same baseline times)

Any thoughts or suggestions? I will post the results, likely will attempt to do the following some time next week.
