DJohnson I finally got the bad news about my bride. She will not be able to ride with me in the Slingshot So I had to let it go. Sold it back to the Dealership. So now I am Sling Less.

@DLohnson I have seen it from the air flying over but never at ground level. BTW They are going to repair my Sling to the tune of $4800.00.The Swing arm is bent the wheel is cracked and the tire is damaged and so is the fender. All the Items mentioned will be replaced The frame is not damaged. I should have it back in 2 or 3 weeks
Hey! I used to summer on Lake Panasoffkee back in my teans (late 70's/early 80s)!! The lake was only a few feet deep and you could see everything. One time, we caught a gar and when that sucker got in the boat and started thrashing around, I swear I ran to shore so fast I never actually touched the water.
chavey2 I used to hunt Gar on the lake with a bow and arrow. If you have never eaten Gar you should try it. I was practically raised on Gar, Gator Meat and Frog Legs. My Dad and I both Had Airboats that we used to hunt Frogs and Gators. Note; the deepest point in Lake Panasoffkee was 20 feet.
i’ve been through Howey in the hills on the way to visit my aunt and uncle in Eustis. Nice Rolling hills up in that area, one of my favorite places to ride. Beautiful place to live Canegrinder.

Display Morecanegrinder when I was in this situation the Polaris tech that tore mine down called me and explained the situation. He told me that if there was frame damage and I had it repaired, I would end up with a branded title in my state (Washington). He invited me to come examine what he had identified as 'frame damage'. He had some blue paint on a couple spots to show me the 'cracks' that really didn't look like cracks to me. He said he could go either way with the adjuster and I asked him to verify frame damage to ensure it was totaled. The adjuster knew squat about the Sling, took the techs word for it and totaled the vehicle.
So, what I'm saying is having a conversation with the tech before the adjuster arrives might help you achieve your goal. My tech got a bottle of cough medicine dropped on his tool box when he was done and I got money for a new Sling.
SlingLow I think the best way to go is have it totaled. Florida Brands titles also. Money wise having it totaled is the way to go. I think my mechanic is leaning that way when we talked. Jack Daniels Makes good cough medicine.
I do have a friend (just one) who might be interested in buying the unit if the insurance wants to total it. keep me informed. He is also in the La Porte, IN area.
EjFord. Thanks EJ I will keep that in mind. I am to the point that I am hoping they will total it. The dealership said it would be a week or more before they can tear it down to find the extent of the damage. This could go on for months.
Man you ok for sure? They get you on Blanding? How is the wife doing also. I hate to drive on Blanding a young girl ran a red light and hit me hard. You need anything let me know.

I went through this in Dec 2020. If the dealer puts down the word "frame" in my experience it is done. The insurance company will total it. If you repair it and have faith in it you will have a branded title and you will have a SS that at best is worth 1/2 of its real value. If you try to sell it someday expect to have a difficult time doing it and at a very discounted price.
Get a list of all the goodies you put on it and the receipts if you can. Make sure you stay close with the adjuster as Ya this is their business but few have a clue about the SS and will just price it out as stock. In my experience I went back and forth ( in a nice way ) and pushed for a greater value. All the "candy" they said NO to I was lucky to have a dealer that said " there she is - go strip what you want". And I did. Things like carbon fiber add ons and dress up comes off with a heat gun and if you add it up it is substantial! They won't pay for it or add it to the value - Get with your dealer and get it back!
The things they did add value to you take a hit for it but it does add to their $ to you so let them have it. If you want some of it back be sure to ask what salvage yard it is going to and be the first one there....

Just out for a little ride and to gas up for a trip to dealer for oil change and check up.
First wave I got was from a new Vette and several motorcycle guys in the area know me and the Slingshot.
EjFord I won't be going anywhere in my Slingshot for a while. I was rear ended 5/20/21 on my way to visit my wife in the hospital. My dealer informed me that if the frame is bent it would have to be totaled. The sad part is it is a limited edition that cannot be replaced. I had just installed Paddle Shifters and had the Transmission re programed.
My jaw just dropped !! The Democrats literally want to take care of illegals from the cradle to the grave. They are spending billions on kids at the border and now AOC is trying to help friends and family of illegals apply to FEMA for up to …get this…. $35,000 in funeral expenses!!! The Treasury soon wont be able to afford ink to print more money and we will start thinking of Venezuela as a vacation resort.
@Biii Martin I believe this administration will always do more for Illegals than they will for the American people. I don't think they give a DAMN about America as long as they can have their way. As for me I am totally fed up with the whole Damned bunch.
@SoCal I have no problem getting out of the drivers side. I just reverse my get in. Stand up, step out. Susan was in a bad car wreck years ago and her left knee had to be fused after the metal joint op failed due to a bad infection. She is also missing the right knee cap so getting in and out is tough. She could grab the mirror bracket but I told her not to as I am scared it will break. She loves to ride. I am going to give more thought to a handle like Irobbi's. I don't see why it wouldn't fit.
DJohnson, I think you need a good sturdy top so she has something to hold on to to get in and out. My wife has the same problem except it is her right wrist.
Lowpt2001 I know that I have been through that part of the country many times. I have just got to where I don't like to leave home. There are some great places to see in South Florida but I am not going there either.
DJohnson Spoil Sport. You need to get out of the house and enjoy life. You are only here once.
It does look lower but at 5' 10" so am I. I need to go over and sit in canegrinder new GT as it has the Slingshade. BTW it is fiberglass not plastic unless Polaris is not listing the spec's right. I am leaning toward the Raptor right now. Besides when I am ready to buy I don't want to wait weeks or months for one from Polaris.

Don, The WAWA station at Blanding Blvd and CR 739 has 91 Octane. It is a few cents cheaper
