Think about this.... it costs me $225 to REGISTER my SS in California!
cheap. mine with "excise tax" is $375.00
took a 160 mile ride round trip to Winter Harbor, ME. it was as crowded as it usually is in the summer. probably because Acadia National Park (next peninsula over) has been closed the past couple of weeks.
I guess I'm getting old. It was only 40 today and in the old days I'd have my Leathers on with my chaps and be riding my Goldwing with my wife. Today I thought it was too cold to take out the slingshot even though I have heated gear. And tomorrow is supposed to be 60 and I'm thinking if it feels like 20 I'm not going riding. Damn
F4+5, plus baker air wings, plus a slingshade = warm(ish) ride
about a 30 mile ride today, and a much longer one (~200 mi to Downeast coast & back) planned for tomorrow
put the Dawg keyless ignition in.
I could have used a skinny teenager to help route wires. that took most of the install time
my back is very unhappy with me right now.
Troy/his guys did my install and wheel alignment (mine runs straight as an arrow at 3 digits, no hands required on the steering wheel).
as of now, I'm thinking of bringing it to the local GM dealer for the alignment, since it requires the corvette specs, and after the quad install it'll be mostly a GM vehicle anyway.
I may have caught Troy on a good day, but he's having a sale right now. So TrackHamr with no upgrades is $9,750, + ~$500 for shipping. I think I'm going to reuse the tire/wheel I have (Nitto G2 555), so call it another $500 for 4th wheel/tire. and a guesstimate of $600 for the mechanic I'm using to install it.
so total should come in around $11,350.
I'm single, so no bribes / kick backs are required.
I went with the Twist Dynamics Recluse in 22" all the way around. I really wish I would had done 20" all the way around.
good to know, I'll stick with the 20" wheels.
for those who have the TrakHamr.
What tires / wheels did you use?
So will you do the self-install?
actually, I've talked to my local mechanic, and he's going to do it. my lower back and knees would be very unhappy with me otherwise.
Welcome to our growing membership, it's a great mod!
What color did you go with, any upgrades?
no upgrades. I just did the black gloss with silver metallic highlights. as I'm planning on having the SS custom painted in the future. right now the SS is Black Pearl.
Took a deep breath, talked with Troy and have a TrakHamr on order.
now I just have to wait a month+ for it to ship.
will it fade in the summer? - - -
can people get it again after they already have had it? - -
probably not, it is summer in Australia (southern hemisphere) and it doesn't seem to matter.
and they're saying no, once you have it, your body builds up it's own defenses against it.
Only thing more scary about the coronavirus from the flu is there's no antidote or vaccine yet. Many more people die of the flu every year then have died from Corona. Soon as there's a vaccine out everyone will go back to normal.
yes and no. the flu never has, and never will have an antidote. the flu vaccine is engineered about 18 months in advance using a scientific wild ass guess by the medical researchers to figure out what kind of flu will show it's ugly head. chances are high they get it wrong and the vaccine is not as effective. even if they get it right the vaccine is actually a mild version of the flu, so that your body can manufacture antibodies to protect itself. they are already talking about testing people who have recovered from the covid 19 virus to see what antibodies their body has created. that's probably the best way to develop a vaccine for future occurrences.
Riverside county is over 7000 mi.²
It Stretches from the Arizona border to Los Angeles😎
OK, you win, yours is bigger.
Aroostook County: 6,828 mi²
Riverside county. 2.3 million people.
wow, and here I am in Maine with a total of 1.3 million people. Aroostook County Maine, the size of Connecticut with only 70,000 people in it. I wouldn't survive in a crowded place anymore.
40 min up the road to Wrightwood at ground zero on the San Andreas
mmmm, admit it, it's only 40 minutes up the road, cause everyone else is in stay at home lockdown.
Kind of nice to have a vehicle that jacks its own front end up!
I used to have an orange one with a backhoe. I could lift it entirely off the ground by about 8" using front bucket and rear stabilizer feet.
........they really didn't have what I wanted anyway ( animal faces ) and I wasn't doing a custom one ...
I was going to order more animal faces and noticed they didn't have any listed.
they had maybe 1/2 as many as late last year when i ordered the last time. I assume their supplier is back logged
